  1. Howdy! Kirk, I stopped by the Escapees office here in Livingston today. I showed the correspondence to them I had received. No one at Escapees had seen or heard of anyone receiving such correspondence. A supervisor for Escapees contacted the Polk County Appraisal Office. The supervisor informed me that the appraisal office confirmed that the correspondence did come from them and if I was not using the address for commercial use to disregard it. End of story. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  2. Howdy! I was not planning on giving the Polk Central Appraisal District any of my personal information. I’m just interested if any Escapees have received this type of correspondence seeing it was addressed to my Escapees mailing dress *** RAINBOW DR PMB **** LIVINGSTON TX 77399-0000. ”Happy Trails” Chiefneon
  3. Howdy! I received correspondence today in my Escapees mail forwarding address from the Polk Central Appraisal District. They are requesting information regarding income, occupancy and expense data associated with listed income producing property which is my Escapees mail forwarding address. They request I fill out a attached from which they did not provide or go online to “www.polkcad.org”, Income information questionnaire. We have been using Escapees as our mail forwarding address for over sixteen years and have never received this in the past. Don’t know what may have changed but would like to know if any other Escapees have received any this in their Escapees mail? ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  4. Howdy! looks like Idaho Tote has changed their name or sold out to a new owner. I had a Idaho Tote for years. Used it to carry a Yamaha Rhino side by side later a Smart Car. They are very well constructed and made. We towed ours all over the country including Canada and Alaska. Had a law enforcement look us over a few times and never questioned it being a double tow. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon

  7. Howdy! We have a homebase in Livingston near the Escapees and I regularly pick up our mail at the mail center there. I recently encountered a problem with a package delivered to Escapees. The Amazon package was delivered to the Livingston Escapees mail center but I personally did not receive it. After several days of checking and they could not locate it, I was advised to speak to the front office. Today I went to the from Escapees Center office only to find the doors locked and a CLOSED sign. Never payed much attention to it as I always go to the rear where the mail service window is located. So when I checked back at the mail window with the person who actually referred me to go to the front office, they stated they must be closed do to COVID. They gave me a phone number to call. When I contacted them they were very helpful in dealing with my package problem. When I asked about why they were still closed and you had to make and appointment to actually speak to someone I person, their response was COVID and they did not note make those rules they came from higher up. I know we’ve all been forced to deal with the COVID problems but why now that almost all other businesses are open and there are safeguards in place to safely open why is Escapees front office still CLOSED? “Happy Trails’ Chiefneon
  8. Howdy! We had rodent (mice/rats) problems before. Tried most traps catch and release, water bucket, sticky, spring etc… What I do know that works are the ones linked below. I purchased them from Tractor Supply. Loaded them with peanut butter and cough any and all every time we encounter problems with them. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/tomcat-rat-snap-trap-pack-of-1?cm_vc=-10005 “Happy Trails” Chiefneon
  9. Howdy! I insured our 4400 International with USAA. I tried National General and they started with a lowball rate and then kept going up. So I went back to USAA. ”Happy Trails’ Chefneon
  10. Howdy! We have had our homebase near the Escapees in Livingston since 2009. My one complaint has always been the poor ATT service. They use to have a app called “Mark the spot” which you could use to advise them of areas regarding poor service. I usually marked the spot we are located at on a regular basis hoping the service would improve. A couple of days ago I found that the app was no longer available. So I guess ATT finally gave in because today I checked my new Apple iPhone 12 Pro and see three bars of 5G service. I ran a speed test and it was off the chart 226 down and 21.1 up. Glad to finally have good no incredible ATT service.
  11. Howdy! I use Amazon Prime music to make a playlist from the albums of the artist I like. “Happy Trails” Chiefneon
  12. Howdy! In our travels in Oregon and NJ I found it unbelievable how many people would pull up give the attendant their credit card and pin number to pump gas into their vehicle. My first encounter with this law in Oregon was from a attendant that informed me turn my diesel truck off she had to pump my fuel. Back then you needed the turbo to cool down before turning off the motor. She ran around pumping fuel for half a dozen or more locations. She informed me the law was in place to put more people to work in Oregon. She didn't like it when I informed her they needed to hire more people. It made her mad enough that she told me diesels could pump their on fuel. "Happy Trails" Chiefneon
  13. Howdy! I believe the mail service window is now open 0800 to 1700 or 8:00am to 5:00pm now. "Happy Trails" Chiefneon
  14. Howdy! Check into a Reece Goose Box. It I s the only gooseneck that doesn't void your warranty. I've been using a 20,000 Goose Box to tow our 44' toy hauler for a couple of years now. I would not go back to a 5er hitch. "Happy Trails" Chiefneon
  15. Howdy! We have a 2016 Smart Car that the key is stuch in the ignition. You can turn the engine on and off but can not remove the key it will not come out of the ignition. I dropped it off at the Mercedes-Benz dealer in Houston. They called back and advised it was the ignition and would have to be replaced. Only problem is the part has to come from Germany and it is on back order. Unknown when the part will come in and we will get our Smart Car back. Only good thing is we are not traveling now and we have been at our homebase in Livingston since the pandemic started. I would hate to be out on the road and this happen. If this is going to be a on-going problem getting parts for the Smart Car we may have to consider other alternatives. Anyone else have problems getting parts for there Smart Car? What would you consider as an alternative means to replace it also? "Happy Trails" Chiefneon
  16. Howdy! I use a pully system to take pines and other small trees. One pully then connect to tractor or truck and tree pull at a angle as to not pull the tree on to you. Works for me and my lovely wife clearing off the property. Got the pully at tractor supply. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
  17. Howdy! Bigfoot RV trailers are a good well built option you may want to look at. As mention decide on a RV before getting the truck. Always better to have more than enough truck. Especially if you decide to upgrade to larger RV later, which happens to RVers starting out. Having a truck that’s under rated will make your RVing experience miserable. http://www.bigfootrv.com/m/bigfoot_rv_travel_trailers_2500_series.html “Happy Trails” Chiefneon
  18. Howdy! Your best advised is going to come from your attorney not us. Divorce is never great when children are involved. Been there done that, best of luck to you. “Happy Trails” Chiefneon

    Gps for hdt

Howdy! I also have been using Co-Pilot for years as a fulltimer and would not buy another stand alone gps. I used my tablet towing the 5er and my smartphone in the car. They now appear to charge a yearly fee for the cost-pilot app but it appears to also excludes live traffic updates which you use to have to pay for. The RV app is only $29.99 a year. https://copilotgps.com/en-us/compare-features/#pricing ”Happy Trails” Chiefneon

  23. Howdy! I’ve been having problems with my VA hearing aids also. I had and appointment at the Houston VA hospital and I stopped by audiology Department. They gave me a box to mail them off to Denver, CO for repair. The right didn’t work at all and the left worked intermittently. A couple months later they returned my hearing aids. The right worked now but the left one not at all. I called the Houston audiology again and this time they said mail them to them. So today I get a call from the Houston VA audiologists and she says yes the left hearing aid is not working (no kidding). So she is going to send them both to the manufacturer and they will more than likely will replace both hearing aids. Know telling how long that will take. But at least they are doing something. Things must be improving with the Covid19 issue at least here at the Houston VA. I also got another call today from the eye clinic and they are going to schedule me for my eye surgery which was a priority that was canceled back in March do to the pandemic. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon
