  1. We are hunkered down in S&B in West Trxas. I am trying to stay sane doing un-needed and expensive projects,ie installing new electric outlets in the garage. All of our Spring trips have been cancelled and I am now starting to cancel Summer Trips. With the cancellation of ESCAPADE the trip to Wyoming will be cancelled. Everyone stay safe and try to remain sane. ShortyO

  3. I worked for 30+ years in an industry that depended upon Duct Tape and Cap wire or pin flags to survive. Cap wire was the wire from the blaster to the detonation cap for dynamite while pin flags were the wire flags you see on surveyed lines. ShortyO

  5. I have been running Yokohama RY-617's on both Steer & Drive for 8 years. I chose Yokohama upon reccommendation of a local Oil Patch tiere shop and the fact they are made in West Point, MS. ShortyO
  6. I would mount an air ride hitch between the frame aft of the commercial hitch low enough that tit would not interfere with your commercial setup. My ET is aft of the reR TANDEM. JMHO ShortyO
  7. I double tower a Smart4Two behind our 37 ft. 5er and Volvo VNL 610 for two years with no trouble. Went from West Texas to east Tennessee,, down through Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and then to New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Coloardo with no trouble at all. I was just short of 80 feet. I even got caught in an HOV lane with heavy traffic in Nashville. I got some ONE FINGER SALUTES during this experience. ShortyO

  11. I have purchased Volvo parts from: class8truckparts.com. Not much cheaper than local dealer, but genuine Volvo. ShortyO
  12. Rio Chama is closed for the winter. They will open about 01 May. There are quite a few of us that spend most of the summer there. They have back in sites, head in sites and pull thrus. 30 amp and 59 amp. It is not a resort type setting as there is now pool or rec hall. We all just enjoy the quiet and cool. ShortyO WE have been camping here since 2001.
  13. We spend most of Aug & Sept at Rio Chama RV Park in Chama, NM 7800 ft. elevation and less than $600.00 per month. Bonus is a daily steam train. Will be in space N-11 this year. ShortyO

  17. If steam railroads interest you, Chama, NM is a great summer place. The Cumbtres & Toltec offers daily trains from Chama to Antonito, CO. Chama is 100 miles from Santa Fe and 120 miles from Durango, CO. The Durango and Silverton is another steam train ride. Alamosa, CO is 80 miles away and offers a standard gauge train ride daily to La Veta, CO. and return. Chama is 7900 ft elevation. ShortyO

  22. The rear axle wheel bearings are lubed with differential grease. This should be checked by removing a plug on the differential cover and checking for lubricant with your index finger. Most lube shops will check thin during a routine lubr job. ShortyO
