  1. Have any of you had a Federal Jury Duty Simmons in Bueanmont District Court? How did you handle it? Did the Court Clerk understand your situation as a member of the Escapees?
  2. I have been using RVTripWizard for several years and like it. But heard about a new AI site, AdventureGenie.com. If you have used it, please share a bit about your experiences with it. Are there any other AI trip-planning tools that you would recommend? Thanks, Bob Dees
  3. Unfortunately, there are circumstances when you cannot file online, i.e. adding additional documentation. etc.
  4. Our RV has been vandalized at PPL in Houston where it was waiting for repair. Thieves stole Catalytic Converters from 15 E 450's in the lot in one night. We also had a Travel Trailer vandalized at a storage unit in Baytown with 1K + of fear taken. We are going full-time in August and I am concerned about theft. Do any of you have any great ideas for security cameras etc for Motor Homes, especially while in storage?
  5. We have had recurring problems with USPS losing mail over the last two years, including a lost application for Escapees mail service and our 2021 1040. Nor sure I am willing to trust USPS any longer. Have filed a complaint but this went no where a couple years ago with a related problem. Unfortunately, USPS has a monopoly on dellievering US Tax forms. Nort sure what I will do if I cannot file online in the future.
  6. sandsys, that is a great idea about using our packing cubes. Now I am wondering how we can use them in other ways. Thank you!
  7. Thanks for the info about the 8 year license. Not sure which one we are on. Very Helpful.
  8. Thanks, everyone. It takes a village to raise a baby fulltimer!
  9. We are going Full Time this Summer. We have lived in Harris County Texas for 20 years. Will this simplify establishing our Domicile in Livingston? Thanks, we are looking forward to life on the road. Bob Dees
  10. Today we had a flat on our Class C in the middle of Beeville, Texas. The curved extension on the tire stem had sheared off at my TPMS Sensor. I called Escapees RA and I had a local service man there within an hour. He would have been sooner but was on a tow when he got my call. He had my tire changed using my onboard spare and took off. We were ready to hit the road when my tire would not move. I called him back and and he was there in five minutes. It seems that etrailer, after guaranteeing that the rim for my spare would work, was very, very wrong. The rim was binding on the calipers in the wheel. The RA tech took my old tire to a shop and had a new tire stem installed. He was back with an hour and I was on the road within 2.5 hours of my first call. It was all covered by the RA program. Now all I have to do is find new tire stems and/or TPMS sensors and then have a deep conversation with etrailer about the wheel and get a new wheel for my spare. But at least I am on the road and enjoying the rest of our trip thanks to Escapees Road side Assistance. This was my first time using it in the 5 years I have carried it and it was worth every penny. Thanks JR Roadside Service and Escapees for being there when we needed you. Bob Dees
  11. We just rebooked our trip to New England to avoid the Deep South. With vaccination rates under 40% and the recent storm damage, we just decided that the risk was not worth it. We are taking a more northern route and will only be doing overnights through LA and AR. I feel bad for the folks along I 10, but we are just not comfortable going through their and Alabama right now. Here in Houston folks are still wearing masks and maintaining a respectable distance. But in the last week the numbers of masked people is beginning to fall. Have masks, Will Travel! (And keep my distance, etc. etc.)
  12. We started with tent camping when the kids were little. Bought a lightweight Tent Trailer when is was just the two of us. Then followed the typical stages of TT and now a Class C. My main reasons for the Class C are ease of setup, room inside, and not having to drive a large pickup full-time whether we were traveling or not. We tow a Jeep to see the sites. None of this is inexpensive and without maintenance or headaches, but for us, our Class C is small enough to enjoy national parks but big enough to be on the road for months at a time. Mostly, it is all about enjoying the journey, As Gandalf said, "Not all who wander are lost."
  13. I second the idea of getting a Viair for your MH. I check my tires constantly. I have a Tire Pressure Monitoring System for when we are driving but I still do the air gauge every time we head out for the day. I am just not comfortable with the risks that come with low tire pressure. Having the Viair is just a little bit of security that makes our travel days less stressful.
  14. You and your husband are facing all kinds of changes and that always creates stress. The effect is cumulative. We spent two years going through all of this and it was still loaded with more than a few moments when one or both of us were overwhelmed. Ass all you friends on this thread have said. Keep talking. Give each other room. Take a break. (We took a trip to Hawaii.) Enjoy each day just for what it is, your lives together. My best suggestion? Just keep breathing!
