HICKSCO WROTE: Have you tried to use Mrs Dash seasonings? There are so many choices and it really adds great flavor

Yep I use Dash on everything. I also use garlic powder (Not garlic salt) on most things.

We're back at the Lazy L&L in New Braunfels. The winds blew hard here yesterday, gusts over 50 mph. Last night we had a potluck dinner where the dish had to have alcohol in the ingredients. Some great food. I turned in my Elks application about 2 weeks ago, hope I'm in by the end of March. Sunny and around 70 for the next week.

Be safe everyone.

Jeff

Jeff, did you need a sponsor and what Elks Lodge would accept you? That came out sounding wrong! I've been thinking of doing the same. I used to be an Elk but let my membership lapse.

Joining the Elks was one of the best things we did. We've found great places to park using their facilities. Most of the time you can get the bartender to sponsor you. The lodge gets the dues and you get the parks.

There certainly was wind in the Phoenix area Sunday. I'd like to see that wind just blow itself away. There was no wind in Washington when I flew in yesterday either but just a lot of rain in the morning which opened to beautiful blue skies. Who knows what today will be. Probably wont matter much anyway since I'm heading back to Arizona early evening. With a little luck we will be heading out the end of the week ---- about time too.

Wind started here about 10 am and lasted until dark 30. Nice this morning. (26 deg.) We are heading to "The Ranch" today. It will take two days to get there. We are in Naco, Az. Good Dentist on the other side of the fence.

We will stay tonight in Las Crusis, NM. then to (our winter home).

I know D has been posting, but I will chip in and say "Great to meet everone at Q".

Safe travels

See you next year, if not sooner

Glyn

And, we SO enjoyed our time with you both at the fairgrounds in Tucson! Thanks for taking the recliner from us... hope it is working out for you... and we love the tv trays! Sorry you will be gone from The Ranch by the time we get to Roswell, but sure look forward to more visits down the road! Be safe, and we wish you great adventures! Dianne (Tom, too)

Roger, I took the app. to the New Braunfels Lodge. The lady bartender said she would get a couple of people the sponsor me. I'm thinking about giving them a call or stopping in to see how the process is going.:) I'd like to be in before the end of March.

Darn, no wonder I can't get anybody to go get stuff for me. With Deb out there with her AK47, gophers are hard to find.

Jeff, I called my old lodge in Iowa City and probably talked to the bartender. He said that it would cost me $100 to get reinstated and the yearly dues there was $285...ouch! Didn't know that I used to belong to such an exclusive club. No wonder that I let my membership lapse. I'd have to stay at a lot of Elks to justify that. Heck, the SKP's let me in for only $60/yr!

Hi

I am confessing before I get in trouble. I thought that to go somewhere in an RV the law was. It was up-hill and into the wind.(right or wrong?) For the last two days the wind was to our back and from Cloudcroft, NM to Lakewood it is down hill. 5000 ft down in 100 miles.LOL

Good to be back at Lakewood. Three weeks and we go again. Now moss on the wheels.

Not too awake tonight. I had leg cramps this morning about 1:00 AM and have been awake every since. I took a quinine pill but it didn' t help. I hope I do better tonight.

Cramps are killers. Where do you get quinine? I'd love to get some.

Sounds you need to find a different lodge with lower dues. I think the dues probably vary from location to location. We pay something like $100 a year and it is definitely well worth it for us.

Oh Ya you need to look around. Just got the bill for my local lodge and it's $108.00. Recommend you find one with cheaper dues then re instate your membership and transfer. Just my .02

Think that's what I'll do...there's a "hole in the wall" lodge back in the Quad Cities with no golf course, etc. Gotta be cheaper. I'll check it out when we get back that way...thanks for the 2 cents everyone!

Roger I think the dues here in New Braunfels are $85 for a year. I would check other lodges.

Almost back to normal now. We put an ad on the local bulletin board and got a great television. Smaller than the original but newer with more bells and whistles. A Vizio for $120. We think we did great. The seller is another full-timer so we had to chat awhile.

Our son, the electrician, is quite confident he can rebuild our converter when we get back to BC.

Cramps are killers. Where do you get quinine? I'd love to get some.

I buy them at Wal-Mart pharmacy non prescription. they are in a tiny plastic bottle with the label " Hyland's Leg Cramps with Quinine". When I can't find them I just drink Quinine water like you use to mix drinks with. Or, when a friend goes to Mexico I ask them to bring me some Quinine tablets back.

We are heading toward New Orleans also. Should be there the 1st of March. Will be boondocking at Boomtown Casino for about 4 days. Maybe we can meet up somewhere?

[/quote

Ed & Linda, we are in the Marti Gras RV park just on the New Orleans side of lake Ponchitrain. We are waiting on mail, (supposed to be here today), to see if we are leaving tomorrow or not. We were supposed to leave Friday, but our appointment Monday at MCD innovations in McKinney, Texas depends on the letter we are supposed to get from them today with samples of what they have on hand. If we don't like one of them (they are out of the one we really wanted  ), then we will hang around here another week. Lots of things to see and food to eat. If that is the case, we will get ahold of you guys and see if we can meet up. :D Steve

I'm sitting in my membership park trying to make four days worth of food last a week so I don't have to unhook and move twice in one week since my time is up here the 7th. I don't mind going to the bar to eat lunch but their food is not THAT good. They do sell some food in the store here but the selection is not wonderful; wonder how long I can live on chicken noodle soup?

I use the Hylands. Usually takes 4. Use t be able to get stronger does of quinine but it's been all but removed from the market.
