    Alamogordo

I'm sorry, I should have been more detailed. We are just looking for a spot to stop overnight and leave early the next morning but not a campground. A good wide chunk of dirt or pavement would work best. Thanks to those that have already replied.

Any good spots to overnight in or near Alamogordo other than the Walmart? We will be headed through there in a week.

  9. For US I look at it this way. Been fulltime on the road 8 years and have been in a good routine winter wise the last 5 so I will just use those last 5 years campground fees which add up and then average out to $10,049 per year (which in my mind is already to dang much but we do stay in the nicest in the areas we visit it seems so it is what it is). It so happens that we stay at a winter spot for 5 months which is what you say you would probably stay and so would we most likely. So, if we used the $475 per month you mentioned x 12 months = $5700 then add the $837 per month on average for the remaining 7 months of travel and that = $11,557. So if I were to look at that scenario I would see the positive of having a lot I knew we could stay on whenever we wanted and one we could fix up the way we want. BUT I would also see the up front out of pocket for the lot and no yearly savings on our normal campground costs PLUS we would loose the flexibility to move around if we wanted. Even if we could put it in a rental pool I doubt that scenario would tempt us personally BUT that does not make it not right for you. Just my 2 cents.

  16. I guess you will need to describe luxury to me. If it means countertops of YOUR choice, Hardwood floors, picking out your own fixtures as far as plumbing and lighting that YOU like, altering the floorplan to YOUR liking, doing a paint colors that YOU want, add in appliances that YOU want there are only a couple options.

  21. Off topic but I have to ask, are all of the vendors there this year with the COVID thing going on? We were curious is some didn't set up this year.
  22. There is a dark side to everything, 8 years fulltime now and the dog poop issue has never and will never go away. When we had a dog with us Diane would pick p after others pets whenever needed, I was more of a "bring it to their attention" type myself if I saw it.
  23. Even though a person would have to be pretty reckless to get caught with personal use quantities of edibles we decided that using CBD was a better bet for us. Been doing the CBD oil thing the last 3 years I guess and even though net getting the high if thats what you are after we are getting the benefit's health wise we feel for our particular needs.
  24. Interesting video. We personally have not work camped yet BUT will probably at some point,,, NO BATHROOMS LOL!!!
  25. You need to have a minimum of 1000 subscribers and 4000 watched hours in a 12 month period to even start getting monetized. I have watched a bunch of information video's on doing this, lots of into out there and I in fact started a channel but man to really do it I think would be a long road unless you really have a god camera presence and character "which I don't". Creating good eye catching thumb nails, coming up with good topics, making a schedule to upload quality video's (unless you put one out on a regular basis it will never get off the ground" taking the time to take the footage and to really edit a video, well my hat is off to the people that make a video look good. Heck we have spent countless hours keeping a blog over the last 8 years "which is ok because I enjoy it" and have a ok sized following and a good amount of views every time I do a update and I asked our followers or the people that even read and are not subscribed to just at least subscribe to my YouTube channel to help grab hold in the YouTube algorithms so YouTube would start promoting my channel to a wider audience but you would think I was charging a fee to subscribe LOL!!! But good luck if you do follow the YouTube path and let me know if you start one, I will support fellow RVers.
