  1. Best place to go for answers to that question is to have your Wife inquire from her "Allergy" physician Depending on they type of allergies, her reactions to said allergies and how long she has been taking the "Shots". In the initial phase of those injections they must always be done at an office with the appropriate emergency equipment available. Some are able to be done by a trained family member only if the injections have been successful for an extended time and attempts to wean from them have failed. I am a licensed health care provider, but the information provided is not a prescription nor a consultation, just a general answer to the question posed above. Rod
  2. One way to get away from the drafts in the slide outs is to do the raised floor in the slide. That way there is a seal completely around the inside part of the slide that seals against the wall when it's extended out. Flat floors are nice, but to me not worth the gap that's there with all of them. Spacecraft will build a bumper pull trailer, as will New Horizons. Have seen both in person and they are very nice, just not what I want to pull. They new Spacecraft did require an HDT to pull, not sure about the New Horizon unit. Rod
  3. I'm not sure if I've had the plan for 20 years yet, but it's been a long time. I should have stayed with the $9.99 unlimited data when I got it for my first trip to Florida for a winter job. I was only there for 3 months and had very good internet at home so I cancelled it. Next time I think it was $20 and I've kept the same plan for many years. When I up grade my phone I just buy one from ebay and so far have had very good luck. Now that I'm full time, I don't even consider changing the plan and my limit of 250 text messages per month. Not too long ago I got information that I no longer had a limit on the minutes used for talk. I never went over it anyway. I think it was 1000 per month and maybe for a while had rollover. For a long time it was just under $100 per month. It's a bit over that now, but I've had internet everywhere even when the phone didn't work all that well. I was near Golden Colorado for a 3 month job and had to carry a pager when I was on call because the phone wouldn't ring many times. I could usually call out, but the connection would drop out fairly frequently. Verizon sent a tech out and he could not help. Said I was in a "Dead Zone". They would be happy to let me out of my contract though. That was 10+years ago Rod Here's a copy of my potential new business card.
  4. If they want more than my name and money for the rewards then it's a no go for me too. I don't share my email or phone number with any businesses any more. Rod
  5. Shutting down the 3G and not wanting to have 5G near airports or airplanes. 4G better be ready for the extra work. Rod

    No Vacancy

I have traveled with my home on wheels for many years now. My first place for finding a spot was in the winter in South Florida. It was tough, but I got it done each year. In the last two years I went there I had found a small "Ranch" in the equestrian area that rented me a spot that had everything but sewer dump. I got by with using a "Port-a-Potty" service that was traveling through emptying out their units. Once you found the guy coming through and got their number you could call and have it done even if you weren't there. I left the money in a jar near the dump switches. You can schedule it with the "Company" but it's more of a hassle and more expensive too. Now back to subject. It is getting harder to find a spot. My current spot took almost a month to get, but I was lucky and had the job a couple months early. Most of the time I have just a few days and on occasion I've had to take spots that I normally wouldn't . It all works out though , at least so far. Rod
  7. Why is it when you provide your phone number to places they automatically assume that you will accept text messages on that phone???????? My plan has unlimited data, but a limit on the amount of Text Messages I can use. At first I didn't think much of it. I didn't text much and didn't receive many either until I texted a recruiter once and then had a barrage of texts that brought me close to my limit one month. From that time on I refused text messages from anyone other than a few family members and close friends who have all been told if they abuse it they may be "BLOCKED". I made a Dr's appointment last week and expected a "Call" to remind me, but got a "Text" instead. I wonder what they will say when I inform them they don't have permission to use my phone number for anything other than phone calls. I did not provide a "Text" number. That's my rant for today. Rod
  8. I have only been once, but it was all of them. Fun, educational and worth the time I took off work to go. The trip up was good and while not as planned I did make it in time to attend the rally. , the trip back was not what I expected and I got home much later than expected. I apologized to my neighbors over and over for coming in at 2200 hours. At least I hit my mark with one try. Maybe some day I will be able to attend again. Rod
  9. Kirk, You opened up a rousing discussion. I'm looking for someone to do the solar powered home on wheels that can move as far as they want and when they want with few limits. Inclement weather would be one of the things I wouldn't care if the rig couldn't move because most of the ICE vehicles couldn't either, at least not in a "normal" fashion. Once it's proven and the cost comes to my pocket book range I will be all in. I cannot afford to be the pioneer, but I will support those who take that step. Rod
  10. Two Summers ago I would often see a Tesla sitting in one of the vacant RV spots in the park I was staying in. It had a cord running to the pedestal. I didn't ever see a person around the car and didn't venture close enough to it to see if someone was sleeping in it. I have thought about getting an electric car to utilize it's battery for storage of my solar power (once I fill the roof with them). Problem is they don't currently share their power very well. I have read of plans for sharing, but haven't actually seen one except for that Ford pickup in Texas that powered a portion of a house last year during the very cold snap they had. I have also heard as soon as a True Electric HDT is put on the road soon after there will be a large trailer built with enough solar panels to run the truck down the road and then have plenty of power when parked to take care of everything (as long as it's sunny I assume). Kirk, don't sell yourself short. Things have a history of popping up pretty quickly here in the good ole' USofA Rod
  11. Best of luck with your build. Rod
  12. Not trying to derail the post and question, but maybe another way at looking at what you are wanting to do is instead of adding a complete separate HVAC unit, consider upgrading your current with an additional evaporator in the area you wish to add cooling to and maybe changing the compressor if required. I often wonder how the HVAC systems in the total electric vehicles operate, I have looked "under the hood" and asked at a couple of display vehicles in the past, but that was maybe 10 to 12 years ago. An auto A/C unit seems to be pretty robust and provides good cooling of all the vehicles I have owned including the full size "Minivan" I had once. I did opt for the additional cooling of the rear with the additional evaporator placed back there. The other option is getting a generator to power the rooftop unit when you need the additional cooling. It's all about choices, needs, vs wants and of course the funds to do it, maybe more than once. 13. Very sorry for your loss. I remember reading many post's by "Mr. Seas", but never had the privilege to meet him in person. May he rest in peace. Rod
  14. Temperature's rose today and I had the time to visit the basement to rearrange things. Water is running now and I haven't seen a leak so hopefully the next cold snap will be not noticed. Rod
  15. For only the second time I have had a no water in the morning when waking up. I have heat tape on the hydrant and hose to the connection inside the basement and I think that is still fine. Apparently there is a line somewhere inside that is close to the exterior wall and has frozen. Even the water pump won't give me water from my full tank. I usually don't stay hooked up during the winter and just fill the tank, but I've been more busy this year and it's hard to find the time to fill. Guess it will have to become more of a priority now. The Mini split is keeping the living area plenty warm and my electric heat near the water pump is keeping that area in the 60's, just need to find the cold spot. It's to warm up this weekend a bit and maybe I will be lucky. Rod
  16. That's the name I couldn't come up with this morning. Have had it for a few years now and it's holding up very well. Should have went with the bigger one though. Rod
  17. Even in boxes in front of the drive tires, at least for me there is plenty of movement. My first two drawer type tool boxes didn't survive. First one was a cheap one, but the second was a Craftsman. It did better and is still usable, but stuff never stayed where I put it. I have one of the boxes I looked at for years before purchasing. Can't remember the name this morning, but I put it behind the axle this fall and it has done well for me so far. No issues with water so far either, but no torrential rains yet. It doesn't have drawers and has a sloping lift up lid. Rod

    air lines replacement

I had a few of the James Gang 8 tracks. Hand me downs from a cousin who upgraded to the cassette. Rod
  19. Jack, Do you advertise on this forum? I know you at one time had a big presence here and while a few may give you grief about touting your truck knowledge and also selling them, I think they would be a few. Of course if an "administrator" has told you to "Cool it" we would never know about it. Many miss your comments. Rod
  20. Sorry for the confusion. I don't want to have to worry about the fridge. Don't really care about much else at this time. I wouldn't be doing anything, but got what I think is a good deal on 4 6 volt deep cycles. I have been waiting to replace my OEM batteries until they wouldn't allow the 12 volt lights to work when I unplug. That may take a while and the replacement batteries came up recently, so I started thinking about how to get the fridge to do what I want with an inverter all it's own. I could replace the MSW 3K inverter with a high quality PSW and use the 4 batteries together and maybe have more choices of what I want to power. The likelihood of plugging in a bunch of portable heaters isn't as high as it was during the first days of ownership of this home. An energy audit is a great idea and one day a professional will preform one and help me with a total solar/battery system so I won't ever have to plug in again. Rod
  21. Thanks Chad, I will think about it. Does that inverter have a charger or will I have to figure another way to keep my batteries charged? My thought was to just power the fridge through the inverter all the time and then I wouldn't have to worry about the transfer switch. I know it's not "Efficient" to do that, but will it do any harm? Won't have to worry if the power goes out for a bit. dons118, I have gone 12 to 24 hours without having the fridge running and all is good most of the time. One of my locks failed on the fridge door once and who knows how often it opened and closed without me knowing about it. I found the door closed, but the glue had come off of one of the securement devices and it was on the floor so I know the door opened at least once. Everything was thrown away after that trip that was inside. Maybe if the fridge had been running when the door closed it would have caught back up???? I didn't get the batteries picked up after they were tested and fully charged before the shop closed for the weekend. Will get them Monday. Thanks again for the replies and suggestions. Rod
  22. Thank you for the replies. This morning probably wasn't a good day to look, but I just got the batteries a couple days ago. The fridge has been in my home since new in 2013 It's a residential model with the bottom freezer. According to the builder (of the home) my inverter and two batteries should have worked. It did not. Maybe because it's a modified sine or maybe something else. I only want to power the fridge for at least 12 and hopefully 24 hours. I'll find a location that will help me with finding out how much current is required. It may be in the "Book" provided with the unit. In the future I will cover the top of my home with solar and have a large enough battery bank to survive for a few days of darkness. My power usage is minimal. The current park provides 800 KW or something or other each month. If I go over I have to pay for the amount over. Last month it was less than 600. If it stays mild here I doubt it will go up much over that. I use my Mini Split, the fridge, computer, TV, coffee maker and occasionally the microwave or induction hot plate. The electric portion of the water heater is currently not being used. I just retired the "Bunn" coffee maker not sure how much current it used to keep the reservoir of water hot. Until then thanks again, Rod
  23. I have come across 4 6 volt deep cycle batteries at a good price. The first two that I have seen have Interstate Golf written on them. I dropped them off at a local battery store (not interstate) for testing and charging. I had hoped they would have an inverter charger they could couple with the batteries and I could take everything home and use the setup to power my refrigerator. They were able to only do the testing and charging. Their abilities to obtain inverters has been hampered. Renology is the first one to come up this morning on an internet search. I know I have read about some of their systems on the forum. Any other brands I need to look at? I want to get 12 to 24 hours of power for the fridge during moving days. Rod
  24. The items I was referring to are most likely the markers for the various businesses and most are not the ones I am interested in so I refer to them as Ad's. I want to see gasoline service stations, not fast food places, but the food places outnumber anything else on my screen and they often block things I need to see. The Garmin I am referring to is the one on my motorcycle and the "Ad's are larger than the street names I need to see. Rod
