  3. How does camping world stay in business with so many bad reviews?
  4. You have two types of people. Some people go by what the specs say and go right to the limit and some people want a large buffer before being at max limit. That will always be.

    Comparing brands

I recently bought a 2002 Beaver. I am finding it is very well built. Look up AZxpert youtube channel. He just bought a Beaver and done a very good video on it. He worked at the factory, then done rv repairs the rest of his life. Monaco bought them out in 2001 but Beaver was mostly unchanged until I think 2004.
  6. From an ex Snap-on tool dealer what GeorgiaHybrid said has a lot of wisdom. I would add to not fall for the lifetime warranty of lessor brands. In the long run only a few will be around for a lifetime. Son-in-law has a $500k building to work on $500k combines with $10k worth of cheep tools. I don't under stand. Good tools are cheep compared to paying $150 per hour for service. Look on ebay an you will see snap-on tools hold their value very well.

  8. In the old day if you broke a 1/2 " socket you took it back to sears to get a replacement. No sears stores around so not now.
  9. The problem with Craftsman is are they going to be selling the same unit in five years? Probably not hence no service on new batteries. From being a Snap on tool dealer 25 years ago I learned one thing. If you want a quality tool or power tool go see what the folks in the trade use. Otherwise buy the cheapest you can and realize it is a throwaway.

    fuel cost

Yesterday in North Platte,NE the big boys on the interstate were $4.09 for credit and one block of the interstate at a truck stop price was $3.49 for credit. The big boys are ripping us off.
  11. Camped at Brownsville 15 years ago. Rescue and police all night. Can't imagine what it is like now. Will never go back.
  12. So don't get a water softener it is a free country. A LOT of folks have softened water. And by the way with softened water you use only 1/4 of normal amount of soap which is good for the environment or is that more lies. Several people have told you the same thing. I'm done.
  13. I don't know, maybe most water softeners are rated by grain capacity so I guess it still applies. I have NEVER seen a water softener rated in ppm's so I guess we are still in the 40's
  14. So what you are saying is most water comes through a water treatment plant that gets the hardness to about 6 grains. WRONG. There are many parts of the US that have 15 to 25 grains coming into the house. Minnesota, Arizona, Texas, even in Nebraska where I live. There are many many private wells also that provide water and people aren't sick from high sodium. Peoples diets of boxed food contain way more sodium than softened water.
  15. The amount of sodium added is related to the grains of hardness. 10 grain water is fairly common although that varies from where in the country you are. If you soften one quart of 10 grain water you add 73 milligrams of sodium or about the amount of sodium in 2 slices of bread. Ask a doctor how many gallons of water you need to drink per day to get your daily amount of calcium. Now back to drinking water, how many drink bottled water. At least half is RO water with no minerals.
  16. Right on! Ever seen a poor Insurance agent??????????????
  17. A friends Dad just went into nursing home in Nebraska. He still can walk to the toilet which saves money. $10000 per month thats right. Very few long term care policies sold 10 years ago will even come close to $10k per month. But most, not all but most folks are gone fairly soon after entering long term care..
  18. Go down to Rocky ford then 10 to Walsenburg. Better road than 350 to Trinidad. Don't go from Brush to Limon in a snow storm. They quit plowing at 5:00 PM.
  19. A gamble I would not take unless you like casinos where you throw your money away. No title no money.
  20. Where can I get and how much for the ET hitch cover?
  21. I wonder how many people have coolant sensor problems compared to real low coolant issues. Just because the over flow tank is low doesn't mean the radiator is. Especially with motorhomes but trucks also it seems like there are lots of issues with coolant sensor.
  22. I will add a comment. My wife only weights 110 pounds. With the nationals in my Volvo she hardly moves because she is so light. I have called national but they basically could care less and a new shock is 6 months out. REALLY! So if your wife is on the light side I would make sure you find a seat that has air for a fit before you buy.
  23. If this post is against rules moderator can delete. Go to smokestack.com, scroll down to onan site. Have model, serial and spec number. Ask your question. These are sharp guys on onan's.
  24. I see how a high percentage of truckers run now days. If it wasn't for the rumble strips on the side of the road they would go in the ditch. I run I80 a lot is where I get my observation.
  25. No sense of trying to tell people about HDT's. If the spec says it will do it it will do it. I wish people would just try a pull in HDT to see the difference before they pull out the spec sheet.
