Pulling out of W.C.R.

I have decided not to go to the W.C.R. this year. I am going to get a few more miles, practice and repair jobs done on my Volvo before I take it on a long trip. I am guessing I still need a good 5,000.00 to 7,000.00 just to make it road worthy. The thought of being stuck on 93 in Nevada, I-80 in the between Utah and Michigan, I-44 in Missouri or I-70 or I-40 depending on how I would go back to NV does not appeal to me at all.

I went to put the Schrader valve in with Flyers help last weekend to find out it was to small and the tool I bought from O'Riely was not long enough. Went back to T.E.C. equipment and got a valve that was larger in diameter, cut the short end of the tool off and did the same to a very skinny screw driver and J.B. welded them together. I just need to get the valve started then I can reach in with needle nose pliers and tighten it into place.

So with heavy heart I am pulling out of the rally, Maybe I will see you next year? I won't be in Kansas because that is when I am in school. I was looking forward to putting names and faces together, but at least this way I won't be a hazard to anybody else on the highway or myself.

Later,

Cory Ossana

Cory, with time you'll get your eye calibrated to the point where you'll get the right parts about 80% of the time. Ask me how many times I've pulled my "house" to the Home Depot parking lot for a plumbing project.

On the bright side, you could have a running "Vegas HDT Reunion" with the number of people passing through town during Snowbird season.

I have been wrong before, I'll probably be wrong again.

You are correct! Vegas is a popular place to travel through and I should be a lot better about connecting with people when the opportunity presents its self. I just get my head buried in the sand and forget to look up at what is going on around me.

Cory    Don't go till you feel it's the right time. As said before better safe than sorry. Right now we are planning a trip to Vegas late Sept or early Oct so hope we can meet up for a adult beverage.     Pat

If you know of anyone that does AC work. See if there valve stem wrench will fit that one. They should have 2 sizes.

You bet, like I said I am going to have to get better about meeting up with fellow HDT'rs when you come through town! Vegas is a popular place for everybody.

You will be missed. Do what is best for you not anyone else.

Thanks, I really wanted to meet people face to face. I wanted for people to see I was genuine and sincere. The worst part of typing everything is out is we do not get to hear voice tone or see facial expressions. We lose 90% of what was meant behind what was said.

I also wanted to show off my dogs and help give training pointers to anybody who would have liked to learn.

Maybe next year I we can plan a time for pack training...........

Anyway I might be doing everybody else traveling a favor by not being on the road. I think my lack of experience and understanding of my tractor shows.
