  1. 3:07 PM. 76 and clear sky in Yuma, AZ. A beer on the patio is going down very smoothly. I believe it has a "moreish taste" to it!
  2. The February 2021 Yuma Get-Together will be Wednesday February 10th at 10 AM, Foothills Food and Spirits. Exit Foothills Blvd. I-8 and is on southwest corner of S.Frontage Rd. and Foothills Blvd. As always, breakfast or lunch can be ordered. All SKPs are welcome. Social Distancing and masks will be followed.
  3. Agree with 2gypsies, no problem.
  4. Certainly agree with George the Greek. BLM ground not really used like usual. As I have said for the past several years, "the tent" was going down hill. Well it hit an all time low. We went yesterday and entered when the tent flap opened at 9 AM. Nobody waiting, row of "Johnny on the Spots" going unused. We parked on the south side of the tent at the side entrance. No south bound cross traffic to fool with as we made a left going north. I'd bet 65-70% of vendors were non RV related with lots of empty space. Verizon seemed to be the busiest stall in the tent. We then did the north and south outside rows next to the tent. Another joke as empty space was the rule. Another thing I noticed again yesterday as in previous years, numerous vendors are absent when the tent opens and their wares are just sitting on the table. Paying the rent the tent demands, you would think they would be there trying to turn a buck. When we left the tent, simply went out to US 95, turned north with no traffic going north or south. Got to Silly Al's Pizza about 10:45 and ordered. About 11:45 things started to boom in Silly Al's. Good food, good beer, and with good friends. Bottom line, Walmart in the Foothills in Yuma has more customers in just the veggie department.

  6. Linda H. read the article in the Yuma Sun this AM (Friday's edition). There is an article about what is going on possible in the next week at the Yuma Civic Center. https://www.yumasun.com/news/yrmc-plans-mass-vaccination-at-civic-center/article_afb41ba6-56eb-11eb-85ac-6ff43cac1642.html
  7. Just talked to two Albertans at the fish fry about an hour ago. They flew out of Vancouver B.C. to Salt Lake City and picked up a friends van. They are now ensconced in Yuma.

  12. Get well Vern and have a Happy New Year
  13. Mark, just an idea. Since you are in S.D. maybe a road trip up to Quartzite may be in order. There are 2 outfits there that do installs. You could talk to them about what you want. Of course there are good and bad reports. Also, there is no sales tax on solar equipment in Arizona.
  14. Twotoes, the same way for any NASCAR Series that run anywhere in Canada, those taxes must be paid before transporters cross back over into the U.S.
  15. Don't know where you are located but here in Yuma, AZ. there are some terrific Silver Streaks in the area. Unfortunately I don't know any owners. I have never seen any with the blue stipes, neat and good luck.
  16. Barbaraok, there is some that do store a vehicle on there property or in an RV park here in the Yuma area. Two weeks ago there was a couple backing in their truck and enclosed trailer into their lot near us. Had an Ontario plate on it. I too wondered if he stored it somewhere or had it transported commercially across the border and then caught on to it somewhere. Check this out: https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/snowbirds-canada-u-s-border-drive-winter-travel-covid-19-1.5810104
  17. Not many but there are numerous Alberta and B. C. tagged vehicles traveling around Yuma, AZ.
  18. slackercruster, talk personally to car or truck diesel owners. Driven a diesel since 1988. That was a work truck at the telephone company that at about 300 miles the "water in fuel light" came on. The utility body upfitter left the bare chassis out in the lot and it rained. Of course they all ready had the cap and fuel filler hose off. Never again a problem. Bought a 1995 Ram Cummins, put 147,000 on it before selling. Now have a 2003 Ram dually Cummins with 259,000 on the clock.
  19. Wednesday, Dec 9, 2020 at 10 AM, Foothills Food and Spirits. Exit Foothills Blvd. I-8 and is on southwest corner of S.Frontage Rd. and Foothills Blvd. As always, breakfast or lunch can be ordered. Second Get-Together for the "winter season". All SKPs are welcome. Social Distancing and masks will be followed.
  20. I'm going to put vent covers over our roof vents. There are basically two different covers. One that is very common and just covers the vent. There is a longer cover that goes further to the rear of the vent. The shorter cover states on the info, that it is "not recommended" for use over Fantastic fans. The longer cover would probably let more air in when the fan is in use. But is there really a big difference? Has anybody used the shorter version on Fantastic fans? There is quite a price difference between the two. Any input would be appreciated.
  21. Try these 2 places. I have never used either but have a friend who has used AZ Salvage with good luck: https://www.azrvsalvage.com/ https://www.azrvsalvage.com/ https://colawrvsalvage.com/
