  1. That's fine if this is about a truck, which is why I asked, but got no answer.
  2. I do. Possibly more good info could be gained if this were in the Technical section,, where it's much more likely people who know about this are browsing.
  3. Yeah, that's what I was asking. Unless this is for an HDT, it surely isn't an HDT topic.
  4. Note that it says "DO NOT string this battery in series". Probably not relevant to most situations, but would kill it for me. Anyway, thanks for the heads up. That's a great buy!

    regen problems

I did call my mechanic who told me to hitch up and drive 3 hours. I was hoping somebody had experience with this weird little switch that has a pull-down tab on it.
  6. I don't even have those. I have to crawl under the truck.

    regen problems

Once again I'm having regeneration problems on my 2008 Cummins 8.3. I don't know if this is "normal", or if I really do have an issue. 3 years ago the DPF plugged up to the point of derating, at 100k miles, and I had it replaced at considerable cost. The truck has run fine since then, but, after a couple of hours of city driving yesterday which couldn't be avoided, I arrived home to hear that dreaded groaning engine sound and the DPF full light came on. I tried to start a manual regen, but I'm not sure I pressed the switch correctly as I later saw it has a little slider tab and a down arrow on it. I did not notice that. Now, I'm hoping I can simply hook up and start towing to make this problem go away. There's no freeway near me so I cannot drive at high speed. I may be able to get the manual regen to work later if I press the switch correctly, but that requires a warm engine and I'm not taking that chance right now. Sooo... can I assume this truck is regenerating properly when driving as it's been fine for years until yesterday? Can a truck shop make this thing regen if I can't? (I talked to Sportchassis yesterday but this person wasn't much help) Thanks
  8. Crawling under this truck every day is not something I'll ever be doing. I have never found the air dryer, and according to my mfr, there isn't one. I'll keep looking.
  9. I don't know what that means, but it doesn't sound friendly.
  10. I never have nor have I seen it done. I'll get a new part, I just need it to stop leaking for now.
  11. Are they standard pipe threads? I really don't need this thing as it never has any water in it.
  12. Lol.. there's always another leak I don't know about. Where is the rubber seal?
  13. 2008 Sportchassis cummins 8.3. I have 2 air tanks, and both have that needle valve thingy on them you're supposed to push now and then to expel any condensed water inside. One of them has a slow leak, and I'm not sure how to stop it. I have crawled underneath and fiddled with it, and I got the leak to become less, but I can't stop it and it allows my rear suspension bags to deflate over a few days. The next thing I may try is pushing it open and blowing air back up into it, thinking there's something like a grain of sand stuck on the lip. I hesitate to take it apart as I'm out in the sticks and I don't need any catastrophes. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks
  14. Good story. It pays to make a note of exactly how you parked. I had to look up 'bull gear'.. but still not sure what that is.
  15. My cummins and I thank you. It's difficult to trust any Las Vegas business.
  16. Something similar, and very strange, is what happens after a day's travel. The water flow in the bathroom is terrible, and the water pump makes noise like crazy. The solution is to flush the toilet. Weird huh?
  17. Right. That's not lying, that's learning. Big difference. Lying is deliberately withholding the truth as you know it.
  18. If you are, a mattress heater uses very little power.
  19. Well, you obviously can't inject something that cold into the human body.
  20. I would assume this vaccine is solid at that storage temp...? So I guess a thaw period is needed?
