  1. Yes as a yankee I agree with your obvious statement and complement Barb and I freely use the term yankee as it is shorter to spell than American but I am sure bright bulbs on the forum noticed this. Many of the Brits I lived and flew with overseas referred constantly to us as yanks and I in turn called them limeys, etc. All done in good fun and jest and unlike this sensitive bunch no was offended. Cheers to any sour grapes in the area. P.S. I will still use the term yankee as I want to.
  2. For your information RV and folks I was just posting the latest news today from your lovely new CDC Director about what she officially and in public said about the resurgence covid cases and her feelings of impending doom. You always want to shoot the messenger which is typical of juvenile yankee pasha thinking. My reason for posting was as a conservation piece and insight into yankee thinking. It worked. TTB RV if it upset you and I will give myself 20 lashes before midnight. I personally am not concerned about any of this and could care Happy Trails to my yankee friends. Remember I have my vest on. 4. Carefully read the story for yourselves in her own quotes. As always I will continue to wear my mask for safety and comfort from a cold wind. https://nypost.com/2021/03/29/cdc-director-dr-rochelle-walensky-warns-of-impending-doom/ I have my vest on today. 6. Thanks bigjim for your kind mention. Two Army Vietnam medevac pilots did receive the MOH. They were Chief Warrant Officer Mike Novosel (now deceased) who was also a WWII and Korean War combat vet and also Capt. Pat Brady who retired as a General. Many medics and crew chiefs received the Silver Star, DFC and the Distinguished Service Cross that is just below the MOH. This book shown here contains 26 true war experiences of Army medevac crews in Nam and 6 of those are my combat missions that included 3 where my Dustoff was moderate to severely shot up by NVA/VC ground fire and the third completely burned up near LZ Uplift in June of 70 resulting in the death of my young crew chief Ken Lamborn of Auburn, California (news article). He received the DFC, CMB and Bronze Star plus numerous Air Medals. Author and publisher of the book was wounded as a medevac pilot on a hot Dustoff mission in 69. Many many thousands of combat veterans have written books and news articles, public TV interviews and some in movies of their experiences in all of America's wars so those who say real combat vets don't talk about their war experiences are sadly mistaken or jealous. Pat Brady wrote a book titled "Dead Men Flying" and Novosel's book is below. https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=2115106485458192&set=pcb.2115109565457884 https://www.facebook.com/498thDustoffUnarmedandAlone

  8. Packnrat In my former crooked little hometown in Texas a certain savings and loan bank was selling people's home mortgages to a Houston outfit that bundled many different types of loans for investment purposes to WS funds without giving the people the opportunity to pay off the house loan. Interest rates were then increased on the outstanding loans in form of new fees and other expenses, etc., etc. and they started receiving threatening letters of foreclosure and possible loss of homes. Although legal this was very unethical said the secretary and wife of the local S&L owner just before they moved to Houston. They later divorced. She was close friends of my mother just so you know. American style dark capitalism is so very lovely and sophisticated /hypocritical. Unlike the 50s the local police force in the 80s was a sick joke. In spite of best efforts of some others I live a very comfortable life with lots of outdoor activities in scenic western USA. Did I say FISHING-FISHING. 9. I love those cook jokes in the movies. " Blame it on the cook" said Gary Bussey in a movie. "He is a cook??" ask Tommy Lee Jones in a movie. Capt. Bill Perkins flying with the Royal Thai Air Police https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1735404620095049&type=3
  10. I had the honor of shaking hands and saluting two MOH recipients at veterans memorial services over the years. They both died young like SGT. Benavidez (age 63) along with fellow (84 year old) medevac Dustoff pilot CWO Mike Novosel MOH and his medevac son (still young) who was a fellow flight student at Hunter AAF in 1969. Father and son flew Dustoff missions together in Nam and died within several years of each other in Florida. RIP to all of them. https://www.facebook.com/498thMemorialPageVietnamPilots
  11. I have had my share of run ins with nasty Racoons camping in east Texas and at state park near Rock Port. They have stolen my fish at night from a bucket by crossing a busy road and stealing when my back was turned. A three legged coon stole non food items from my camp table at night and he and partners hissed and showed lots of teeth when I protested. They would scamper up a near tree and chatter and stare down at you for fun. At same state park they almost stole a fresh cooked hamburger and fries I was eating when I left table for a beer in the nearby cooler. I saved a mama coon and her babies trapped in a large steel dumpster in the heat of summer day at same park. Received no thanks only more hissing. Cheers https://www.facebook.com/Pilot-Bill-Perkins-Exotic-Living-And-Travels-in-Far-East-and-SE-Asia-1425108021122523
  12. I have also received good veterans discounts for several AT&T services by applying in nearby ATT store. I am fan of both Verizon and AT. Just saying "This is good mighty good" said C Heston in a movie https://www.facebook.com/CWOBillPerkins
  13. Thanks for the up to date info RV. So far I have had absolutely no problems with my new WIN 10 Lenovo laptop or two WIN 10 upgrades on much older Laptops with one of them being a refurbished Dell and the other an old Acer Vista laptop. I also have a still new 8.1 Dell or Lenovo and refurbished Lenovo WIN 7. When doing the free upgrades I carefully followed instructions from outfits like CNET, others on three different RV forums. I keep all my laptops for backup and more learning experiences such as upgrades, etc. Idiot actor Mel Gibson said in a movie "Being a nut case pays well" and he ought to know.
  14. I appreciate the Thank You Dan and wish you all the best.
  15. Bruce T I have seen photos of your Aussie trucks that are everywhere in the outback. Neat looking trucks and wish they were available in USA as an additional option to choose from. Cheers. Idiot actor Mel Gibson said in a movie "Being a Nut Case pays well" He should know.
  16. I missed your earlier question. Did you post it on page 1 or 2 ??????????????
  17. Not all combat vets are alike thank goodness and many civilians I know from my hometown and even presently really want to know what many of us experienced as reality and not hollywood BS. A recent HS reunion honored me as I was only living member of my class of several hundred that was a combat veteran of any war. Also hometown news paper has written several articles on the combat experiences of myself and WWII veterans over the years as their readers want to hear from those who were actually there. If this upsets others then T So there you are folks. Former Acct/SEC CFP. https://www.facebook.com/498thDustoffUnarmedandAlone A common enough American disease is jealously
  18. I have noticed on some forums there are those who live to nit pick and argue endlessly over everything and anything including trivial subjects. I could care less where he puts his ******* factories and was just stating my observations as i have seen of the entire Texas coast line as a former helicopter pilot. Your dislike and jealously of me is dually noted and you can now move on to argue with others over everything and anything. Why have others not built large factories right on the Texas coast??? I feel sorry for you sport or is it Cheers
  19. As others said 95 and 163 are great routes all the way from LV to Laughlin. I have driven it twice. RV Happy and former Acct & SEC CFP There are no losers only winners a Mama bear said to baby bear. https://www.facebook.com/CaptainWilliamPerkinsInternationalHelicopter
  20. Canaveral is in Florida and mostly flat launching pads with minimal facilities compared to a large factory such as automobile manufacturing but again he can afford the high insurance premiums.
