  1. I used to have a bank account that refunded all ATM fees and had other enticements causing me to open the account. It slowly removed all of the benefits from the account and I no longer utilize that bank at all. Found another bank with similar enticements and now that is my primary bank. It's local where most of my family still live and I visit at least annually. At one time I felt one of the big "National" banks would be good for my travel lifestyle and they were for a while. A branch near most cities I worked in. Most of those branches are gone now. The only reason I keep that account is the ease of their online payments. I will visit the bank manager with the offending bank when my time here is almost over and explain the issue and see if it's an actual policy and if so why. I don't often carry much cash, but I do want access to it. Is that too much to expect? Rod
  2. I know I have commented on this before, but cannot find the topic to refer back to, so here I go again. If you are still reading, I am heading out a bit later today to make a purchase from a private owner. I will be bringing cash for the person. I no longer purchase the paper things they call "Checks", but I do let my bank send them to people at their expense. It's a longer story I won't go into now. I will stay with the "CASH". I have stopped at a local bank where I am working to withdraw cash. (Finally found one that doesn't try to charge me for taking out my money). It took two visits to withdraw the amount needed. With the first withdraw I expected to get large bills, but it was all 20's. (Some ATM's now do 100's, but mostly when I don't want them to, not this one.) The ATM is watched by the drive up "Tellers", so with my last withdraw I pull up to the only window and ask if I can exchange the twenty dollar bills for a few larger ones. Guess what the answer was. NO. I mentioned I had watched her watch me (on my motorcycle with my HiVis Yellow Aerostitch Suit on) withdraw the cash and I could provide her with the receipt of the withdraw and the answer was still NO. I said I'd be happy to come inside the bank if that was required and again it was NO. I should have asked to speak with the Supervisor who was giving the info, but don't want to loose my free ATM, so I didn't. Here I am venting again on the RVNETWork Forum. Thanks for commenting if you do read it to this part. Rod
  3. When where (more specific than "Southern Illinois) and what's the occasion, are the questions I had in my head when reading. Anyone else ?
  4. The small stuff seems to add up to big stuff some days. Hope yours does not. Rod
  5. It's the only letter I have ever written to a Government representative, but I'm only one. Rod
  6. Agree, there is way too much constant artificial light. I keep a light on if I'm reading, but most of my home is dark unless I have to be in the room. I did find an email address for my State Rep and have sent a couple messages. Rod
  7. Not really interested in this or Texas. But I do feel I understand the situation. Supporting any business or person in a place you have had difficulty in or a place you do not agree with how they operate can be emotionally draining. Been there, done that and try to avoid as much as possible. Problem is many of the things or situations I try to avoid seem to take over some of the things I do enjoy. It's about personal choices and the distance you will go before compromising. Rod
  8. There are several. Initially I chose the "biggest one" but became dissatisfied and have chosen a smaller and more personal company. Will share per PM or email if you like. Rod
  9. I may or may not have used the right term. To my knowledge I did not get any checks from the government that many others did. I filed my taxes as normal, yet got a letter and a decrease in the amount of my refund because they said I had received a payment from the government to "Assist me during the Covid Epidemic." Rod
  10. Sad to see this and hope all is well. I too would hate for it to just fade away. Rod
  11. I will agree it was a misunderstanding. I don't understand where the money went.

Clicked the underlined ONE and got "No file found". Rod
  13. Thanks very much for the updated information. If I still had children in either of those schools I most certainly would encourage it. Maybe my doctorate student will take up the letter writing task in addition to all of her other duties. When they get over half of the 50 states will that ensure that all 50 can stop the time change? I tried to find an email address for my S.D. Rep, but there wasn't one listed. I might just have to write a letter and buy the stamp to send. Rod
  14. Hopefully unlike the latest National Rally, more photos will be posted to the Forum. I'm guilty of not taking any during my time there. I missed the Photo day when I think more about photos than the other days. Anyone know if their were photos posted to the Facebooker thing? Rod
  15. Tax laws are at the interpretation of the person reading and filling out the information to prepare the tax return. They are only verified when a person is subjected to an Audit. Then it's who argues the best on what was written in the instructions. I was audited several years ago and wish I would have paid what the letter said. Instead I argued for 2+years, had several representatives and then paid the "Tax Lawyer" to decrease my bill to the government but their bill brought it back over what the initial payment would have been. A similar situation occurred last year when I had my taxes filed. I get a letter saying I didn't report the "Subsidy" amount I received from the "Trump" administration. I told my tax preparer I did not receive a check or direct deposit. How do I fight it. She said I should just ignore since I would have to pay her more than the subsidy payment to prove I didn't get it. Something certainly wrong with the Taxing in America. But we all know that. It's only going to get worse. Rod
  16. The dreaded time is coming again. Apparently the "Fall Back" doesn't bother me as much as the "Spring Forward". I still dislike them both though. In going through the replies I still couldn't read all of the house bills from various states that was posted by one of the repliers. I do thank all who posted. And no I won't sign an on line petition. I will sign one in person and provide only my mailing address for verification I reside in the good ole USA. Rod
  17. Heavy rains last week and the full creeks made me think of Oklahoma last spring. I was on the River in a park that had been flooded a couple times in the last 20 years. In talking with the manager the first flood came without much warning and destroyed several new buildings and trailers. The park was most likely very beautiful before that first flood. It was not during my stay, but it was very affordable. The weather folks are commenting on Flooding concerns for the upcoming week. Lots of rain coming, maybe as much as we got a week ago, but now the ground is saturated and won't absorb as much. It's going to be nice today so I think I will load and tie down the motorcycle, make sure the trailer is ready for a quick move and hopefully check on my insurance to see if I have flood coverage. Does anyone know about Full timer Flood insurance? I know I have seen photos of RV's stuck in flood waters, but I know no one who personally suffered. (to my memory). Rod
  18. How long was the wait time after you decided to have it done and scheduled it? I was pretty involved in Spacecraft for a while. Had a Facebook page and visited the factory often. Heard good and bad about the CDI, but Spacecraft could not find anyone else (at that time) that could do their units. I found it funny that some owners did the paint and then had their rigs "Wrapped". If I ever do anything to my unpainted plain white trailer it will be a wrap. Probably just as expensive as a paint but maybe not. Rod
  19. And it works every time. No batteries to replace either. Thought it was odd to get the PM. I's starting the see something say something. I used to just ignore thinking it really didn't bother me, but now after a recent event with a coworker I will be more involved. I won't share the info in the open forum, but will compose a synopsis for anyone who is willing to only read for their own information and not share in an open discussion. I'm not sure if there will be legal actions, but I don't want to compromise the case if there is. I grew up in the age of never locking a door. Car, home, shop and even left the key in all the tractors and other motorized farm equipment. Those days are gone. It's another story for that change, at least for me. Thanks Kirk for checking it out. Rod
  20. Anyone else get a PM with those words from a Mr. Pong? Does he even know what type of door I have? I'd like to have a keyless entry to many areas, but not sure they are cost effective. Wouldn't it be great if you carried one key for your truck, Auto, Motorcycle and home and all you had to do was touch the door handle and it would open. Got spoiled with my last car and then got a Jeep. It has push button start, but I still have to dig the key fob out of my pocket to unlock. (Have you seen the size of the Jeep FOB?>???) Visited my Mom last weekend and she has a Pacifica with the proximity opening and I forgot about it for the first day of driving her car. It was hard to find the tiny fob too so it made it worse, for me...... Rod
  21. Looking forward to photos. Rod
  22. I worked and spent a bit of time on the roads in North Dakota and Minnesota last summer. A lot of on my motorcycle, but some in my Jeep. There is lots to see up there, especially for someone who had not viewed the equipment for the Sugar Beet harvest. I assumed the things I saw heading to Grand Forks were for the Oil Industry. Nope, it's to keep the beets frozen until they are processed. Didn't actually stay long enough to see the big piles of beets. The harvest was delayed due to high temperatures. It was the hottest summer in a long time I was told many times. Especially when I complained about the heat. Drivers are bad everywhere. I will say the ones who continually drive in the left lane of a multi lane road and are looking at their phone and not maintaining their speed are the worst. On my motorcycle, in my jeep or Volvo I can see what almost every driver is doing when I pass them. I prefer to pass on the left, but hardly anyone drives in the right lane anymore, so I think of it as my "Monfort Lane" Rod
  23. What is a person to do? Will there be a fix or is it 1999 again when it's all worry and then nothing happened??? Rod
