  1. Wonder it is connected to Weigh to Go LLC being for for sale for the past year?
  2. I agree, especially when they sell new tires and repair tires.
  3. Check the thermal fuse for continuity. This is covered in the installation/service manual.
  4. Not if you do it right! I covered our 5er with a yellow plastic tarp from Harbor Freight($39.95) for 6 months of a year. Never found any paint damage or wear marks on the 5er. I did have to replace the tarp after 4 years, due to sun rot.
  5. Not really more effort for the dealer, they must clean it up at some point anyway. Their real effort comes when you sit down in the paperwork office, before you sign. It is usual for them to try to entice you to purchase about $8,000 in extras. Things like finance the sales tax and document fees, paint protection, fabric protection, extended service contract, etc.
  6. I vaguely remember that KOA in Cherokee, but nothing about it or location; lotta water under the bridge since then.
  7. When you run out of LP the lines are essentially drained of propane. To correct this, turn a stovetop burner and allow it to burn for a minute, then turn off. Again try to light your LP burner in the water heater, it may take a few attempts before gas reaches that burner and the monitor light stays off, on means it is trying to light and is a warning the gas valve is open.
  8. How about that, thanks! Transcore is the parent company of BestPass. Transcore also has a military presence.
  9. I bought a 6" metal extension at a local auto supply store. It's only used when adding air is necessary; otherwise it is in my toolbox for the air compressor in the MH.
  10. Free enterprise at work. There is already an established nation-wide toll pass for truckers, BestPass. Congress funded and mandated a common toll system by 2016. You see the status of that today if you regularly use toll roads.https://blog.capterra.com/e-zpass-vs-sunpass-vs-fastrak-which-toll-transponder-system-is-best/
  11. Amazon_, I ordered K-cups from an Amazon seller, it came in a new WalMart box. Not good form evidently, Amazon cut the seller loose.
  12. One option is to use a temperature-correcting hydrometer to accurately determine wet-cell battery condition. Another option it to have the battery load-tested, it's the only option if it is a sealed battery. Back in the 1950's at my uncle's filling station, we would dump out the liquid from a failing battery and pour in new acid from the 5G container that came with new batteries. Sometimes it worked for a while, sometimes it did no good. Can't do things like that today, EPA rules might put you in jail. BTW, Unless both batteries are less than 6 months old, never replace just one.
  13. In some states the only thing you can pull behind a 5er is a boat trailer, others differ. That BTW is towing double, not triple. Otherwise what would be towing single??
  14. Many companies do that these days, especially on the internet' As as you revealed; it's in the fine print most of the time.
  15. Our '05 Grand Junction was this way too. I liked it, we could keep the bedroom cooler than the rest of the 5er for sleeping.
  16. The reviewer, Darren, thinks enough of it to sell it. Overall his review is positive; "slicker than other finishes". I'm going to try it first on my pickup.
  17. I checked into buying an Alstar, I really liked the layout, the downside is what DW vetoed, lack of basement storage, due to mid-engine design. The reason Newmar stopped building them was, Spartan stopped building that chassis due to engine overheating, which could not be rectified, according to information in this thread. The Alstar was only built in 2007 and 2008. I think an ambitious person could design a blower underneath to alleviate overheating. Some found the front bedroom design unhandy, however I liked it. Newmar Alstar sales brochure.
  18. I watched a segment of TV about that. Apparently the driver was at fault, he was playing video games on his phone instead of having his hands on the steering wheel, as directed by Tesla. The auto-pilot stuff failed and he could not react.
  19. Our 2014 SMART caravan to the Maritimes used both the long and short ferries. On the long ferry, people with animals had a choice rent a kennel above the vehicle decks or leave animal in the RV the entire voyage. No-one was allowed below the passenger decks except employees while underway.https://www.marineatlantic.ca/sailing-information/travel-information/travelling-pets
  20. Before you lay out the money for a new control board,(not returnable) have yours tested. You see a picture of the test module in the service manual I linked. I would think most any RV repair shop will have one. I was ready to buy a control board from Amazon until a friend sent me the service manual; saved me $90 by having the old one tested.
  21. As aside; I know a man who towed his 1T dually behind his old 1987 CL C on a Chevy chassis. It worked great_until it didn't.
  22. JimK, what is your opinion of Meguiar's Hybrid ceramic Wax? It sounds too easy to use to be true.
  23. Yellowing, cracking. I'm merely the messenger. The old thread is on irv2.com My MH finish is is great shape, and is a 2000 yr. I keep it that way with car wash soap N water.(if you can magnify my avatar) I use Rust-Oleum touchup paints to cover rock chips, the colors are not an exact match to the Winnebago specs, but close enough I've never had anyone make a comment about touch-up spots.
  24. Folks who have had Zep on for several years are now dealing with the long-term effects. They talked about their problems on a different RVing forum.
  25. re: 100A pedestal. That is an ideal situation only. The amp draw from each leg must be exactly the same to reach 100A. Reason, each leg supplies 50A maximum. It is impossible to draw 60/40; well, unless you remove the 50A dual breakers and direct-wire the pedestal.
