this. place a cell phone someplace with a good charger for said. as they can call 911, by law the phone company's can not lock them out. can not call aunt sally, but you can call the police but in this digital age the better analog phones are locked out. as no backward compatible in the system.

first what do you need to bug out from? that will say what you need in a bug out bag. if a full on collapse of the gov kind of thing, no electricity kind of thing, no computer stuff is of any value. mother earth got mad again. then yes have copy's of the most important things. but your bob must be light enough for you to carry for days. have food, water, shelter, sanitary, clean yourself, medical, heat, a way to clean water,. spare clothing (for heat and cold).

no I say to computers, as they can not do as good a job as humans, sure on a test track (even if it is a contained freeway) a computer can do great on a clear sunny day/star filled night, but so far NO computer has been able to control any car, truck, etc during all what really goes on driving down the open rds. toss in a variable, as in a non programed issue and the computer fails. who here wants to be the fail?

if you took all the humans on this blue marble and put them together, it would just fill up the state of texas. this world is not over flowing with humans, yet. just some city's are. bad part is we as a species keep paving over our best crop land. and can not use most of the dirt, as it can not grow food all that well. then thousands of sq miles of good crop land does not grow food for us to eat.

not a firefighter. but any here that can say how fast a small rv (mine is a 25 footer) goes up. and what the number one cause of a fire is? i tend to believe it is not the propane supply. but this is getting off track a bit. the question was about securing said tanks from theft. so far No laws stating how to or not how to, lock them up have been listed.

go down to a quality bike store. buy a full sprung bike. (you will understand with in a mile of riding it), yes money gets you a very light bike. under 20 pounds. a wally wourld bike can top out over 40 pounds. but during travel keep them inside the coach. at camp well locked up. or again inside. as good bikes tend to roll away. but never off the back bumper, far too much bouncing, will destroy any bike. and can fall off and you would not know about it. there are special bike racks for the tops of trucks. still lower than the top of your rv. or cross bed on top of the extra fuel tank.

i just fear not having a 14 hr a day job. and trying to learn how to relax might kill me. i have been on the go for 40 years. and have forgotten how to slowdown and relax. i must always be doing something. and yes i relate to the 3 sec microwave thing.

note to twotoes. ca does not non-opp rvs. at least not in the past 10years. small utility trailers get a 5 or 10 year tag, so non-opp also.

well all i know is propane is heaver than the air, so it floats down. and there is NO floor just a steel beam to hold the tanks in place. so venting is not a problem. and the door and compartment are not "air sealed" . as to "securing" things, a crow bar will easily open any outside hatch on any rv made. heck the door is easy to just rip apart, so access for a fireman is nothing. and if the tanks are on fire i doubt even he will try to get in there, as the fire will very quickly burn out to him. might already be out of the coach body by the time the truck gets to my place (and i do live close to a fire station). a simple locking latch (heck the fireman might even have a key on him) on the compartment door. a cable with lock going through the tank handles, maybe a added bar to impead the removal of the tanks. and that bolt thread locking gizmo. 2-4 portable rv tanks do not fall under the DOT regs as a rv is not a commercial (at least mine is not) endever, the "reportable" amounts have not been reached. but i have seen the forest cops ticket people for having a "unsecured" bbq tank in the back of a pick-up. my only thinking here is so the bums and meth heads can not easily get to my property. i would love to park in my back yard. lots of room back there. (1/4 acre), who here is willing to come to my place with the correct construction equipment and dig out a place for the rv? i can buy you lunch. as i can not afford the true cost of this.

still locked to a snb house. as to locking or not? i see no reason to not lock them away. as if a fire, gasoline, diesel are behind locks. and are far more volatile. ( bigger bang). ( right now my ford has over 40 gals of diesel, the dodge has a good 20 gal of gas, then i guess another odd 20 gas+ couple bbq tanks. in the garage). and if things here were on fire. there are much bigger worries than a couple 7gal ( if full) propane tanks.

please state fed law on this, if a state law then please give numbers for also. not trying to be a () just for correct info.

my thinking is for layers. starting with locking the access hatch. —keeps good people good—. then bars mounted to the coach body to physically prevent removal. ending with secure cabling through the handles, more? sad for this area, but more bums and walking trash moving in. they are getting pushed out of the city's ( no room for more of them there). do to my job, i am gone most of the day, and all night. ( gone 18+ hrs a day) so they have plenty of time to do there dead's. rv is parked so they have easy access. no street lights. would cost $10’s of thousands to make a place behind the fence. ( possible blasting? lots of live rock to get out of the hill). mind is jumbled, just woke up, ( got a whole 6 hrs sleep) burnt breakfast. no time to do anything today, off to work in a hr.

well after all these years, someone is messing around with my rv. i know can only do so much. but what are the laws for securing the propane tanks( as written, applied). as to chaining, locking them in?

noise? what a subject. i used to love peace and quiet, but now i have ringing in my ears, now never a quitet moment. but so much ”other” sound drowns it out. but still i do not want those (self corrected) kids running around screaming, or the drunk frat boys partying. yes at 60 i do get grouchy. but then i am a loner type. give me two-three months—longer away from everything. e wming.

now i just have to get from busted to a good $8,K in the bank. ($5,000 for the bills), ($3,K for fun).

looks good, and a couple side trips... maybe. just need to get up out of this lack of money hole. maybe try and do a five day work week. (i now get 50 to 55 hrs in a four day work week). just started the new bid, last bid i just got in over 40 hrs in a 4 day week .. employer kept screwing around with the work days, cutting hrs, or just removing a days work for some. fed law says i can do 70 hrs. but at 59 going on 60. long hrs hurt. then three un planed bills hit me.

there are sites a plenty out of the park, all dry. but free. just have to look for them. and stop at the logging museum on hwy 97. and ask about how to get to the springs. worth the side trip. all free. and train mountain on hwy 97 just out of chilquin or.

i can not say about canada and there anti safety laws. but in most of the USA, a baseball bat with no other "game" things can land you in jail. and never ever say to any law enforcement, "it's for safety" not even in the USA. as to the bat, just keep a couple of used baseballs and a glove with it for the game. those little key chain sprays, are junk at best. the bigger one that will stop a bear are illegal in some states. as to food, if it can be called "fresh" do not take it with you, including into california. booze only in very limited amounts. guns, lets say store them in a very safe, very secure place (like maybe a pawn shop--for loan only deals. best is family) till you get back into the USA. there game, there rules, they control everything. so must play there way. best is to contact one of there embassy a month before going there for papers, meds, and such. as well as the newest laws and implication of them.

as said already go to a truck stop.. one of the better ones. they have everything you need right there. truck stops have never been the lowest cost (for most everything), but these day about your only real source for a cb radio. then find real cb radio tech. have him "tune up" NOT "turn up: the radio/antenna combo. back in the day in my cj7 i could get a clear transmit out to 50 miles. with no booster, and was putting out less than the legal 5 watts.

i tried searching for any info. and got nothing. shows how bad at computers i am. good ad. but says nothing about cost. wanting to go just in a bind right now. hoping i can get the cash to do this.

the company i drive for has this very unsafe auto breaking thing. a fool gets on the fwy cutting you off, or doing 30 under the speed of traffic and your trucks brakes auto apply. now the truck is doing 20 mph and gets rear ended cause the car behind you could not stop in time. and the fool just drives away at full speed unknowing they just caused a pileup on the freeway. or just a glitch causes the brakes to auto apply. then theirs the lane drift buzzer (a distraction) keeps going off cause of a bend in the rd. or your distracted cause you have to spend time watching out for the penalty cam flashing at you. cause the truck just hit a pot hole you did not see cause you are watching out for the penalty cam flashing at you..etc. so all this high tech stuff is mostly trash. the trucks are in the shop more for computer fixes then breakdowns. the driver "problem is there is not enough QUALIFIED drivers. there are plenty of un skilled fools trying to drive. and yes we are bringing in far less than 20 years back. used to bring in $1500.usd a week. now can not even get $1000.usd a week.and this is for the same number of hrs. and crazy but my rate of pay now is much larger than 20 years back. just after taxes i have problems paying the bills. (couple weeks back i did the math and over 37% of my gross pay went to taxes).

never been to one of these events, worth the co$t? i guess lots of seminars, maybe a dealer or two shows up, some kind of a flea market, get together's? how far in advance to buy tickets? cost? extra cost to be close? as might bring my mom. and she can not walk very far. ad says hookups, any dry camping? --save some cash?--.

concrete pad. a good 12 feet wide. and longer than your rv + truck, by at least three feet. (maybe longer if you ever plan on getting a longer rig). this way if for any reason, you need to work around this rv/truck you have a solid place to work. and yes to footings for a roof, i say go permit with solar up top. then "trim" for two feet around all this with railroad crushed rock style road base. easier to spray kill all weed killer here. then six feet farther (if you have room) trees.(shade). and do not forget a patio area. (for dirt, dust, mud control). do not forget to plan ahead for fresh water in, power in, and bad water out.
