  1. Do you have family nearby? Perhaps a brother or sister could go in with you and use the RV during the summer months while you are busy working. During the winter months when you are not working you could head south, like a snowbird, in the motorhome. This way your brother or sister will not need to winterize the motorhome, get to use it in the summer and you have use of it during the winter.
  2. When do you buy a new $500 suit at Nordstrom? When it’s on sale for half off and it’s only $250. When do you buy stocks? When the market goes down and stocks are on sale.
  3. What is the cost of this equipment and the monthly cost of the service?
  4. Wish you the best of luck. I am one of those CA residents who left in 2014. It’s what got me into full timing. I lived in San Diego for 35 years and Northridge for 7 years before that with 2 years in San Mateo first. I love the weather but not the traffic, taxes and politics.
  5. I have it but have not had the need to use it. I had the same company with FMCA for a year but their renewal cost went up to $154 so I switched to Escapees at $99 this year.
  6. I have SilverScript for my Part D. I usually go to CVS but recently went to a WalMart and paid only $1 for Rx.
  7. I too have not practiced much recently. Ammo is getting harder to find and a lot more expensive. When I had a S&B I did reload but now in the RV I do not.
  8. Kirk, I have been camping and RVing for most of my life too. I have never had to use my weapon either but I always carry it. I also always have a fire extinguisher with me too and I have never had a fire. My gun is just a tool like my fire extinguisher and I never leave home without it. I do practice more with my gun than my fire extinguisher.
  9. Nobody in Arizona cares one way or the other, lol lol lol.
  10. You use the Escapees address but don’t have an RV or vehicle. Where do you live? Can you get mail there and use that address for the banks? All you need is a letter or magazine sent. You can still use Escapees address as your mailing address.
  11. Nixon, during his Presidency, had year round DST as a way to save energy. Where else besides the USA is daylight savings time observed? Would it be disruptive on a global basis if the USA went year round? Things to consider.
  12. Only 9 sites. I think that would be too few for a Co-Op. Non Co-Op You would probable only get $35 a night for FHU at most and at 50% occupancy, (15 days a month) only $525 a site per month, or if you charge $450 by the month, for 9 spaces, about $4,050 per month gross less expenses, property tax, water, sewer, advertising etc. Be lucky to break even.
  13. You can get the Mossberg 500 or 590 in an 18 inch or 20 inch barrel. I have a Winchester Defender 18 inch barrel next to my bed and a Mossberg 500 18 in the closet. I also have a Ruger 357 loaded with shot in the pocket on the back of my drivers Capt Chair right up front. Remington 870 is also a popular shotgun.
  14. In Calif you still can not travel with a loaded shotgun in your vehicle. You must have the shotgun unloaded. You can not even have any shells attached to or near the weapon as it will be considered loaded. I know of a case where the person had shells attached to the outside of the gun on a sleeve attached to the butt and it was considered loaded even no shell was chambered. You can have it in your fifth wheel just not in your truck.
  15. If you do get a CCW in SD I recommend you get the Enhanced version so you can get the reciprocity afforded by it. It wouldn’t hurt to get the Utah and or Florida non resident permits as well.
  16. Every State has different laws. For example, Calif is one of the strictest. In Calif if you do not have a permit to carry, issued by Calif since they have no reciprocity, you may only have a handgun in your vehicle if it is unloaded and in a locked container other than the glove box or center console. However if you plan on keeping your handgun attached to or inside your fifth wheel and not in your tow vehicle within your reach you may be in compliance with the law. The easier way to reduce issues would be to get a Concealed Carry Permit even if you do not intend to carry concealed on your person. Some States have a Enhanced Cary Permit which has reciprocity in many other States. Not sure about CT. UT and FL will issue a non resident permit and have reciprocity in most States, but not all. CA, NY, NJ, IL and a few others do not have reciprocity. UT will require you to have a CCW in your home State in order to obtain a non resident permit in UT. Additionally, the Supreme Court has ruled that you may have a weapon in your home, and most States Courts have ruled that an RV is an extension of your home when you are sleeping in it. While it is traveling on the road it is usually considered a vehicle. But if you have the weapon in your 5th wheel it may not be considered in your vehicle. Some States like NY and the District of Columbia, however, do not allow the transportation of a handgun across their State border at all in any way. Do some research online. There are many web sites on this issue. I would also highly recommend that you consult a Lawyer who specializes in this area. Many local gun clubs can refer a lawyer to you.
  17. Not true. If you have a PMB address you will NOT be allowed to purchase a weapon, at least in the western part of the State. I went to many gun stores and was told that the local ATF office in Rapid City has advised all of them that they will lose their FFL if they sell to a party who has a PMB address and no actual physical address in SD. The big stores and the Mom and Pop all quoted the local AFT as saying “if we don’t have a door to kick in you can’t sell to them.” I have advised Escapees legal already and have contacted the Governor’s office, and the NRA. I hope to have this issue corrected in the near future.
  18. I just got my Amex and my BofA new credit cards which were sent to my Livingston address. I use 77399 as the zip. I have never used the extra 4 digits on any mail. Never had any problems.
  19. I’m in Benson at the Escapees Co-Op. The weather report is for rain tomorrow, Monday. We do have some clouds in the sky but I think there is only a slight chance of rain.
  20. Agree. Go to the post office and fill out the form. I believe you can go to any post office anywhere and they will send the form to your old address but it would be better to go to the one near your old address if possible. If there is a fee of $1.05 pay it in cash don’t try to use your credit card. That should take of the mail forwarding problem. Regarding your credit cards, sign up for paperless billing and do everything online. The same for all your mail. I get all my magazines in digital form. The only mail I get from Livingston is junk mail. Everything is online now.
  21. La Mesa RV is not a mobil service. I am looking for a mobil service. I may have to wait till summer. I guess it won’t hurt but I skipped the service last winter due to limited funds.
  22. Yes, my Aqua Hot is working ok. I just need the routine annual service. I am full time so I am using it 24/7/365, and it has been well over a year since it was last serviced. I am handicapped and not able to do it myself.
  23. I am in the Escapees Co-Op in Benson AZ and need the annual service completed on my Aqua Hot 450 D. I went on Aqua Hots web site and there is only one mobil tech listed and he is located inTucson which is 45 miles away. He wants $150 for the drive to Benson plus $250/300 for the service. I normally pay about $200 total. Does anyone know of a Aqua Hot tech near Benson? TIA
  24. What park in AZ are you in?
