John Laninga
Just got an email from DTV showing their new pricing for 2018. I think I will have to re-double my efforts to replace DTV with OTA and streaming, now that my Mobley gives me all the data I need. == John
Mark and Dale Bruss
Dish is raising rates too. Something happens every year. Streaming TV still comes by satellite where it makes sense. Edited December 18, 2017 by Mark and Dale Bruss
WeBeFulltimers
Maybe it's time to make "the call" to the retention specialist again.

Last time I did that I got a reduction of $30/mo for two years. I think I still have ~8 months to go on it. I was also able to get a short term reduction on my HBO cost. It features a "cloud-based" DVR for recording live TV. However, it's still not a 100% solution for us, though. chuckbear
Price has gone up for this increase at about $3.00 on average. Not really a deal breaker for us. Every provider including netflix and Hulu have raised prices from time to time. Chuck
Twotoes
I got the same email from DirecTv that due to higher costs my subscription cost was going to go up. I signed a two year contract and am still in the first year. Not sure how they can unilaterally decide to increase my subscription price. Maybe there is a clause in the small print of the contract. And now with the Mobley and Firestick I can watch about everything.
wildmandmc
Few weeks ago i got letter from comcast. Price increase for 2018. modem rental up to $11. from $10. most price's up by $5.00 So glad i bought my own modem. IMO i think with cord cutters. an everyone streaming. they up prices on other things to offset those losses . Still waiting for letters from other companys that they lowered their prices. I guess those letters are in the box with the check's in the mail.
hdrider
As much as I would love to dump DTV I think we have decided it's just a evil we will have to deal with while traveling. BUT when hit our winter spot I would love to suspend service for a month or even 2 and use OTA and the parks cable just to screw DTV out of a couple months dues LOL!! Some how that makes me feel a little rebellious and like I'm getting back at them. However my wife is not willing to give up the recording ability so we will just complain and move on. I'm not about to go out and pay good money for a machine that I might use 2 months per year.
Pat & Pete
We've never paid for TV 'service' . OTA only . We'll eat a little cake when it's available . Not like we're addicted .
