  1. I drove over 30 years for UPS both in the package cars but mostly in tractor trailers and at the time all the training and safe driving habits seemed silly, but they really do work. When we travel the wife will say I don't know why you're so tired when we arrive at a location, "all you did was drive "which my response is I am tired from driving for all the idiots around us. One safe driving tip they use is Stay back and See It All, but as described in the original post even your safe space can be invaded
  2. One person already mentioned the lack of storage which I agree with especially on the outside, now one with the bedroom on a raised floor offers more storage but as my wife said she does not want stairs on each end of the camper.
  3. Don't let it bother you , remember it's her job to worry about her kids.......no matter how old we get😬
  4. Carl, the rally was GREAT, you, Donna and all the volunteers did an outstanding job, and we are looking forward already to next year!!!!!

Yes, thanks Rick I enjoyed the presentation, great job!!!!!!
  6. This will be our first year to winter in Florida so to be sure we researched a lot of places, found what we HOPE we like and fit our needs and booked for 3 months the day they opened for their winter reservations, we figure this way we had a spot and now can explore to see if somewhere else might be better. We hope one year to explore the Texas option as well.
  7. Hope to arrive around noon tomorrow, just over in Nashville now
  8. Just a heads up for anyone that might be heading east on 40 from the Memphis area, the construction just past Jackson is terrible, very choppy and will bounce you around a good bit, just came thru there today, just glad it was the weekend not sure what a weekday might be like. Safe travels to all heading to the ECR, see you there!!!
  9. Same here and was happy I found diesel for $4.43, never thought I would be happy about that but brings up another plus that has been said before with large tanks brings the ability to load up on fuel when found at a low price
  10. Carl, I have a friend who lives nearby and would like to come in one day to drool over the trucks (past truck driver) what is the process for just visiting for a day?
  11. We are currently at Tom Sawyer in West Memphis Ar. we survived yesterday's tornado alert hanging out in the small concrete bath house, one short stop in Nashville then on to the ECR, arrive Thursday the 21st. See you all there!!!
  12. Ok thanks Carl, see you in a couple of weeks
  13. Thanks Carl, anyone coming that will be weighing this year?
  14. I think this is a wonderful idea, like you say a win win situation for both, you mentioned 50 years old, isn't there an old saying you're NEVER too old to learn. Best of luck and enjoy learning!!!!
  15. Back in my working days as a UPS delivery driver we hated when the clocks went back as it would start to get dark before 5pm and in my day you worked until your truck was empty and residential stops in the dark could be a real PIA seeing house numbers. I was a cover driver mostly and ran multiple routes so could never get used to how some numbers would run
  16. Plenty of clearance and pay on the driver side.

Looks great!!!! Sorry about your mom, know the feeling as I am dealing with the same issue here, good luck all will work out in the end.
  19. The underbellies on both the Cedar Creel line (which has not been mentioned yet) and the River Stone line are put on in sections, so you only need to remove the section in a area you would have to work on, as long as you know what is where. Also easier for you to inspect places
  20. If you're starting to consider 5th wheels I would suggest you add River Stone to the list from Forest River, built like the DRV and Lux line plus they have different levels to look at, Reserve being the lower end with the Legacy at the top. They are heavy so keep that in mind also. Riverstone RVs | Forest River RV - Manufacturer of Travel Trailers - Fifth Wheels - Tent Campers - Motorhomes (forestriverinc.com)

    No Vacancy

Yes, they do have commercial rates but to me they usually seem really high for what they offer. We usually never try to camp at a Thousand Trails Park with friends who do not have a membership because of this reason. Some parks are very nice and some not.
  22. A lot of folks seem to like the Flagstaff/Rockwood brand of travel trailers, not saying they are high end but for the Forest River brand seems to be the favorite.
  23. Very nice!!!! Thanks for the idea and the instructions on "How To"
