  1. They were heading from Oregon to Tucson after a stop in Vegas but were found near Reno looking for Fallon. Why would they go north to Reno from Vegas if they were heading to Tucson?
  2. I have handicap plates and So Dakota does not have these plates available where you renew . My handicap plates had to be mailed and Escapees mail forwarding sent them on to me at my location.
  3. I purchased my Class A used and did not get the combination to the safe. I contacted the safe manufacturer and provided the Vin # and proof of purchase, along with a $10 payment. The manufacturer sent me a key to open the safe along with instructions on how to change the combination.
  4. There is a Escapees Co-Op in Yuma. You might ask them if you can dump your garbage there or if they know of somewhere acceptable.
  5. A lot depends on what State your vehicle is registered in. I use the Escapees South Dakota address and went with Geico for my Class A, Jeep, Harley and an umbrella policy. Just renewed for the 4th year and very little increase in premium but I bought a new Harley.
  6. Kurk you are very edumakated.
  7. Try Bank of the Ozarks, now Bank OZK.
  8. Please do not make this post political. With all that is going on in the world, especially the war in the Ukraine, we need to be aware of the potential of cyber attacks against our banking systems. Even a cyber attack against our electric grid will shut down ATMs and credit/debit card use while shopping and getting fuel. Many stores and banks have backup generators but the internet may still be down and shopping will be on a cadh only basis. It may be good to get a small supply of cash to have at home for emergency use, especially if you are on the road or full time. I'm going to the bank today and withdrawing a few hundred dollars just in case.
  9. Fill out the mail in form and attach a cover letter that you are out of the area for an extensive period of time and unavailableto serve on a Jury. That way you have documation that you responded to the notice.
  10. I have a 2015 Itasca (Winnebago) Elippse 42 QD, same as the Winnebago Tour. It's 42 feet, tag axel, Freightliner, Cummings 450HP, Allison transmission, Aqua Hot 450D. I have a king bed, capt chairs that swivel, residential refer, large kitchen counter, and pull out table and chairs, 1 and 1 1/2 bath. Same floor plan as a Tiffin 45 LP. Prices for 2012 to 2015 models range in the $150,00]0 to $190,000 range.
  11. I switched to Geico several years ago and have been very happy. Little to no increase in premium over the years. Called State Farm but they would not do a full time policy on my Class A without a homeowners policy. Told them if I had a homeowners policy I wouldn't be a full timer.
  12. There was a problem with the phone system a rew days ago, or maybe last week. Also, Mon was a holiday, Presedents Day. Whenever I call I get a message that I am #2 8n the que and the wait time is 1 min. I always wait 5 to 10 min, not 1 min. Another problem I have is that I use the Escapees One Rate, about $7, with FedEx for 2 day service but FedEx always takes 4 or 5 days. Still better than USPS.
  13. Yep. I have a Jeep Rubicon I tow behind my Class A Diesel Pusher. Have been to Moab a few times. Stayed at both the Benson AZ, and Yuma AZ Escapees Co-Ops and have Jeeped at both.
  14. America's Mailbox in Box Elder, a suburb of Rapid City, is also in Pennington County. There are also many other mail forwarding companies throughout the State of South Dakota.
  15. Update: The problem was with one of the thermostats not the heating element. The replacement thermostat cost $50, however the kit including both thermostats and a new heating element was only $100. So, as long as the dryer was out f the cabinet and accesable I decided to get the kit and replace the 7 year old heating element as well.
  16. Before I got my Class A I towed my 5er with a 2012 F-350 6.7. Put 120,000 miles on it. Sorry to hear about your fire.
  17. Good to see a positive review. Escapee RA is thru SafeRide. They also go thru FMCA but a little more $$$ with them. Was considering Coach Net but they are a lot more expensive. Happy to know that I can depend on the Escapees program.
  18. Yes, I got the same message. Ignored it. Probably a scamer.
  19. Is your father able to teach you how to drive the RV? After all he did drive it in the past. Maybe he could ride in the passenger seat and instruct you as you drive it a few times locally before you move it to Arkansas.
  20. When I went to visit the Alamo several years ago I stayed at the Escapees Co-Op nearby in Hondo TX and drove my Jeep into San Antonio to visit the Alamo. Much easier that trying to find RV parking in town.
  21. I worked a couple of months at Dreamcatcher, Escapees owned park in NM. Many boondockers would come in once a week and dry camp one night for $7. While there they would dump and flush, fill the fresh water tank, and shower, all included in the one nigh fee of $7. For an extra charge they would do their laundry.
  22. You can buy an extended warranty after the original purchase, but many company's will only go up to 5 or so years out. After that you may not be able to purchase one. Extended warranties are great for vehicles with a motor or transmission, which are expensive repairs, but may not be as good financially for a travel trailer. Additionally many of the components have 2 year or longer warranties of their own from their manufacturer beyond the RV manufacturers warranty, which is normally only 1 year.
  23. I disagree with Kirk as to it would be dishonest or unethical. Your employer can not tell you that you have to live in a house that you own or rent or that you can not live in an apartment, or with other family members etc. You can live anywhere you want to as long as it does not affect your job performance. As to health insurance, the insurance company may be able to limit coverage to a particular State so that must be addressed.
  24. Be careful of valve extensions. Just another place for air to leak. I put longer stems on my dually. Got them from a truck stop. Had to have the tire removed and remounted but I don't have to worry about an extension leaking. Just attached the sensor to the end of the stem.
