Medicare Advantage or the Original Medicare?
sandsys replied to Kirk W's topic in Health Issues and Medical Insurance
My medicare advantage plan pays well. I just had major surgery that cost me only $400 out of the thousands billed. For dental I can have two fillings and an extraction per year. They also pay for a pair of glasses every year. But I don't need all of that every year. I take a medicine that is $245 a month but I certainly don't pay that, either. I have Humana Choice. Linda -
I looked it up. Stands for "fixed that for you". Apparently Don thinks adding Bigfoot needed doing. Linda

That "welcome hone" made me cry. So many of our service men and women did not receive a welcome home on arrival back stateside. I'm glad they are finally getting it now. Linda Sand

Lake Havasu, Arizona, has lots of RVers. Both with and without houses. So does Yuma. Quartzite, the home of the big RV show in January, has some, too, but you have to be willing to put up with the crowds in January and not much in the way of amenities at any time. None those are particularly close to British Columbia, though. Linda

New Member Question About South Dakota Domicle
sandsys replied to Pleiades's topic in Beginning RVing
I've been wondering this ever since Escapees opened those limited service facilities in South Dakota and Florida. I look forward to receiving an answer. Linda -
In Minnesota you can do a version this. Since the late 1970s if my memory is correct. People were so happy to learn they could tow their boat behind their 5th wheel. We were still in a tent camper, though, and only owned a canoe for a boat. Linda

Yay for Ft Morgan RV Park and all helpful people everywhere. I hope your wife's recovery goes well. Linda

During the 70 mph winds we sat out, we were in a Class C in the desert so we just kept turning in to the wind whenever it changed direction. Otherwise, I would have been the one sick. The things you learn as a full timer! Linda

Check the League of Women Voters website. I got a lot of information from them on candidates including those for my local school board. They are a non-partisan group. We apparently have a hot race for school board here as I got lots of brochures sent to me as well for that particular race. Linda Sand

Drive about 3 hours on I-90 to Austin, MN. Stay at Myre-Big Island State Park (limited sites right now so call first). Visit the Spam Museum. Linda 507-379-3403 park phone number https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/park.html?id=spk00175#homepage -
Our daughter's problem was with her ligaments. The doctor told her she was a loose woman. Arnworker might be saying he had his ligaments tightened rather than having knee replacements due to arthritis. Linda

On my van my panels didn't need to be high so we used z brackets held on with 3M VHB tape. No holes anywhere and they held up just fine. Last I heard it had been five years and they were still holding. Linda

That happened to our daughter her first day of senior high school but Dave had to push it back into place. She got a brace and crutches until it healed. It has never happened again. Linda

Wisconsin Dells Year Round RV Parks
sandsys replied to Alie&Jim's Carrilite's topic in General RV Information
Year around is pretty comprehensive. What days are you actually looking for? And what level of amenities? Just electric is easier than full hookup. That said, if you want to go by way of Mpls/St Paul, there is a year round park with hookups at a casino south of the Twin Cities. Linda -
Full timer RV insurance suggestions

We went with Foremost back in 2008 after finding out the Progressive policy we bought didn't cover us with only a Class B. Progressive did refund our money. I don't have any current experience, though, since I sold my last Class B several years ago. Linda Sand -
Our checks have a printed address that is six years out of date. I know that because I just dug the checkbook out to look. On the rare occasion when I write a check, I can paste a return address label over the old address if I think to do it. Linda

My first shot was in the wrong place. My second doctor got it right, it didn't hurt while receiving it, and it let me travel through London's underground system without pain. Doing all the therapy is important. I didn't get my knees fully straight and that has affected my ability to walk without lower back pain. The improvements are huge! I regained my ability to walk up and down stairs without pain. I highly recommend doing this surgery to anyone who wants their pain to decrease instead of increase. Linda

I was told anesthesiology is a separate category because you don't get to choose the anesthesiologist--the hospital assigns one. So, even if there is no agreement per se the anesthesiologist has to accept the Medicare rate. BTW, the entire rest of my surgery was covered except for my $250 copay. $400 for a major surgery ($150 for the anesthesiologist) feels like a win to me. Linda

I don't know what brand my macerator was. What I do know is that, when it is kept running after the tank empties it can throw a circuit breaker. I thought my macerator needed to be replaced after my daughter did my dumping but the tech checked the breaker and, once he threw it back, everything worked fine. Linda
