  1. We used to have Good Sam and tried to use twice. Once for a lock out in Houston. Said they sent a locksmith, but never showed. 2nd time, broke down in Whitney TX near Waco. Took all day to get a wrecker to us to tow our coach to a Waco dealer. Now have coverage through FMCA, which has great reviews. Glad we have not had to use their coverage so far.
  2. Good deal. Wish it had been available 2 weeks ago when we were in Kerrville. Should sell fast.

  4. When we park, 1st thing I do is plug in my Progressive Dynamics EMS. I check the voltage on both incoming lines. If low, I pull out my Hughes and plug it in. Even when initial reading are OK, I check a couple of times during hot afternoons when electric usage is high. We have only needed it a few times to boost voltage, but when we needed it, it preformed.
  5. Several tents, '75 Southwind 27', 24' Frolic TT, 29' Nomad TT, Starcraft popup, Jayco popup, Hi-Lo, 2003 Mobile Scout 30', 1983 Avion 34V (we restored), 2016 Reflection 35' 5 wheel, 2012 Tiffin Allegro Bus 40' and now in a 2019 Jayco Eagle HT 32.5'. That makes 11 rigs + tents since 1984. We owned 2 sailboats we stayed on when we in between RVs.
  6. Glad you are safe. Sorry for the loss of your rig

  8. Your license renewal form from the state will tell you if you have to have trailer inspected. Takes all the guess work away.
  9. Scheduled for this Saturday morning at Methodist Hospital in Houston med center. I'm in the high risk group, 72, AFib, diabetic and high blood pressure.
  10. Got our appointment here in Houston for this Saturday at Methodist Group.
  11. We have used TaxSlayer.com for years to do our taxes. Simple to use. It will walk you through the whole process. Information rolled forward year to year.
  12. Check out Big Bend State Park next to the National Park.
  13. We use the EFS card also. Have saved a lot of money in our travels. Great deal from a great company.
  14. What does your Owner's Manual say about Recreational Towing? Manual will tell if you can tow and how to.
  15. We have the Verizon 55+ plan for 2 phones. $90/month unlimited talk, text and data. Use phones as hot spots when traveling. Have Motorola Droid G7 phones.
  16. I used the app this afternoon with no problems.
  17. My experience has been the normal nozzle pumps were too tight to get into with fiver behind me. Now have motor home and always fuel at truck islands. My EFS debit card only works at truck pumps and I am not willing to give up the discount to fuel other side
  18. I removed the filler neck from my early Ford F250 diesel and cut out the little restriction ring. Had no problem after that using truck pumps when towing my trailer.
  19. Our coach is diesel. I have the EFS fuel card and fill up at truck stops in the truck lanes. I have put as much as 125 gallons in my coach and it does not cut off until full. Biggest advantage, I do not pay posted prices. I paid fleet discount prices just like the truckers pay. Usually saves me anywhere from $0.16 to $0.50 per gallon. It is a debit card tied to my checking account, not a credit card. Info can be found here: https://www.tsdlogistics.com/services/fuel-program/ . If you apply, it would be great if you would show Ronald Norton as the person who referred you.
  20. Awesome program. Use it whenever traveling. Super savings.
  21. I had someone pull the arm an unlock my fifth wheel once. I pulled out straight, trailer slide off fifth wheel. By a stroke of good luck, I happened to be looking back in mirrors and saw it happening and stopped short keeping the trailer on the truck frame. It was a bear cranking landing gear down and raising the trailer enough to get back under it. Never again did I leave anyplace I stopped without checking for locked fifth wheel. Even when towing our 35' fiver, I checked.
  22. There is a fee for using the TSD / EFS card. It is 10% of your savings. Look at your settlement statement when they deduct funds from your account.
