  1. Cut N paste from my settings: Feature update to Windows 10, version 22H2 Successfully installed on ‎07/‎24/‎23 For some reason there is not a kbxxxxxxxx though. All total it shows my computer has received and installed 84 updates since 05/07/22.
  2. Tonight I again got updates for 22H2 on the desktop. Perhaps Microsoft is re-thinking retiring W 10, given the dismal roll-out of W 11? A couple months ago I read an article about Microsoft working on a Windows 12 edition.
  3. I agree with you having the A/T fluid replaced, if the tranny overheated the fluid is ruined anyway. If the sensor just said it was overheated, it's a safe bet anyway. I had the fluid N filters replaced in my Allison 3000 and on the way home it was obvious the tranny worked much better.
  4. I agree. In a MH the hardest part would be installing the condensate drain. the air ductwork installed as you said would be a tremendous aid. If an RV has a booth dinette, under a seat would be a great location for installation.
  5. My desktop machine received a W10(dual-boot with Linux 19.2 Cinnamon) feature update for 22H2 Friday night, along with 3 more various updates. Seems like Cinnamon gets updates every day.
  6. Their new approach with advertising, coupled with the drastic price reductions will, IMO keep other EV mfgrs. on their toes if they want to remain in the EV business.
  7. Here is another option: https://www.pioneerminisplit.com/products/pioneer-9-000-btu-under-bench-rv-heat-pump-air-conditioner?variant=39894059122730&currency=USD I've no clue why they refer to it as a mini-split, it's an all in one cabinet unit.
  8. We trained ourselves to sleep with a white noise machine running, which worked out great. We could overnight in a rest area with HDT's idling right beside the RV and their noise didn't bother our sleep. If you can do the same listening to your portable A/C unit, it might work out to your advantage.

    Hail no!

We got the remnants of that storm system Sunday morning. Heavy rain, wind, pea and marble size hail for about an hour. It was funny watching hail bounce off the roof, still haven't inspected the shingles for damage; gotta get my spotting scope out of the safe tonight.
  10. https://www.rvtravel.com/fmca-president-candidate-curtis-coleman-explains-plans-elected/ The way elections work is; no member gets to vote directly for president of FMCA. Only chapter members vote at their chapter meeting, their chapter president then votes at the national rally for president. If you do not belong to a chapter you have no vote. That's my understanding of the process.

    Who knew?

Up until today IMO they were a result of the saying "RV trash", and to poke fun at the saying.. Travelers shocked to discover hidden meaning of pink flamingos at RV parks (msn.com)
  12. Many years ago someone posted their 12V solenoid-operated water saving device. It had a push button at each faucet. You held down the button until a sensor detected hot water, then it stopped returning cold water to the fresh tank and allowed hot water to the shower head or faucet. Does anyone remember anything about that? I cannot find anything with my searches. UDATE: Someone found the modern version. Question answered, thanks for reading: https://showermiser.com/
  13. That is brand-new, I'm anxious to find out the details or how it all occurs. I wonder if Home Depot acts as a middleman or a remote outlet. It will sure benefit those retires (me) who live over 100 miles from a military exchange.
  14. I agree. Small claims court is a viable option, and the publicity would certainly be a factor. All he has to do is present proof the tanks were empty when he dropped-off the trailer at the dealers.
  15. Read this thread about installing a portable A/C unit in a cabinet.
  16. The Army Air Force exchange has something new. The exchange has partnered with Home Depot to sell large/major appliances. I received this exchange email Saturday: https://www.shopmyexchange.com/a/3539981?iid=home-depot&lid=i2lsg057uwio&br_id=30604874156&br_c=23_0716_1_natIcecream&br_app=EC&mi_u=30604874156&mi_emcp=23_0716_1_natIcecream
  17. I installed 3 Renogy AGM batteries last May, cleaned all the battery cable ends then, but didn't clean the ends at the inverter. I know the internal cooling fan is bad, if I can find a suitable replacement I'll do that too. The fan is about the only thing user-replacable AFAIK.
  18. Thank you for enlightening me about the hard-reset, I'll try that this weekend. I've been clearing the faults about once a week. Xantrex inverters are the Rolls-Royce of inverters. Their most common use is in the boating industry. Hart was the best, but sadly the business is gone.
  19. I remember in the 1980's the Commissary powers that be, decided they were getting too many complaints from town neighboring military installations about undercutting their prices. Not long afterwards Commissary prices began to rise. By the time I retired in 1992 it was cheaper to shop off-base. I still receive emails from the Exchange, but when I sign-in to their website, I can go buy athletic stuff, fishing gear, etc. for less at Dicks Sporting Goods, often the same brand name. And the DOD is concerned about the low rate of volunteers for the military___. I see now they have lowered the fitness standards yet again to attract more volunteers. The army is even running a fat camp to prepare potential recruits for active duty. I can't say how I feel about all that without being banned from the forums.
  20. Sadly the Xantrex RS models are obsolete and not supported. Even the replacements the 2012 and 2013 is now obsolete. My RS2000 displays a fault warning every time I plug into shore power, and it takes repeating that act then pushing reset on the front panel to get it to begin charging the batteries. Xantrex website and tech support says there are only a few user repairable parts inside, cooling fans, etc. Xantrex has authorized repair shops scattered about the country, most are near large bodies of water as watercraft is their main market. Xantrex website has a page listing all their authorized repair centers. There were several in California, some in FL, a few around the Great Lakes, and the only other I remember was in TN near their big lake.
  21. The Escapees discussion forums are in better shape than some other RVing forums.
  22. I would expect about the same results as washing a car and windows in hot weather and bright sun. If you're concerned, spray a light mist on the roof first, the evaporation should cool them some. That's what I do when washing vehicles in the sun.
  23. However much of that hourly rate goes for liability ins. personal ins. retirement fund, licensing, SS "contributions", etc.
  24. Yep, Dometic has the condensate hose directed out through the vent slots. Norcold has the condensate hose in an evaporator cup attached to the heater box. Same result, different methods. The button with small holes in the end of the hose is to reduce warm outside air getting back up the hose into the fridge, plus keep small insects out.
  25. Didn't Escapees create a new website or other type site (excapeers?) for younger members a several years ago? What was the expectation, for those younger members to transition here as they age?
