  1. it all depends on the dog, human, and conditions. my dogs were very friendly, (sad both have aged out long ago) loved to play with kids. but there were a couple of "kids" they alerted on. good thing they stopped coming around, (the two boys did not live in that area). never approch a dog you do not know, without asking the owner first.
  2. ca is not that bad, but never ask the doj about any law. as they are the worst to let you know the truth. best to go to https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/index.php but in a nut shell. all pistols or any gun that can be concealed on your person, must be unloaded and locked up. yes loaded mags can be in the same place as the pistol. lock is defined as what any reasonable person would know as a combo or pad lock. hard or soft case. can not use the glove box or center console for this. NEVER bring in any mag that can hold more than 10 rounds. then the so called "safe gun" list.. it changes. no law says you have to tell the officer about a gun on you, or in your ca,truck, etc. just say i have nothing illegal on me. but they do the "just cause" searches all the time. --holds up in court--
  3. more junk to get your money from you. if you are worried about bugs, just get some screen door screen, and make one that snaps (or velcros) on to your grill.
  4. i am not sold on led's. sure they use a little less juice, and put out light in the wrong color spectrum, so just looks like more light some times, then the new headlights on cars and trucks, hurt my eyes. and the ones i looked at to replace my very usable ones are very costly. as to longevity. i say hog wash as i see so many of them out at traffic lights, and they have to be replaced a lot on the rigs at work. (outside and inside lights). in my 5er, the bulbs are a good 18 years old (maybe longer due to warehousing time). rv new in 2001. so i still have lots of time on them. only one "burned" but it was the connector that failed, and the vanity it was the glue not the bulb that failed. but i do have this box of running lights (red-amber) that are leds, as the cheap ones from the factory, the lens, bases are cracking apart, falling off the coach and letting water in. reg dot commercial lights are made better. yes still plastic, but twice as thick. replacing these due to many fails of the plastic lens, O and i can get replacement lens and parts almost everywhere. but i am saving the bulbs for use inside, if any, ever do burn out. i am 60, and at the rate they are working and lasting me, i will be long gone and forgotten before i run out of them. but then if/when i buy a new rv, it will be all leds from the start...maybe.
  5. NO do not "follow" a big rig. as for driver's it is common for driver to hate tail gaiters, even if they are 1/4 mile behind us. and hijacking does happen, so some trucking company's do call out the state police if you "follow" a rig. know your route, before you get there, that way you know how and where to go. decades back a friend followed a rig, at night in the valley fog. was surprised when the truck lights went out, he did not know where he was. and was 40 miles off the hwy up a lowly canyon at the driver home. so "that truck" is not going where you are going.
  6. i will stick with my normal bulbs till they burn out. (decades from now). as the anti green leds are way over priced. --$25,usd ver $0.50 cents. vanity blub in my rv.-- (i say anti green as nothing in a led is recyclable, but everything in a incandescent bulb is). as i have never had a electric supply problem running reg light bulbs. so at least for me there is no reason to drop $100.usd or more just for "change".
  7. as to replacement/ungraded parts?? but first check and see if both motors are getting any juice? broken wire, blown fuse, etc. are both motors turning? a broken safety link in the drive?
  8. i guess i am strange. i like “cash” no app needed. only money transfer i use is via my bank ( for bills) saves me on stamps. and pay pal money transfer. used rarely. with all these other apps the market is messed up as who accepts who? and in reading from that link, one money program has a spy program were others can watch your money dealing. thats just wrong.
  9. kinda spooky coming home as all lights are out reminds me of the weeks after 9-11.
  10. in the gold country east of stockton. calaveras county.
  11. O as a side note. power out, but a leave blower is going, and going, and going.
  12. seeing as up to today i have never had a reason to use the generic twist lock, but thanks to how a political party is in favor of turning off the juice here in ca. i now have a reason to use it. up till today it has always been only for the rv. and my thinking on this was no “adapter” just plug and be happy. ( less things to go bad/lose) but now this is the second time this season, they have turned off the flow. and say more to come. ( winter on the way) so now have to link up to my house. but can not buy the items i need due to power out over a large area. at just under $5.usd a gallon (can you say price gouging) can not afford to drive 100 miles ( one way) to find a hardware store open. boon docking is good. but not for the stick-n-brick house. but i did find out my eu3000. on eico, with limited load did last over night on less than a full tank. (14 hr work night).
  13. ok so many of us use a honda 3000. but it only comes factory with a utility plug. why not a rv 30 amp plug? sad they are different dia so would need to drill out said hole in the gen “dash” to fit the rv plug. has any done this? just connect right? my thinking is to have a clean look and not having to find out a dog took off with a “dog bone” adaptor.
  14. thought this thread was about a new chassis? not another motor. every X number of years ford stops building a motor and brings in another one. so everybody with the older motor has to junk it out within 10 years due to no support from the manf, or aftermarket. i like my 5er, but if somebody would build a dedicated quality rv chassis, that can handle dirt roads, have a tight turn rad. all wheel (two or three axle) air powered disk brakes, and run on air bags, from the factory. not a converted bus or truck frame.
  15. what about using one of the "mini" post WWII "toy" cars? legal on the roads in the U,S,A? yes costly, but they are very small and light weight.
  16. ca is a very beautiful place to visit. so much to see. it would take many life times to see everything. (stay away from the tourist traps) and life is great. fill up your fuel tanks before coming into this state. just sad the people in control of this state are fools to understand how life should be. they want a total socialist style control.
  17. it's ca. what do you expect, the demo's under the dome in sac, and all there appointed minions, know they can do better than what trained and qualified personal can do. and they get the great benefit of more control, and spin of all the info that is allowed to get out to the masses.
  18. O and as a side note. ---most likely not nanny approved---- but ok for truck drivers. as a commercial driver i used to do team runs. the bunk in the back had this "spider web: thingy to help keep us in bed during a accident.
  19. and to think we used to climb aboard a pu truck with NO restrains in the bed holding up to 15 or so of us. at freeway speeds. this nanny state hurts more than it helps. infant car seats, toddler car seats. booster seats. kids just small, must be in a "special" seat. enough is enough. now with that said..... sure car seats can save a life...maybe. put away your flame throwers. but i believe as long as your baby's seat is a quality unit and soundly secured (bolted with large dia washers) to any solid point under the seat in a motor home, truck, car, etc. i do not see a need to have it bolted to the frame. heck in bad accidents the body of a motor-home (and trailer rv) do come off the frames. and self destruct. most accidents are of the minor so i say do what you believe your need for your peace of mind. (pending nanny laws) as like here in ca every year or two one needs to buy a new one as the what was nanny approved last year. is now a crime to use this year. i have no kids just see this in the news all the time. yes i have done some "study's" just reading other peoples study's, about the dynamic involved in even a slower speed accident. some years back a fool hit me head-on he was doing 100mph. so i kinda have this life interest in such things. and yes we do owe ourselves, and our loved ones the best we can do to help keep them from getting hurt. so go out drop the $600.usd for a new fanged improved deluxe seat. never buy old from the discount store. as the new and improved should provide a bit more comfort. and maybe better safety. 99.999999% of the time it will just be a uneventful drive. so best to keep the little ones comfortable. as to laws stating what to or not to do in a motor-home. i have not seen any..need to find out. as to anchors. not sure where you live. or your capability. but you can buy the web strap mtr and locks at places around the country. just do not buy the el-cheap-o trash. buy quality here. and you can build up the anchors as needed.
  20. i can not say as to the "never lube" brand rv bearings. but i have seen many of the sealed communist chinese made bearings with little to NO lube in them from the factory, or new out of the box already out of speck. (motorcycle wheel bearings mostly here). kinda like decades back it was bad to buy ANY motor part for a vw beetle. "made in brazil" 99% were bad or just did not fit. but till i can get to it, to know the correct part to buy it is all talk.
  21. i will stick to my 18,000gw hr gen that i keep off site.
  22. problem, maybe you can help with info?

i just found out this evening my mom fell...again. she was afraid to even let me know. was to be in palm springs with her boyfriend right now. but she had to bail on him at the last sec. (he owns property there).

this time the Dr said her hart has a problem. (same as her mom), so new drug. not sure now if she can make the trip to the escapade. travel thing.

but question. partial refund, and move from full hook up to boon-docking,  as if just me i can live without the "fancy" stuff. not a full bail, just down grading my ticket. from full hookup to boon-docking, from two adults, to just me, from handy capped, to reg spot.

as for right now it is a time will tell thing. i am just not sure if this new drug (and all the others ) will allow my mom to sit in a pu truck for up to 8 hrs (time pulled out of a hat) straight and then X hrs in a day. then her falling just getting out of a car. could she even handle the steps in and out of my pu, rv, other?

this is not her first fall.  bringing her along with me was a ? at best, now looks like a no-go.

but this choice is a couple months away. just thought i would ask you as i know of no other, and you seam to be one who knows things here.

  23. oct here now, and have heard nothing on broadcast tv about this show. but then discovery refuses to broadcast there programing, (at least around here) only pay to view deals. is there going to be a online blog type like some have tried?
  24. i was not saying workers clothing. but industrial items. aka the chem soaked items from a small company that refuses to get there items cleaned the safe, proper and legal way.
  25. only good i see in junk mail, is it keeps the doors open at the USPS.
