Since we came so far east in Louisiana we decided to make the treck a little NE to Red Bay, AL. We are now @ Camp Red Bay to have some things taken care of on our home :-) Trish is here too so we plan to spend some time with her also.

Anyone else besides the Bob & Molly gang going to Alaska this summer? We've had a change of plans (that jello thing, ya' know...) and will be up there for the summer. Would love to see anyone who might be passing through the Wasilla (Mat-Su Valley) area as we'll be there from about 6/1 to roughly the 3rd week in August. Give us a holler and we'll make some coffee or dig out a bottle of wine (oops - maybe not the wine; we'll be parked at a grade school )

Everyone's fine. My parents have decided that it's time to move down to my sister's in Missouri, so we'll be spending the summer helping them sort and reduce...reduce...and reduce some more. Should be interesting! John intends to escape occasionally by going fishing ;)

We are also doing AK this summer. Currently we are in RGV volunteering at Santa Anna NWR until end of Apr then we head north. Plan on departing from MT on/about 20 May headed to Calgary, Baniff, Dawson Creek, etc.

We are going to lighten the load by stopping in ABQ after departing here and dropping some stuff in storage that we will pick up when we go back for the ABQ Balloon Fiesta in Oct.

If you have not seen it here the link to the thread AK2014 on this forum

I know several others are also planning the trip. Maybe we can have a new unofficial BOF-AK2014 get together along the way!!

Bob - thanks for the info on the AK2014 link. I'll check it out. We'll be leaving WA on about the 25th of May so may very well see you on the highway (depending on how long you'll be sightseeing on the way). It would be fun to see some of you on the highway or up there. Are you staying the whole summer?

Hope that everyone is doing good. We just left our Escapees RV lot in Casa Grande, AZ Rovers Roost. Made some new friends and enjoyed seeing fellow travelers we have known from our first visit to the park. A nice place to stay warm for the winter. Heading east in a few weeks.

Safe Travels!

Hi All,

We are also planning to go to Alaska this summer. We plan to cross the border in Montana around the middle of May. We hope to see friends in Grande Cache, AB before heading to Dawson Creek. We may meet up with the group going with Dennis Hill from time to time. Overall plan is pretty loose. We want to go to Fairbanks and do a day trip to the Artic Circle. I'm not sure about the Top of the World. Then it will be south to Denali, Anchorage and the Kenai before starting back to PA in early August. If anyone has any suggestions we are open to ideas. Hope to see any 07 mates who will be there.

Jim.

We are planning on crossing the MT boarder east of Glacier NP on 20 May headed to Baniff. May adjust the date a little bit due to weather. It looks like we will make Fairbanks shortly before 4th of July but we intend to be be flexible except we want to be back in USA in WA very close to 10 Sep!

Hope to see you all along the way!

I'm on the Oregon Coast heading towards Chimacum. It's rainy here, but the 101 drive never fails to astonish. I'm "up" on the list for a lot at the SKP park there, hopefully completing the transaction in 2 or 3 weeks.

With regards to the recent slide in Washington, such events are not unusual in Western Washington, especially given the very, very, wet winter there. It's not likely that a traveler would be using that route, but other routes are extremely vulnerable to the same thing. I'm afraid that this most unfortunate event is not the only one this season.

As usual, I'll be at Chimacum all summer so feel free to inquire about travel conditions. And look me up if you get to the Peninsula!

Lora and John, nice to have visited with you again in Mesa. Be safe and we look forward to maybe running into to on the road up north!

Ron and Linda, how are you guys? Saw you are several weeks ahead of us! Was there any snow in any of the places you have been so far? I wouldn't mind seeing a little bit of scenery with snow. Will you be stopping in Yosemite? The webcam doesn't show any snow left. We may be there some time in June. Sounds like you are having a great time!

Hey Carol. There was snow along the roads last week in Sequoia. But the weather was fine. We drove the car up from Porterville and did the entire drive took all day but was beautiful. We have been in Loomis thee last few days. Today we did the Empire Mine St Park and earlier in the week we did Old Town in Sacramento as well as the California Railroad Museum. We leave in the morning and will head toward Redweoods National Park. Once in Oregon we need to get to a dealer and get a new eyebrow board for our refer so the stupid door alarm will stop going off (and before the refer stops cooling)

Marty we are slowly headed your direction will call when we get near
