Your stay does not have to be in the same county. I stayed in Custer State Park which is in Custer County and use the Escapees address in Box Elder which is in Pennington County. The DMV in Rapid City, Pennington County accepted my stay in Custer. The time before that, when I renewed 5 years ago I stayed in Sioux Falls and the DMV in in Rapid City accepted that as well.

I wasn’t recommending using the bladder as a black tank. I was recommending using the truck bed hard tank as posted by the OP as a black tank rather than a fresh tank. It is the same material as any black tank on our RVs only smaller. The issue is how to dump/pump it into a sewer dump station.

A SD drivers license is valid for 5 years. You can renew as early as 6 months in advance. Not sure how far past the renewal date you can go, but with theDMV being closed till May I’m sure you can get an extension. If you have a physical address you can renew by mail just like a vehicle registration. But if you have a mail forwarding address you must renew in person and show at least one overnight stay in a hotel, motel or camp ground within the previous year. If I were you I would stop in a motel, hotel or camp ground, if you can find one open, on your way north. Save the receipt as proof of an overnight stay. When DMV reopens call them and see if you can renew by mail with a copy of the receipt since they were closed when you overnighted. Just a thought.

I have DirecTv with a Winegard Travler dish. I have had this set up for over 3 years now. I purchased the rig in 2017. It came with the Travler already installed. The rig is a 2015 and the original owner purchased it in July of 2014 so I am guessing that the equipment is almost 6 years old. Everything worked fine in the past. I moved to a new location yesterday. The dish locked onto the satellites fine and all worked well. This morning I turned on the tv and all was well. This afternoon I turned on the tv and I got an error message from DirecTv, error code 775 saying that the receiver could not connect to the sat. I powered of the receiver and powered it back on but got the same error message. I then powered down the dish and powered the dish back on. The Winegard power box now says no power to LNB. I don’t even know what an LMB is or where it gets its power. Would appreciate any help troubleshooting this problem. Thanks in advance.

Linda, I had only owned the Garmin for one year and this was my first update. Garmin told me that the web site I was directed to by Google was a ghost site and not Garmin. The ghost site was trying to get my cc info and charge me $99. When I called Garmins 800 number I was able to update for free. So everyone beware of spam web sites. It was not Garmin who was trying to charge me.

Welcome to the forum Iris. Wow it’s been almost 2 years since I started this thread. I did go with the Garmin and have been very happy with it. Had some trouble doing the map update. I bought mine at Camping World and it had old software. My laptop is old too. Had to go to a friends house to do the update the software and maps. WARNING: when I went online on google to get connected to Garmin customer service I was sent to a web site that wanted my credit card to charge me $99 for the update. I disconnected and got out my documentation and called Garmin. They advised me that they have been having trouble with a ghost site. There is no fee. Do not give any financial info to anyone when doing this update.

Most addresses are in the USPS system and the bank will be alerted that it is considered a mail forwarding address. You may want to have a family members address as a backup.

My volunteer position at Anderson Civil War Prison and POW Museum at Andersonville GA for the month of April was canceled because the entire area is closed including the Visitor Center, Prison and Cemetery. I have found a small Mom and Pop campground nearby to stay in for the month of April. I am scheduled to volunteer in Shenandoah NP in VA for May and June. They have me on hold and won’t be making a decision until the end of April. I am also scheduled to volunteer in Teddy Roosevelt NP in ND for July, Aug and Sept but haven’t called them yet.

The Gov of FL also made the same for anyone traveling from NY.

Just saw on the news that New Orleans and the State of Louisiana may be the next hot spot for CV-19. The report implied that Houston will be affected as well since there is a strong connection between both cities. I hope that Escapees HQ in Livingston and the camp ground there will not be affected. Stay strong.

You can retain your AZ Domicile if you can get an address there and still use a mail forwarding service in TX without changing your Domicile to TX. That way you can travel and still get your mail. You would have to keep your AZ drivers license and registration and insurance using the AZ address and do all banking using the AZ address but can have all your statements sent to your TX mail forwarding address.

The major problem is that many locations are franchise and don’t have trained help, especially in the service department. Some locations are family run and have excellent service, but they are few. Most service technicians who are under paid by CW learn on the job and then go elsewhere for more pay. I would hesitate tho have any service done there. The other problem is that at most locations the RV inventory is predominantly the lower end of the spectrum at top dollar prices with no after sales support. About the only reason I would go to a CW is to buy something that is on sale like a chair or sewer hose.

I am a full timer with the Escapees South Dakota address who is on MediCare. I purchased my supplement using the SD address. DO NOT PURCHASE A MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLAN IT IS A HMO. The supplement plans available last year in SD were United Health Care thru AARP, or a supplement plan thru Mutual of Omaha. I went with Mutual of Omaha’s G plan. I also purchased my part D prescription plan thru Silver Scrip/CVS. When I need a Dr I just go on Medicare’s website, click in the location I am in and find Dr in the area who accepts MediCare. I use Walgreens or CVS for my Rx.

I have seen on the news, which may or may not be true, that Mexico is requiring all US citizens to be tested before entry into Mexico. But I have also heard that it takes 2 to 4 days for test results. pinger, please report back if you do cross. Thanks.

I am only a member for the 10% camp ground discount. I usually stay a week or a month and rarely get the discount so won’t miss much. Years ago I would attend their rally’s but haven’t been to one in several years.

The news is reporting that Canadians can cross north Into Canada and commercial traffic but not tourist traffic can also head north. Mexico is requiring all travelers from the US heading south into Mexico must be tested. Not sure how long the results from the test are taking. This info in NOT verified only what I have heard on the news.

Wow, I would think a permanent bathroom would be more safe and sanitary than a Port-A-Potty. They may go days without cleaning. It would be better just to keep the regular bathrooms open.
