  1. I did talk to Shirley M, No real explanation for the errors but may request were in the Computer so we could talk about my past request. They were still operating from a June request not Sept and Oct request. Anyway I did cancel all forwarding. Next request will be to have a Absentee Ballot delivered, ordered today. My daughter got interested so I read the 10 Propositions again. One I do have interest so come on Fed-ex Thanks everyone for your responses Clay
  2. I didn't see where I mentioned the model but if you been viewing past comments you would indeed know, I have a 2016 MS 38PS3 but it is Modified unit 41 feet long. The back half is the same as the PS3 but the front half is a Dallas. In our case, the difference is a smaller shower, a long bathroom vanity with sink (which is absent in the PS3). Then we have 2 pocket doors between the Bathroom and Bedroom. The remaining difference is the large closet. I sold B&S home with acreage and barn down sizing to a small storage unit and the DRV. Since I'm near the unit most of time, I travel with a lot of stuff that is used periodically. My wife "to be" helped with the order. So for living we have the space needed in the right area. Lots of cabinet area, however on the upper panty door, DW stores can items on the door. I think the design was for potato chips thus I couldn't keep the door adjusted. I added extra hinges and so problem since. We are not full time but spend over 6 months RV each year but this year Medical problems have kept us close to my wife's house. The RV is about to turn 4 years old with nearly 25,000 miles weighting in at 20,000#, with maybe 20 gallons of water (12 HW Heater) I previously had a Montana with less than 5,000 mile and traded after another 15,000 added. Comparably no problem with the DRV. Just watch the chalking and do do the maintenance as needed. I have not had the Front Jack problem many have talked about and my Pin weight is 5,000 lbs. One thing common to the Earlier 2016 models is the 3 inch lights commonly found on the slide (4 inch on the ceiling). The failure are blinking or dim The originals had 3 LEDs and replacements were 6 LEDs but I had one of those fail now. If the previous owner didn't take care of the chalking you will have problems RUN Clay with the 55 cent version
  3. Thanks for the reconstruction note. That can be an extra load, anyway a call is on list. But being sent to CA is a second issue. I glad that was caught. Clay
  4. Is anyone have mail service problems or is it just me. I have been using Escapees Mail Service about 6 years with excellent service. But the last 5 weeks have not been good. Examples If I say hold my mail til xxxxx, The mail in held one week and continued. If I say continue every other week starting xxxxx, the mail continues every week. All the confirming responses have been repeated normal until earlier this week. If I tell them to forward my mail Oct 29 and Nov 18 . Shirley responses "Do you want the mail to go to Valley Center CA on 11/4?" I haven't been in CA for nearly 40 years and don't expect to return. Clay
  5. Welcome to the forum. Yes tell us more about the model Also the last numbers of the Serial Number as 2016 was one of the first years DRV was under Thor and changes were being made. The Elite Suites is the most expensive unit but many Mobile Suites have many upgrades to Elite items. Both units are heavy because the DRV's have a good frame under them. With MORryde I.S. suspension the ride to the RV must be Great as we don't secure chairs and furniture down like we did in another popular RV that conventional axles. The caulking is the most important as mentioned earlier. My second problem is construction is mostly assembly by Glue and staples. I have had two different areas where the glue and the staples were not placed together this the glue failed to bond to any thing. My 2016 41 foot Mobile Suites was built in Oct 2015. So the one your looking at should have the no big problems after 3-4 years use if the caulking problem was fixed in a timely manner. Clay
  6. After tenting about 6 years and a good friend had a bear open the back side of their tent, we went for hard sides. It was a 14 foot 1968 Road Runner TT that would sleep 6 (3 adults comfortably) After about 12 years it was sold and not replaced for nearly 25 years. I then brought a small class C (23 foot), and traded up to a 37 foot FW and now a 40 foot FW all in the last 9 years. The Tow vehicle increased from the Ford Falcon (we also tented with) to now a MDT. What a difference required to increase from the Ice Box to a residential refrigerator Clay
  7. What is the definition of your failure, 1- Leaking oil 2- dropping on there own when traveling 3- not holding the position. I have had numbers 2&3. #2 was a procedural problem that I had operated a slide and didn't re-pressurize the landing jacks. #3 I feel is a design problem but I'm not ready for the limited stroke cylinder so for parked for long I used tripod to support some of the pin weight. If I had #1 or #3 was excessive, I would be at Hydraulic rebuilt shop with cylinders in add. Question on the landing jacks load. If a person has 20-25 % of the load on the pin what would be the static weight on the landing jacks, would it be up to 33% of load. And then the gussy wind blows and the dymanic loading could be ??? Clay My DRV starting setting on the jacks 4 years ago this month
  8. My wife changed from an Advantage plan to Plan G and couldn't get the cheapest, her medical mentioned COPD. She is insured with Blue Cross Blue Shield, no problem. Part D we are insured by Aetna with no problem but they have been bought out by WELLCARE and for me that was BAD BAD bad. Two problems, I had payment problems and you couldn't talk to them. Customer service left me cussing. Anyway when I stopped using them they send me a check promptly for the months I overpaid which I knew I had to pay at their insistance to continue service. Were looking for a new plan Clay
  9. I agree with the first statement 100%. The second statement is more than Money. Isn't Safety still number one in what we do or how we do it. In my working years I was questioned about my watchful eye over people but in the end was thanked for their safety. And my D is stopped with a Class 5. Clay
  10. Just thinking if the UTV is registered anywhere legally for street use and the address was in a county or area requiring Emmission test. Would there be a prior approval as such? Clay
  11. Could this be the bug that allowed the passwords to be stripped from my computer. It also requires me to sign-in each time I use my Outlook acct. I getting to old for this, lets go back to DOS 6.23 or was it 3.23 Clay
  12. It isn't just Ford. Most of the time it is Basic vehicle and the fine print.?? But vehicles aren't the worst, watch out for the RV's. And it not just the the hand full of extra stables and longer screws that was used added accessories and upgrades. Then maybe the axle placement was off a few inches, which effects the pin weight. When in doubt ,check the weights before you move in. Clay driving a Class 5 pulling and stopping a 40 foot FW
  13. Remember there are two types of fulltimer. Those who work for a living, following the job(s). And are those who are retired, following Grandchildren, seeing old friends and relatives that live all over the nation. Everyone assumes the government to be Federal, but also the State, Cities, and any taxing body is Government including Schools. There are all GREEDY. Clay Retired worker 15 years and 8 years retired from part time work. Was Full Time RV'er over 2 years parking in a lot driveways. Is the IRS (who ever they are) looking at the long driveways also??? I suspect the school system is looking children to school.
  14. On my FW that would be my Battery Charger/invertor (12 vdc to 120 vac)., so watch your battery Voltage. Of course as you travel the truck should put some charge into the battery(s). Good luck and happy travels Clay
  15. I don't know what your RV is, but the Circuit breakers be for the 120 vac equipment and the LED's would be part of on your 12 vdc circuits which are fused. What is that Circuit breaker servicing? Clay with a FW
  16. The long toppers were adjusted & tightened at an age of about 2 1/2 years. It didn't help much for long. ARGO has the correct solution, use sunscreen as the main benefit of have a topper is to keep debris off the seals and offering shade. Clay 2016 DRV
  17. Welcome to the forum. I have three Carefree toppers. I haven't had slide toppers before. That said the awning I have always wring up but the fabric droops, holding water. or flop in the wind . I have watched expensive Class A's that that don't seem to have the problem. My short Carfree topper is less than 8 foot, no problem. The toppers were ordered when I ordered my 2016 Fifth Wheel Happy shopping. Talk to users not salesmen. Clay
  18. Yes you can use that info but you need some Multi maybe 3-4 times that average. For sizing your invertor if that is what your plans are, you will need to see what the short term usage may be. The good measure of that would be turn everything on at one time that may used could be used to prepare the meal. I have a 2800 watt invertor and that is not enough for my wife to start cooking some meals. I can't see the advantage to running everything on the Inverter. The refrigerator, Medical Equipment, some electronics you may need to watch the weather plus a few outlet receptacles for periodical use items. Clay
  19. The Profile list Yuba City, CA which is north of Sacremento. No knowledge of climate. What a challenge with a two old. Clay
  20. What is weigh and what is your truck. Gradual climb and some steeper downgrades. Take your time. Clay
  21. I had a 2011 F350 which would do something similar. I would take the truck fuel fill cap off a few moments . Problems would correct itself. Kind of like burping a baby or filling at the filling station Clay My aux tank was 40 gal
  22. I have Miller and I also recommend them. However last December I bought a car and added it to the Truck and RV policy. In April, I called to reduce the coverage on the car as I would be storing the car for 6 months. I was told that any coverage change would reduce all my coverage limits from the $500,000 limits to $150,000 or $250,000. So I kept everything the same and plan to look for and umbrella policy. MDT and HDT onwers

The wheel base is 183 inches making the distance at least 170 inches not allowing for height difference. The axle hub is knee height and the EGR cooler and components associated are above wrist high . The Site Manager is sending a fellow to take pictures. It is taking him a long time to travel 70 miles. Must be a good doughnut place i don't know about . Clay

    MDT and HDT onwers

It is getting common for me to have truck service, going in with one problem and getting home with two problems. Last week went in with dash Malfunction light. Turned out to the EGR cooler was plugged because of leakage. That was all under the hood work but get home a rear axle is leaking. Another way of saying this, "My head was to worked on and I woke up the next morning to find my HEMORRHOIDS were beat on and bleeding." I had moved the truck after setting two days to find oil all over the wheel. I removed the hubcap to see stored oil. I look at the axle end and BIG HAMMER marks were found. Looked at the other side, same problem. So far it seems like a big cover-up in the shop. I can't imagine the reason for the BIG hammer or the internal damage but another shop is scheduled to look at the problems tomorrow. Any predictions?
