  1. Today
  2. Yea, I had problems with it a few days ago. Haven't tried again since. Don't know who to notify that it seems to be broken. May just do a new topic. Didn't need to Worked today. Thanks to who ever fixed. Rod
  3. Unfortunately we need to leave shortly for a few days adventure to eastern Montana. I will search back in the forum history to see if I can find more pictures. I would say if you search in history for Wrknrvr jeep bed build or something similar, it should provide detailed pictures. I know I had posted them on this forum for someone else. trying to help
  4. This Call Filter is offered by Verizon. I believe one other carrier offers a similar app. Clay
  5. If your living in it your going to need some degree of liability coverage (like a homeowner would have). If someone was injured while in the RV you could be liable. Not sure insurance companies have any options for like that for RVs but worth asking. Lots of people living in permanently parked rigs out there. In my case I still have home and currently live in it. MH parked and not in use only has comp/collision/theft coverage. Lenp
  6. This may give you some old thoughts on the subject.
  7. So this shows the hitch extension. Also I have 2x5 “ box tubing that makes a platform to haul the ramps and other stuff. They push in and bolt tight with one 3/4” bolt. This photo is from 2019. I think the bed is 12’ long. It is 16” longer than the frame. That gives room for full storage area across the rear of the bed. I searched history and found this photo. I will find the date.
  8. So I tried to post a picture using the way Jack Mayer has setup. That does not want work. Will keep trying.

  10. More interested how you built the back of the truck bed. Meaning how are ramps attached, length, ramps must be made of steel to handle weight. thanks.
  11. I had to get ready for trip tomorrow. Not taking the truck. I will see what I can find. If you look at the picture on the left, you can see how the Jeeps tucks up towards the rear of the cab. Also you can see the rear axle of the jeep, compared to the axles on the truck. Will see if I can find some existing pictures, as that shows in detail how I designed and built the bed.
  12. X2 what Phil wrote. It would likely save you a lot of work, and maybe some $$, to find a 23k# rated axle. Nearly all the newer trucks with an air tag use that as their drive axle. Also, don't forget that even with a heavier axle, your tires might not be up to the task. So many details......
  13. Some Meritor axles can be converted to a locker with little to no modification, by just swapping the carrier, since some of their tandem sets uses on of their single rears as the rearmost tandem axle. Few if any Eaton axles can be converted to a locker without modification, because they use two unique axles in their tandem axle sets. In your case, though, with the chances of overloading a single axle being high, you definitely don't want to go with a 19k or 20k axle from the rear of a tandem axle set anyway. Try to find someone that has a 23k or heavier single axle with an appropriate axle ratio, a locker, and the suspension to match, and might possibly even take your tandem axles in trade.
  14. I am not ignoring you Larry. We are getting ready to leave for a few days. Just taking our van camper for a short trip. Till Monday. I think if you search history on the forum for Wrknrvr bed photos, you might find some. I believe about 5 years ago I did post some pictures on this forum. I did choose to leave it tandem. When you do not have the RV hooked up it will most likely turn on the front, rear axle. I did test test several times. I did make a sliding hitch to allow the truck to be shorter, when not towing. The actual bed is only 16” longer than the frame. Should be back Monday night.
  15. We're lucky in that all outgoing calls from all of our doctors show the same phone number so adding that number to my contact list was easy. Linda
  16. I love this idea! Could you please share more information about this filter?
  17. I appreciate all of the feedback. We will take the time to do the math. I believe the front axle is a 13.2k, will be able to tell you for sure tomorrow. The rears are MT-40-14x. If we do single I really want to upgrade the rear to a DCDL locker. Anybody done that upgrade? Easy or hard? Can the rear carrier be swapped out or is it a replacement axle? Not opposed to leaving tandem, just like the looks, additional storage and potential long term savings with singling, but ultimately will let the math drive the decision. I also want to factor in getting a different trailer at some point in the future. Currently have a DRV Fullhouse MX450 with a pin weight of approx. 3300. I want to make sure we will have the additional capacity for a heavier trailer such as a New Horizons, Luxe or something similar. Flying out tonight to Ft. Worth to pick the truck up.
  18. Circling back to a post above, do some ciphering to be sure you aren't overloading the rear when hitched up. Pin weight likely transfers weight from the front axle, depending on hitch placement. I can't imagine having the hitch far enough back to carry a Jeep, that you can even get close to being safe singled.
  19. I agree. I hate it that some Dr.'s offices seem to think "Texting" is the way to communicate. I also dislike when they leave potentially HIPAA related information in a voice mail. Any business if calling should only leave the name of the person calling, the business name and the phone number. Anything else is useless unless it's a question that has already been established and a simple yes or no type answer is expected. Of course if they don't leave a message they don't get a call back. If it's a Dr.'s office I have no problem calling every couple hours if they haven't responded to a question from a prior call. Rod
  20. And is not just the phone, last night I received an Email from supposedly Comcast. I was on my cell phone and something looked suspicious, more than asking for bank info as my monthly payment was rejected by the bank. Viewing the email on computer, I could see the complete Email address which was weird. No problem marking as spam on two counts. I pay a couple dollars a month for a call filter on my wife's phone. All calls not on her contact are silenced but are received as a silenced call. She can easily figure out the medical related calls not in her contact list. A lot of peace of mind. Clay
  21. I agree with Moresmoke. When we were looking for our 630 we were talking about singling it. We were told by the experts back then to be aware of the weight transfer to the front axle when we removed the rear one. It was not a problem since ours is a heavy and has a 14.6K front axle. We singled and never looked back. That was 2009.
  22. Just a note on the front axle weight, it is becoming more common on the newer fleet trucks to have a 14k or better front axle. In the drive for fuel efficiency, they are trying to close the gap between the cab and trailer, and can’t do that and only have 12k on the front. So it’s worth looking into what your truck has for a front axle rating.

  24. I think most of us get those kinds of calls from doctor's offices. I still don't answer and they have always just left a message. Haven't missed anything yet!
  25. In years past, my wife and were pretty good about letting unknown calls go to voicemail. In the past year or so though, with all our recent medical issues, we're regularly receiving calls from doctors offices where the calling number is seldom the same due to multiple outbound lines and cell phone use. The best we can do until things settle down is to keep adding new numbers to our contact lists and quickly hanging up on the scammers/spammers.
  26. Not actually on the truck, but similar size and number of tires. I tried to upload a photo but the link must be broken. It just sits and spins. Anyone have an old Porter Cable pancake compressor? I've had mine since I lived in South Florida many years ago. Just used it to air up the tires on my trailer after putting the "Cross Fires" back on last month. The indicator said 10lbs low so I set the output to 110psi and clicked on the locking "Chuck" after allowing the tank to fill to 120psi. It only takes a few seconds for the compressor to kick back in and a few minutes (but less than I expected) for the compressor to shut off again. Now have the appropriate color in the viewer on all 4 sets of duals. Will hit the truck tires tomorrow after allowing the compressor to rest for a day. All in all it took less than an hour. It would take the guys at the "Tire Shop" over 1/2 hour to do them it seemed so I will continue to use the little Porter Cable for this. I won't try to set a bead with it or do a full inflation from flat. Rod
  27. We were full time in a motorhome with the F53/V10 for 12 years and owned it for 14 years. When we sold it the mileage was 88k and the buyer sent an email to update us after he had it for 3 more years and at 101k miles and he was still happy with it. But 38k in 17 years is very low so I'd suspect that it has sat unused for an extended period. It very likely still has the original tires so they probably need to be replaced. It might be a real prize but unless you are a motorhome expert, you should have it professionally inspected before you put any money down.
