  1. Go or call your local VA Hospital and ask them. I believe for emergency care you can go anywhere.
  2. You would pay property tax AND State income tax on any net rental income as a non resident as I already stated.
  3. You can own property anywhere without making it your residence. I had 3 rental properties in CA using an Escapees address in So Dakota as my domicile. I did have to file a non resident income tax return in CA for the rental income.
  4. I have a 2015 Itasca Ellipse that I purchased in 2017. It has stackable Splendide washer and dryer. Both have worked with no problems to date. However, last laundry day the dryer ran and was warm but would not get hot. I had to run it 3x to get the clothes dry. I ALWAYS clean the lint trap each time. I suspected that maybe the vent was cloged but air is coming out the outside vent. The air coming out is warm but not hot. Any sugestions?
  5. Got a call from Flathead Lake, a State Park near Glacier NP, yesterday. They are looking for a campground host.
  6. Just got a call from Flat Head Lake MT. It's a State Park. They are currently looking for a camp ground host.
  7. I have used Casino parking lots many times for a 1 night stay while traveling as an option to a rest stop. Always go inside and get something to eat as a way of thanking them, but try to stay away from the slot machines, lol lol lol. It could end up being a very costly overnight stay.
  8. Price depends on location and season. I have a big rig and live in it full time so National Parks are not an option except for a short 2 or 3 day stay. Most don't have any hookups. But with my Senior discount I can stay for less than $20. Most Escapee Parks and Co-Ops are around $25 a day. Most private parks with big rig sites and FHU are running $55 to $65 a night. You can get less with a P/A membership but they have lots of restrictions like only discount for 1 to 3 days and no weekends. Parks in popular areas (think AZ or FL in winter) are going for $75 to $85 for a night and some are over $100. Staying for a week or month will cost less per day but many Resorts are over $1,000 for a month stay. No more are the days of $25 to $35 a night.
  9. They charged you for winterizing but did not perform the service. That is theft by false pretense, which resulted in damages to your RV. Definitely consult a lawyer.
  10. I have been full time now 9 years. I ususlly stay in one place for several months. A summer stay and a winter stay. In the past I only had to book a site about 3 months in advance. Now it is at least 6 months and sometimes 1 yr, booking my return before I leave. I am in FL for the winter and have been told by many RV parks that they are not going to do monthly reservations any more and require a 12 month lease. I have also been volunteering in State Parks and National Parks summers past. Last summer the campground I was hosting was sold out even on week nights. I just booked 4 weekdays at Glacier NP for myself for the end of Aug and was told I got the last spot. I have an all electric Class A and don't boondock often. Need the electric to run the A/C for the dog. And most State and National Parks have a 14 day max. Additionally, I very rarely can get a site for $35 to $45 a night anymore. Prices have gone up and are averaging $65 to $85 a night at most private RV Parks.
  11. First you must join Escapees, if you have not already done so Second, you must sign up for Escapees mail forwarding service to get an address. You have the option of choosing TX, FL or SD. Third, you would then go to DMV and get a driver's license, and register your vehicles. Don't forget to change your mailing address with your banks and get new vehicle insurance in the new State There is a ton of info on which State to choose and how to do this. You can call Escapees for help and talk to Loring & Asso. for help.
  12. Will this 3G shutdown affect newer 5G phones, tablets or hot spots?
  13. I have used the TSD card for over a year and have never had any problems with my bank account. At first Loves was the best discount. Now it appears that TA is best. Flying J does not offer a TSD discount due to its affiliation with Good Sam. Before I had the TSD card I did use the Good Sam discount but it was only about .06 cents. TSD averages about .25 to .50 cents a gal of diesel.
  14. Go to CVS, Bed Bath & Beyond, Pets Smart, Best Buy etc and if you give them you phone or email to get rewards you will be barrage with texts and emails. I stopped all rewards programs for this reason.
  15. I am looking to buy an RV lot in the Sarasota, Bradenton, Palmetto, Ellington FL area. Found some nice ones in Ft Myers but prefer to be near Sarasota. Many Park Models but no RV lots for sale. Can only find seasonal rental lots in RV Resorts. I would like to own a home base.
  16. I have never been to Glacier NP and am planning a trip next Aug. I have a 43 foot DP and it looks like all of the campgrounds have a max limit of 40 feet. What nearby parks would be good for a 3 or 4 day stay? How far is Flathead Lake from the park? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
  17. I used Bank of the Ozarks, nob Bank OZK. Got a good rate from them.
  18. I worked a short time at a KOA and the owner advised me that in addition to a monthly franchise fee, he paid a percentage of the base campground fee to KOA corporate, but any add on fees were all his. That is why they keep on adding. The additional fees for upgraded amenities go in his pocket.

I am planning on going to DC for Memorial Day Weekend. Looking for camp ground recommendations. I have stayed at Cherry Hill once and may go back there but their prices have gone way up. I have a 43 foot diesel pusher so need a big rig site. Thanks in advance.
  20. Jeep Wranglers are the most popular towed vehicles.
  21. The TSD card does not have a monthly or annual fee, the Escapees card does. The TSD card charges a transaction fee, the Escapees does not have a transaction fee. The TSD card discount is only for diesel, the Escapees card offers a discount for diesel and gas. The amount of the discount varies depending on the station. It appears that the TSD card is in network at more locations. The Escapees in network appears to have fewer stations.
  22. Saguaro Co- Op in Benson, AZ has a table inside the clubhouse that you can leave items you no longer want and take items someone else has left.
  23. Bank of the Ozarks, now Bank OZK, gave me a good deal a few years ago.
  24. As Linda said, if you don't own a home and have a homeowners policy, make sure you have full time liability coverage and not just collision liability coverage. Also make sure you have contents coverage to cover all your belongings, clothing, dishes, tools etc. I have Geico for my Class A, Jeep, and Harley, as well as an umbrella policy, using the Escapees SD address. Great low premium and service. No brokers so you have to call them direct.
  25. Escapees mail forwarding offers TX, FL or SD as Domicle options. Some of the advantages of using SD is that you only have to spend 1 night to get a driver's license good for 5 years and you can renew your vehicle registration by mail, no inspection needed. Additionally, your insurance premiums will be less in SD. If you ever purchase another vehicle, the sales tax is only 4%. And there is no income tax in SD
