  1. Howdy! We’re fulltimer’s and I’ve never used the military campgrounds in our travels. The main reason is I carry firearms with us and figured it would be a problem entering with them. Can anyone advised as to using military campground with firearms I would appreciate it? ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon

Howdy! We both retired at 55 and 46 sold the house and have been fulltiming for over thirteen years. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  3. Howdy! Good luck getting GS ERS to pay the bill. I had a breakdown on a trip to Alaska in the Yukon. No phone service. RCMP showed up and call the only tow service for hundred miles. Once I got to a phone I called GS. They refused to pay for the tow stating I had not called them to get authorization. I canceled GS then and there and went with Coach Net. Used CN serval time even in Alaska and Newfoundland. When the tow service showed up they only thing they asked was “where we wanted to be towed to”. Been with CN over twelve years and they have proved us with great service. CN may cost more but we have always got what we’ve paid for. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  4. Howdy! My son quit a very good job as a plant manager for Tyson and started working in the pipeline industry as a Lumper. Worker his way up to operator and even to foreman. He went to classes and obtained his certification as Pipe Line Inspector. Best of luck in your new career endeavors my friend. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  5. Howdy! Like others I have been using Co-pilot for years as a fulltimer on my tablet and phone. When we purchased our Cyclone TH and I found out that it was 13’4” I purchased the Co-pilot truck. It has kept us safe throughout our travels, even in the northeast which is know for low clearances. We’ve also used it travel in the Canadian maritimes and a couple of trips to Alaska. Wouldn’t hit the road without it. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  6. Howdy! If you have a F550 truck and your looking to have a hauler bed built contact Herrin Haulers. They are great bed builder and I had my first MDT bed built buy them. http://www.herrinhauler.com/ 2L Custom Trucks is also a great location as I purchased my truck I have now from Waylon Long. I could not find a truck in stock and Waylon had new trucks ready to build out. He purchases trucks with all the creature comforts with a bed not truck and chassis so the truck is not detuned. I would contact Waylon either way and see what he could do for you. He likes Chevorlet trucks but the new 2020 has an incredible tow rating that may work for you. But he also builds out Ford F550 trucks. https://www.2lcustomtrucks.com/ “Happy Trails” Chiefneon
  7. Howdy! I wouldn’t trust the DMV regarding a lien on it. We purchased a Smart Car paid off the balance within 60 days. When we traded it in on a Newer Smart at the same location we found that Mercedes-Benz had never removed the lien. Good thing we had our title to it. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  8. Howdy! We were staying in Florida a few years ago during the summer and our two ACs on our 5er could not keep up. I purchased a portable AC from Sams club. It did help quite a bite. The one thing you have to deal with is venting the hot air exhaust out. They do provide you with a venting tube to do so and it was easy to vent out one of our windows. I preferred using a portable AC over a window unit as we were moving around from park to park at times. The portable was easier to deal with if and when you do move. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  9. Howdy! I’ve been using USAA for years with our Escapees address. I never use “PMB” doing so. I use our Escapees address and # of our PBM. Never had a problem. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  10. Howdy! As fulltime RVer’s we have traveled in almost all the lower 48 and some of the Canadian Providence’s. When people ask what is our favorite place we had visited the one that stands out is LaScie, Newfoundlandland. When we booked our ferry crossing we had planned to stay one month. After only a couple of days in Newfoundland we changed our return crossing to stay over three months on “The Rock”. During our travels we stumbled on to a wonderful small fishing village LaScie, Newfoundland. We were going to stay a couple of days and ended up staying weeks. The went to Newfoundland to hopefully see some Icebergs and we got our full of just that. We toured a lot of the island backroads and enjoyed see the small harbors. We been to Alaska twice but by far Newfoundland is our favorite travels. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  11. Howdy! If you need to keep the commercial hitch why not add a goose neck ball to the HDT. It shouldn’t interfere with the operation of the fifth wheel. Then get a Reece Goose Box to replace the pin box on the 5er. I saw someone on this forum use a Goose Box on their HDT. I’m using a 20,000 GB now and it works great and I like the way it tows. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  12. Howdy! FMCA is offering members a unlimited data MiFi with Sprint for $49.99 a month no contract. You must be a member of FMCA with at least one year remaining on your membership. Disregard the information referring to the Verizon MiFi. It has a 25mb cap and is unusable after you reach the cap. Been there done that, that’s why I’m interested in the Sprint unlimited. https://www.fmca.com/rv-wifi “Happy Trails” Chiefneon
  13. Howdy! I know that T Mobile doesn’t work very good here as I have had relatives visit that That could not get a signal with their T-Mobile phone. We had a grandfathered Sprint 3G unlimited account for years and it did work here at the Escapees. I had forgotten about that. ”Happy Trails” Chiefneon
  14. Howdy! Can anyone advise me if Sprint data service is any good at the Escapees in Livingston? I have checked Sprints service map and they show them to have 4G LTE data service, but so does AT&T and their service is slim and none. If anyone can confirm that the Sprint Service is good there I’m thinking about getting the FMCA Sprint unlimited data service they offer. Thanks for the help. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  15. Howdy! Coach Net. I dumped GS ERS years ago after they cost me a $2,000.00 towing bill. CN has been good to me. Towed my MDT on a couple of occasions. Once in Newfoundland and also in Alaska. They also sent out two tow trucks one for our 5er and another for the MDT. Only questions asked was where we wanted to be towed to. CN might cost a little more but I’ve got what I paid for. I do aid for the premium CN service. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  16. Howdy! Anyone know if Sprint has a good data signal at the Escapees In Livingston. I had Sprint years ago when we first started fulltiming and it was horrible. I have AT&T and Verizon now but would consider adding another unlimited data to our services if it worked here at our homebase. There map shows 4G LTE but so does AT&T and that not true. “Happy Trails” Chiefneon
  17. Howdy! My daughter is a nurse at Kingwood Hospital and just sent me this message. She was concerned as we are Escapees and are at our homebase here in Livingston. ”Happy Trails” Chiefneon
  18. Howdy! Elected County Judges can, that’s who close Harris (Houston) and other counties. I have not heard of any reported cases of the virus in Polk County. ”Happy Trails” Chiefneon

  20. Howdy! Not really. I had experiences with Good Sam that where not good. The worst was after having GS ERS for year I had a break down on a trip to Alaska. We where in the Yukon no phone service and we’re tow to Bever Creek, Yukon by RCMP and no public service available. The first chance I had I called GS I was denied coverage because I had not called them. We need to be towed to Anchorage., Alaska for repairs and that was denied also. Cost us a $2,000.00 towing bill. We dropped GS ERS now have CN. But every chance I got I advised other for years regarding our issue we encounter with GS. One day years later, I got a call for GS he identified him self as Marcus Lemonis. He wanted to know what he could do to make me happy and stop the remarks I was posting on the GS forum. Of course my response was to reimburse me the $2,000.00. He said he could not do that without the receipts which I no long had seeing that it had been a few years. So he gave me a Life Membership to GS which is a fraction of what the towing bill was. I have been RVing long before Marcus acquired GS. I didn’t care for it much George or now. I even canceled our membership when we started fulltiming over fourteen years ago because they refused to stop with all the junk mail after may request. As fulltimers we had to pay for it to be forwarded. I still don’t care for GS or especially Camping World. We purchased our last RV for CW because they are nation wide thinking that would be a bonus as fulltimers. That turned out to be a very negative and another long story. So it not just politics that I don’t like about Marcus, GS or CW. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  21. Howdy! We are at our homebase located near the Escapees in Livingston. We been here since Late October and had plans to leave in May. I had eye surgery scheduled for this week at he Houston VA hospital but they have canceled all surgery’s. As for now we are staying put until this is over. I know of no cases of the virus in Polk County. We are well stocked for now but are seeing short supplies in the area. “Happy Trails” Chiefneon
  22. Howdy! My life membership hasn’t been worth two dead flies since Marcus decided he didn’t want President Trump supporters shopping there. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  23. Howdy! We are at our homebase in Texas near the Escapees in Livingston. Do to all the now government no implied restrictions, closing of restaurants, bars, malls and just heard that Amazon is suspending all its business we are staying put. I think it’s going to be difficult for fulltime RVer’s during this time to be able to find places they can stay with the closing of state and government parks. If the private owned RV parks and campgrounds start going this there will definitely be a problem for fulltimers. I just heard that Canada has closed their border only permitting Canadian citizens and residents to enter. Mexico has been said to be doing the same. We have been fulltiming for thirteen years and love to travel, but at the same time as stated we have a homebase and we will make use of it until this passes. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  24. Howdy! I don’t know about Sedona but there are some I believe BLM boondocking just outside of the Thousands Trails Verde Valley in Cottonwood, AZ. They are located at 6400 E. Thousand Trails Rd, Cottonwood, AZ 86326. We always stay at the Verde Valley TT’s and have noticed people boondocking in the area going in. ” Happy Trails” Chiefneon
