  1. bigjim, I think they are good products, when used properly. For instance I have a fiberglass roof, petroleum byproducts are not a major concern for me, but, there is nothing on the labels I've read that says UV resistant/proof. I now have a plastic piece I painted with that white paint sitting outside my garage-time will tell.

Years ago a magazine-type map of each county in a state was sold in mainly truck stops and such places. I think it was called the gazetteer and showed every road from dirt to paved in the county. Apparently Garmin now owns the company, and have increased them to state size.
  3. Ya, when I had a '96 Dodge CTD I got a bath the first time I used the large nozzle, not pleasant. A lesson I never forgot. I think it filled my tank in less than 2 minutes.
  4. No I'm not sure, I just saw that Dometic advertisement states it does and shows that picture. That's why I suggested the Snip the Tip adjustable thermister if moving the original doesn't help. Edit: Strange, I had included a link to the Dometic webpage that had that picture???? Here it is again: https://www.dometic.com/en-us/us/products/food-and-beverage/rv,-boat-and-truck-refrigerators/rv-refrigerators/dometic-dm-2672-_-183073 Ah-Ha! I forgot to post that link as plain text first time, my bad. Anyway, you are right, the add is misleading.
  5. This document shows a Dometic DM2672 does have a temperature adjustment. https://www.dometic.com/en-us/us/products/food-and-beverage/rv,-boat-and-truck-refrigerators/rv-refrigerators/dometic-dm-2672-_-183073 If moving the thermister doesn't affect temperature, and there is actually no temperature adjustment; you may wish to install a Snip-the-Tip adjustable thermister, This video shows how:
  6. Some of the Flex Seal products state on the label they contain petroleum byproducts. I bought a can of white paint stuff, didn't read the label first.🤐

Kirk I visited the escapade 2020 link, it says cancelled, but I didn't seen a link to the CG. What did I miss? We could not attend anyway, we don't know when Mayo Clinic will call to schedule Lin's appt., I was simply curious.
  8. I think 33-34° is great, especially this summer when doors are being opened frequently and warmer foods/leftovers/sodas are being placed inside. If items begin to freeze and you desire a warmer temperature, move the thermister holder one fin to the left, then measure temperature 24hrs later. Re-adjust thermister accordingly.

    m2 106 air leaks

I constructed 4 wooden ramps from 2"X10" used lumber, cut 45° on one end, each plank 12" shorter than the longest 4' board - the lower one, stacked 3 high and fastened together with deck screws. Only 2 ramps are needed for front tires, but 4 must be used for duals. Drove MH onto ramps, blocked under frame. Yes, they are heavy to move around, but entirely safe for working underneath the MH. Instead of soapy water, I use cheap bubble soap for kids from a Dollar store.
  10. Telling us the model of your Dometic refrigerator will be of great help, as each model has different controls.

    m2 106 air leaks

Would you believe a company that manufactures push-in air fittings?https://www.airliftcompany.com/workshop/push-to-connect-air-fittings/

    m2 106 air leaks

And if the end it not cut exactly square it leaks eventually, as it seals against an "O" ring. This short video show how to use Push-to-connect fittings (pardon the strong British accent): hemsteadc, working underneath a vehicle with air springs requires some safety measures. The first is to block under the frame to prevent a total loss of air from pinning a worker or suffocating them. This allows you to remove or detach an air line while there is no air in the system. Over time connections loosen, corrode, and/or rubber hardens; this is normal as vehicles age. My second safety measure is, I never crawl underneath a vehicle without first telling someone my plans, including time-frame.
  13. If directions are not followed exactly, the roof tapes do not hold as well as they should. I used it around my refrigerator roof vent last week, I have carried that roll of tape since we purchased the MH in 2013 for emergency repairs, figured I'd better use it or lose it.
  14. When filling my Dmax dually, I could use a HDT fuel nozzle only if I feathered the flow to as slow as possible and the auto nozzle on full-flow. I always suspected the problem with using the large nozzle was the fuel tank vent being too small to exhaust air as fast as the tank was filled. Our MH presents a problem because the fill makes a 90° turn 4" from the fuel cap, splash-back triggers the over-fill backup device in the nozzles. I can only use the HDT nozzle if I hold it upsidedown and pointed towards the tank.I finally timed filling with HDT vs auto nozzle, to pump ~75G took ~3 minutes longer with the auto nozzle. Not enough time to sneeze at IMO, so now I find the auto nozzle and avoid having to stand and hold the large nozzle.
  15. For that slow a leak, I might suspect a leak in the rim, sometimes they are very difficult to detect.

    Memorial Day

"Taps across America", is set up for anyone who wishes to sound taps from their front porch or lawn at 3PM Memorial Day to honor all who gave all, since customary gatherings will not happen this year. Derek your heartfelt poem is excellent, thank you for sharing with us.
  17. Yes, and manually downshift when beginning the downgrade. The retard feature works well, but with the transmission in a lower gear(not in overdrive) the tow/haul feature is amplified. I drove this route with my 02 Duramax dually towing a 40' 15,500# 5er in 2005. Go slow downhill is key, at least until you learn how your truck acts/reacts. A side note, stop in Havre, MT and tour Havre underground. There is a quaint motel/RV park on the E side of Havre.
  18. Call Canada Border Services to get the correct current information. I read that CBSA pdf, it does not specify a maximum amount.
  19. I read yesterday River Plantation RV resort in Sieverville TN was mostly vacant during April and May, June is fully-booked. irv2.com maintains their plans to hold their national rally there in Oct.
  20. Just read about River Plantation in Seiverville, TN. Business was slow for Mar, Apr. Booked solid for June. Quote: "At about the same time I wrote the above article from a 1st person interview with the River Plantation RV Resort, the representative shared with me that the resort was up-ticking in reservations and that the month of June was sold out. New reservations were overshadowing cancellations previously made regarding virus concerns."
  21. I bought the RM7730 in 2009 I think, it is serial #000125. Bought the RVND 7 last year-black Friday for $169. They have performed well for me.
  22. I have two Rand McNally RVND units (a 7730 and a newer 7) that have everything to avoid unsuitable routes, IF you enter the correct data for your rig.
  23. When the thermocouple is not attached, the fridge goes into high-cooling mode. When not working the fridge does not cool properly. Determining why is the next process. Dometic Service tips: http://rvrefrigeratorrepair.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Dometic-Service-RM2612.pdf
