  1. a friend just asked me tonight about snow chains on a bumper pull rv. this is something i have never though any of before. sure some kind of traction adding is good for ice. just wondering what any out there have done?
  2. the number do not lie, the USA is number 28 in line of countries for gun deaths and we here have millions of registered guns in legal hands, that have never been used in any crime. and then billions of rounds? obama was a great gun seller, so many were bought under his term, and now biden has eclipsed him and not even through his fist year. i just hope all the new owners learn the safe and correct way to handle a gun. Knowledge is far more powerful than a bullet. the five points to remember for your life. family, faith, friends, firearms, freedom.
  3. thanks to the governor of ca shutting down ca, i can not even find a tax place open.
  4. sad but even here in ca. it is legal to buy a gun out of state. just the hoops one has to go through as gun sales are controlled federally, not by states. but then said gun must be legal in the buyers state. as one also needs a ffl dealer in the buyers state and one in sellers state to go with the deal. so in the long run it could cost up to double what the gun cost to begin with. as both ffls charge a "fee", then the ffl transfer fee, added tax, both states tax you, then the state "fees"aka: gun tax, etc. some states ffl dealers will sell to a buyer from another state, as this is how it should be anyhow. as one can buy everything else in another state why not guns. (all new, some used guns go through a ffl dealer so there is a paper trail in the loop). yes some states do allow privet sales, and such should be legal as you can sell most everything else one to one and no government bureaucrat problems in the way. No law will keep a bad guy from getting a gun.
  5. big question. first a 3000watt gen at a min. but must be quiet. (honda eu 3000, and a couple after market things -fuel extender, remote start-). but even out away from everybody the sound carry's a very long ways. and you will need a large gasoline supply. solar. would need better than a 9K watt system. and at least 6 (more?) of the new li-po batteries. as to the ac? i do not know about the mini split systems, but here lots of good there. if just a rv ac, then get a soft start installed.
  6. less air will soften the ride. but you better have a onboard way to re air the tires back to correct psi. on my cj-7 i drop down to 5 psi. 35X8X15 and simple steel rims, no bead lock required. in the decades of use never poped a bead. but that is ONLY for off road usage. heck dirt roads get full psi.
  7. if you get a winch, have it very well mounted to the FRAME. with many points of mounting. get a couple heavy snatch blocks, 30 feet of chain(dot rated), a 30 ft jerk strap, tree truck protector, number of D rings, roll of 90 mph tape, couple pairs of gloves, heavy packing blankets (dead drop weight thing), very heavy sheep herders jack, more "stuff" as you see fit. but mostly learn how to use the winch correctly first. as to wiring it in. can you place a large batt close to it? saves on the wiring problems. mostly a winch is just dead weight (and they are heavy), and a empty pocket. but if needed and is the only thing possible. it is worth its weight in gold.
  8. decades back on a new toy truck, a coil wire got bumped, and had a no start. the factory making the wire harness did just that the crimp was on the plastic not the metal of the wire. co$t$ a lot to fix, and the head aches, for something so simple.
  9. the motor trike is no longer sold cause of people getting there legs ripped apart by a rear tire. mostly drunks, or people doing stupid. a foot would fall off a peg and get run over while you are still sitting on it. the quads have a floor plate so the problem never showed its self there. and as to a pedal powered trike. the more "junk" on it the harder to pedal. i have known a couple people with recumbent bikes, they loved them. (one guy road in the mts on his) the body styles allow you to ride in colder weather. but start getting heavy fast.
  10. if a state does something like this then just let the governor know your moneys will be spent in another state. (not just for guns or freedoms, but everything).
  11. sorry to hear about your loss. i for one am forced (family/money) to stay here another six years. then out never to return, except maybe a visit or for the weather. sure ca is a great place, but the government just (*****) everything out of your wallet. no place else on this planet can you get up and snow ski, have breakfast all after sunup, then a short drive and water ski on a lake, have lunch, then another drive and serf in the pacific ocean, and have a sunset dinner. a has the highest point in the lower 48 states, and the lowest point (maybe the whole world?) and you can be in one spot and see the other on a clear day. everything from a real rain forest, to a true dry sandy desert. enjoy your time here, so much to see.
  12. i would say at those hoa charges, why not just lease a condo. then at least your lawn/front garden is maintained. but then for me i would just buy a couple acres out away from everything. no hoa to deal with. concrete pad, couple 40 ft containers, with joining roof/walls and protected from the weather. but then i do not swim, or play golf. and no busy body telling me what to do. (as you can tell i am not a fan of hoa's).
  13. should never have been a issue. this was more a runaway government control thing. now with that said. Nobody should be allowed to do any filming/photo/ anything, that inter-fears with others trying to enjoy there time at “that place”. aka: just someone using a hand held camera, video cam, etc. not a problem. - on vacation trying to video old faithful— someone (crew) setting up a stand wires, more. then yes a restricted use permit ONLY. — news crew, movie thing—
  14. neither of which i have. so i am not registered with the un, so it makes me a second class person.
  15. i see no reason to need to prove anything (other than you paid for a ticket) to just fly on a airplane. if another muslam murder wants to do it again, they will have the correct paperwork anyhow. one can get any kind of document on the black market. governments are only trying to play catch up with the bad guys. so not having a star makes me a second class person? even with all the feds know about me already.
  16. jay drvr, that sounds like the un mandated dl that is being imposed on the USA. but strange the dmv already has all that info and more on me. as a dl is not to prove what country you came from (that is what a passport is for). but only that you have already proven your true name. I am only 61, and have proven many decades back who I am to the government (both state and feds), by many more ways than just a drivers permit. chalkie, ok so a texas "enhanced" is just like what here in ca is called a non commercial permit. i have had a class A commercial permit with many endorsements for forty years now. and with security clearances to get onto military bases i even got to be at castle AFB back when it was a SAC base, what a sight being right next to the B52's ready to go. still do have a active one now. plus a fed and state issued clearance for getting on and back off same day. prison grounds in ca. plus "other" fed approved papers also proving who I am. if the fbi still holds real paper files on me i bet it is very thick, but at least it is all good stuff.
  17. after seeing what happened in texas this year, one is best suited to have there own back up power. and 40 gallons gasoline fuel supply for the generator. gasoline is good to go at -30F. all of the "gas" fuels are junk below 30F But here in ca the governer says who gets power and who gets cut off. but at least our winters are not as bad as this, but the power gets cut here in the summers, when it does not get below 100F even at 2:am. to replace diablo nuk station would take at least 30 SQ miles of nothing but solar panels. and would be useless most of the time. and ca needs to build two new nuk plants just to keep up with the demands of northern ca, forget everything south of fresno.
  18. what is a texas "enhanced DL". would a non commercial class A work? or problems there?
  19. sad for me i am a collector, it is hard for me to sell off anything. at 61, only 6 years to go and having all the family things collected (not just by me), i have no family to give or hold onto things. once my mom is gone. i am the last. trying to sell off things, but most have no moneys or intrest to buy at this time. then all the family photos? as i sit here all i can think of is a bonfire for all my junk. would the mormans want the family history for the archives? no we have never been any other than christian. just i heard they archive everything about everybody.
  20. ca is money hungry, (has to pay for all the social welfare programs). but all one needs to not pay for auto/truckother tax, if still living in ca. is a permanent place proven to be able to garage said in another state, then it MUST be out of ca for at least 8 months of the year. but they still look at you. yes they have cameras on the freeways looking at plates. as to proving a domicile out of ca, address, bank account, insurance, voting reg, library card, all motor cars, trucks, trailers, etc reg in said state. your golden. owning property (aka: a house you have lived in and not rented out) can be a hang up sometimes. I am not a lawyer, nor claim to be, so check with those in the know better than I. but now the governor of ca king of ca, wants to impose a "exit tax" it would require one to pay state income tax for up to 10 years after you leave ca.
  21. the tag on my rig has been erased by the sun, nothing on the title, or any paperwork, but online says about 6100 pounds. this is a small unit and is now 20 years old, and has been in great shape over the years. so i guess if i still have it when i retire, i get to empty it out for a scale tag...... if i have it, and not "up graded" by then. but is this weight thing for how much tax they charge you? or just" other".
  22. last night it got down to the high 30F now at 1:15 pm it is 70F. got to love ca for the moderate temps. everything else...well that's another wording. bty: wrknrvr, love the way to heat the underside of your rv.
  23. like everything, even this too shall pass. i do not know the when where or how, but the flu of 1918 was around for 3 years. and that was with no political involvement problems. (at least history does not say).
  24. worth it or not? ask a lot of people in texas right now.
  25. back to the facts. as of today, what has happened to this very poor example of a man?
