  1. Jim You are so right. From what I hear this one new is $240K with about a two year wait. Other than camping in it 38 nights it has sat in my building the rest of the time. Only reason for selling is we changed ways of travel.
  2. If no pipe dope or teflon tape is used on the tee there will be leaks. The threads will cut thru the tape anyway.
  3. I knew this would bring up the age debate. I will say I know a farm family where one young member 20 years flipped a sprayer and clipped a car with his blade. His cousin layed a semi on its side pulling out of a field. When I was in business I was required the do a DOT safety inspection on all my trucks with GVW over 10001. Yet trucks with farm plates running 80000# are exempt. The youtube was about safety so there should be no exempt in safety.
  4. In my state of Nebraska a farmer has basically no DOT rules. These rules came out of the Nebraska truck information guide. Although the operator of a covered farm vehicle is not required to hold a CDL to operate a vehicle within the scope of the covered farm vehicle exemptions, a Nebraska operator is still required to have a valid Class O license and be at least 18 year of age if the covered farm vehicle is a truck-tractor/semitrailer combination. Under this law, operators of covered farm vehicles may utilize the following exemptions from the Federal Regulations:  No CDL is required (exemption from Part 383)  No enrollment and testing in a company-based controlled substance and alcohol testing program are required (exemption from Part 382)  No physical examination and Medical Examiner's Certificate are needed (exemption from Part 391, subpart E)  Hours of service regulations do not apply (exemption from Part 395) On top of this they are not required to have a yearly DOT safety inspection . Now that is scary pulling 80000# by a 18 year old kid.
  5. In Nebraska on I 80 at pilot gas is 2.48 while 20 miles away gas is 2.99. Don't tell me pilot is loosing money. As far as diesel most trucking companies have a fuel surcharge so they just pass on high fuel cost to the consumer (us).
  6. Kirk is right on. You need to get model, spec number and serial number. Go to smokestack.com to look up all manuals on your generator.
  7. Check with Texas. In my state if you register late your registration date starts from the purchase day. Also if you title later than due date there is a large penalty to pay.
  8. Doctors, lawyers and politicians mostly cover for each other in the end. Ever try to sue a lawyer, you will loose.
  9. I loved the video and have traveled Wolf Creek Pass in my motorhome. It isn't a whole lot different that most Colorado passes.
  10. Kirk, Go to Colorado. They are everywhere!
  11. Jeff Bezos did not build a $500 million yacht with out making money. Buying local (from a locally owned company) is almost a thing of the past.
  12. This is why I have a New Horizons. Their frames are built in house by their welder and his helper. Not welded by a low paid employee that has only worked there a week. I am not a good welder but I can weld better than the welds in the picture.
  13. The first RV possibly lived its life in the desert. No rust in the desert but heat can cook interiors and paint.
  14. I can report on traffic on I80 in Nebraska yesterday. Usually this time of year campers are everywhere and traffic is very heavy with cars. At any given time you could look forward or backward and in a 6 mile range there would usually only be two or three cars other than trucks so traffic is greatly down. There were some older class a and c but very few pull type and fifth wheels. That being said will the lack of campers show up in the RVpark prices?
  15. I remember in 1973 when gas went from .25 to .50 per gallon. Everyone was upset. now 49 years later fuel is 10 times higher. I think wages, houses etc are about 10 times higher than back in 1973. Point is fuel being $2.30 per gallon it was way behind the inflation curve. This is also affected by the current administration and what is going on around the world. Us consumers are caught in the middle and can't do anything about it.
  16. The last line of the conference report says it all. Back in the 70's there was a gas shortage. Generally, you have always been able to get all the gas you want. If the government would get out of the fuel and farm business you would get what you pay for.
  17. Cory I hope your Dad gets well soon and you Mom stays healthy. When my parents were alive I had my Dad an Mom in the hospital at the same time. NOT FUN. I had my fifth wheel sold and the guy got covid.
