we are headed your way on monday or tuesday. any spots open at the park you are in, what are the rates there. we may just try to stay at lackland afb .if they have openings

I think they have openings. Not many rigs here right now. $380 a month full hookups including electric. Kind of off the beaten path, nice and quiet. Next to the Guadalupe River. It'll be good to see you again. Travel safe. Later.

We arrived at Red Bay, Alabama, home of Tiffin Motor-homes. We are checked in and have a fHU site for the duration. Have not seen this many motor-homes in one place since Quartzsite! We are having a couple of warranty items taken care of and a few modifications we've been wanting to do. Tiffin is replacing the floor under the wet bay, which was not treated like it should have been when it was built. There are a couple of other things like that, but I don't think our bus has the problems. The lot at the factory was nearly full, but we found a park a couple of blocks away which is much quieter and is more or less an overflow lot. We snagged the last site on the end, so there is no-one on our drivers side. Don't know how long we will be here, but hopefully we can get a few things done. It looks like the main attraction in Red Bay seems to be the "coon dog cemetery", so you can see how exciting this stay will be. Have fun out there. Steve

Well with Steve stuck at the Coon Dog Cememtary I guess the water guy not getting here with my water tank is a minor problem. I painted rocks most of the day today. I have a line of rocks going East to West so I painted them all different colors. I've still got 2 green and 4 blue rocks to paint. I took the International President of the LOWs to Brawley this morning to buy Ice Cream for a Turkey soup and Ice Cream social tomorrow at happy hour. It's a gift from the International Organization to our Chapter for putting up with her on her visit here to the Slabs. My dish cloth is falling apart from age so I started to Crochet another one today. I've already forgot how I did the last one so I have to figure it all out again. I riped it out twice now but this time I think I've got it right. I like the Crocheted ones better than the knitted ones. They are not as bulkey. I'm Still looking for a store that stocks Lifes. I sure need to get one.

If you want the knitting pattern I do them all the time. Just finished one this morning. The cotton wool makes them best.

For those of you who don't follow my blog... This morning there are literally thousands, yes thousands of RV's of all types on Hwy 8 traveling east from California. I sure hope we haven't missed an evacuation order or something. It's still going on. RV's outnumber cars by 10 to 1. Honestly. Check the blog. www.palamine32.blogspot.com

Nope It's not the Okies. They are all at the Coon Dog Cemetary. LOL Maybe it's the Imperial Dunes bunch they are having some kind of compitition or celebration over there this week. I know it's not the Slabers all coming late this year because Turkey day is already gone by. They wouldn't miss that. I finished my Sun Dial and all the Rock Painting today. It looks kinda pretty if I do say so myself. I was supposed to take the goffer hole digger to dinner tonight but he didn't get here at 4:30 so I went by myself around 4:45. He missed a good roast Pork dinner. I finally won a game of 31 tonight. Maybe my MOJO has returned.

What makes you so sure we haven't met the other couple? :)

I'd love to join you but I can't make it to Yuma by Saturday.

Yuma has an airport.

We haven't been doing a lot except sleeping, eating and shopping for a different bike. We're paid up at the Elks until Saturday so we have until then to decide if we're staying or moving.

Would love to meet up with you guys but the doctors seem to have priority over our lives. Sure will be glad when this is over. Jim's doing pretty good but his leg is all swelled up so back we go this afternoon to the doc. However, he could walk to the clubhouse this morning without any leg pain. He couldn't do that before the surgery so it's definitely a success. Maybe someday we can actually walk around the park.

I wrote a nice long post yesterday but just as I was about to send it I lost the internet signal and after 20 minutes of waiting for it to come back I just shut it down and went to bed. Better luck this time I hope. Eat a slice of that Pizza for me down there in yuma. I still don't have a water tank. I'm about ready to tell James where he can put his tank. I think I'll try calling him every day until he gets here with it. He'd probably fill it with poison if I did. I took one of the cowgirls in for Italian this evening but that is about all I've done lately. I went to SoCo to get Gasoline and Propane this morning. I got the Propane but when I tried to get Gasoline the darn pump shut off if I tried to get more than a trickle from it. I fought it for a while but my hand was getting so tired and sore that I gave up with less than 10 gallons pumped, So that is why I went to Brawley for Italian tonight. I finished filling the gas tank too. I'm starting to get hitch itch again and I still have a month and a half to go before we meet in

Q and 2 months untill Sidewinder road. Maybe I'll just hook up and drive around the block.

I think we all understand about hitch itch. There isn't any medicine for the itch other than going someplace else.

Apparently I got the itch. I packed up this morning to go to the grocery store and just kept right on going. West. Towards Arizona. May take me a month to get there, though.

I'll talk fast tonight Verizon is playing games with me and keeps taking my signal away. I took the President to town this morning to buy groceries then came home and painted a few rocks to pretty up my Lair. I've been feeling a little down and out so after Happy Hour where we had leftover turkey salad sandwiches. Pumpkin bread and Ice Cream. I took a Steve for about 2 hours. I have a little more go but not much more. Maybe I'll just get in the truck and drive to Q or Yuma just to scratch the itch.

Jealous! Starting to really count the days until we're back. The weather here has been absolutely perfect for this late in the year. We really need moisture though. Have fun and enjoy Da Boyz.... I have a favorite Italian restaurant here in this area too, but we have to drive an hour! I talked to a gal at the Palms that thought all those rigs were coming from the Imperial Dunes also. It's a gathering that looks like a city out there...even more crowded than Q.

As Always,

We expect to get the itch again soon too, but we're in Nacogdoches, TX until at least the first or 2nd week in Jan, getting our coach painted. Full body paint, paint the roof, new headlights, etc. Won't be able to recognize our rig when they get all done.

We've moved out of the rig into an efficiency apartment that the company (Xtreme Paint and Graphics) provides at no cost, so we're quite comfortable, but it's pretty weird being totally out of the coach. This town has a lot of activities (Xmas season), and we have friends in the area (and Nancy is finding us new friends every day...), so no danger of boredom. Don't think we will get to Q this year, though.

Supped up Flux Capacitors and now Extreme Paint jobs. I think they are planing a trip to the moon. Nancy grab that guy by the ear and make him settle down. On Second thought drag him to Yuma in February. I've been down in the dumps the past few days. Today I got my lounge out and slept most of the day beside my trailer. I do feel better now mayby I should try that tomorrow also. Not much happening at the slabs right now.
