  1. We flush, always have and always will. We happen to use Costco TP but any septic safe will work fine.
  2. We changed our plans due to COVID and cancelled all of our reservations so we had to wing it this summer. even though we were told by more than 1 campground that it has been crazy busy we still never had any issues finding a campground but we do plan at least a week in advance.
  3. We are very close to coming to a deal on a new and longer New Horizon which means our 40' 2020 Majestic could be up for sale before long. Feel free to drop a message if you know of anyone that might be interested.
  4. New Horizon build a solid unit for sure and one that will last many many years if maintained. I don't know if you are looking at NH specifically or a Toy Hauler only but I do know of a 40' 2020 NH that's about to go on the market.
  5. Yup, I've forgot my mask but now carry spares. What gets me once in the store is the people that use the mask as a key to get in and then take it off. The stores should have a way to enforce that as well.
  6. Even though we tend to always buy new everything and have for years I can tell you one thing for sure, every RV we have owned has become better than new after we owned it for a year. In fact the New Horizon that we have now that we picked up a year ago April is at this time in better shape now than it was the day we picked it up from the factory. It's just the way it is. We are now thinking about selling our current 5th wheel and building a longer one and one of the things holding us back is having to start that "getting through the first year" stage. Well along with the big first year hit we will encounter LOL!!
  7. Is your outside unit 110 or 220V? We were thinking about selling our current New Horizon and building a new longer one and Mini Splits were on our radar but the system they install is 220V so now I'm not so sure. Part of the reason I'm not so sure is that the inverter they install will not do 220V so I would need to handle that after market because I would want to be able to use them while off grid. AND for those times we are hooked up to 30 amp I would still want to use them so it would need to be off batteries.
  8. We are pondering selling our New Horizon this coming winter, but only to build a new and bigger unit.
  9. We will roll in probably the 9th for our appointment on the 10th, I'm sure we will bump into each other. Well a social distancing bump LOL!!
  10. Well, we did talk to them about the possibility of a trade but like you, the numbers were not even close, not even in the same country close. The selling of a used New Horizon I'm afraid caters to a pretty small market and we don't want to own TWO New Horizons at the same time LOL!! Oh man, your new rig will just miss the rally!!
  11. Yup, you are probably right and I think if we do it we will go with NH again. We are in a 40' now and think we want to go 44'. We will be at NH early next month for our just over a year warranty run and will no doubt talk to them about our options. The bummer is they don't do trades.
  12. We switched from a Class A to a 5th wheel and wanted something as stout or at least as close as we could get to what we were accustomed to in a Class A so after much research we ended up going with a New Horizons even though we (I) really wanted to save the money and go with a DRV. But after touring both factories we bellied up and and paid. Now, it's crazy" but we are wanting to go bigger and once again I look at DRV because building a new rig and then selling within 2 years is not a very financially sound thing to do and by switching from a New Horizon to a DRV would dampen the sting BUT, I don't think we can make ourselves do it. We find ourselves coming to the same choice of going with another New Horizons, that must say something about them.
  13. We hunkered down in our winter location in Casa Grande Arizona 2 month longer than we normally do because of the virus and cancelled all of our summer plans that had us in popular tourist spots like Yellowstone, Cody and on and on. But we did escape the worst heat and moved north in Arizona to a remote area. We now plan to move into Colorado to sit a spell and then to Kansas to have some warrantee work done on our rig and then back to Colorado. We do still have reservations to return to Casa Grande Arizona on November 1st but what happens virus wise will dictate if we actually do that. We might end up in Q as well but then I think about what to do if a person gets sick there, not much offered for help in that area. Dig a hole and crawl in I guess.
  14. We got on the list at Saguaro in early 2015 and are now below 70 on the list. It seems that most people that get in have been in the low 100's lately so we could probably jump in whenever but we are not ready yet.
  15. We have heard that Wickenburg has Pickleball which is just 12 miles so that would be doable but we play almost every day when sitting for any length of time so that drive might get old but sill an option. I actually went to the Kino Sports Park and played in a tournament this season while staying in Casa Grande, very nice complex but that's 45 mile drive. That's not going to happen every day LOL!!! I'm play pretty competitive for the most part when it comes to Pickleball (even though some casual play is fun as well) so I look for areas with very active play.
  16. We liked Jojoba but don't like California and would not settle in that state. Evergreen Coho is nice but no physical activities which means we would be driving someplace every day so that's out. The Escapee's North Ranch Ranch had some very nice sites but again no physical activities. In fact other than Jojoba we have not ran across any with things like Pickleball or a real nice gym, both very important to us. We are however on the Saguaro list only because in is vey inexpensive to get in and fee's are low. I figured if we ever became broke for some crazy reason we could buy in there and exist at least. In fact we are far enough down the list that we could get a site very easily but again physical activities are pretty much not to be found and no Pickleball at all in the area.
  17. I mentioned before that our original plans hinged around Yellowstone. Well now I hear a few things will not be open in Yellowstone, things that we don't really care about like the hotels and such so MAYBE this would actually be a good year to go. Maybe less people.
  18. Boy be careful in Georgia, that governor is even opening theaters and all sorts of stuff in that state.
  19. We were supposed to leave Arizona April 1st and head to Oregon but Oregon was locked down worse than Arizona at that time and our 1st 2 County Park reservations cancelled us so we opted to stay at the resort we winter at through April. Now the end of April is here and we decided to stay in Arizona through May because we feel pretty safe walking and bike riding in the resort where we would be pretty limited at our next stop which we moved back to June. We will certainly leave Arizona June 1st because it will be getting to warm for us, probably before then LOL!! We have reservations in West Yellowstone for 3 weeks, Billings for a week and Cody for a week starting in July which are up in the air at this point. I hate the thought of spending "close to" $100 per night and still not have the freedom to see what we want to se freely. We might just find someplace to hunker down and try to re-create this all next summer.
  20. One sure thing, if things open up you yourself "or me, not pointing fingers" can remain in place and see how things shake out.
  21. Which is sad with so many people now unemployed and so many on Welfare.
  22. Are we saying that THAT many people took care of business while at restaurants? I would never have imagined. And a roll per day? For how many people? I never really payed any attention to how much we use until this all started so I started to pay attention. As it turns out we get on average 8 days out of a roll, that's for 2 people and we only use the bathroom at our rig now of course.
  23. Wow, we have now gone by our 7th year anniversary of being fulltime. Before we went fulltime we read many blogs and learned from what others shared so each year we do a analysis of our costs and thoughts and share them is a way to pay back in hope it might help someone is some way. Here is a link. https://wp.me/p2Dund-4pG
  24. After reading your comment I reached out to Cole at NH because I certainly don't want to share bad info (not that I was questioning you) and as you said they are not offering the lift option any longer. Now that many of their units are in the 48' range they are getting comments of more bounce and are now suggesting the wheeled platform option in the rear. In fact they just did one that holds a Smart Car I see on their Facebook Page.
