IYQ
I just got an email notifying me that my Vehicle Registration is complete and in my mail box. So I guess I'll be going straight to Perry, GA and hole up until I get them in the mail. Glad to have that off my mind. I went to town today to get some dishwashing liquid and quess what. I bought everything else in the store and forgot to get the Dish Washing Detergent. Oh Well, I guess I have something to do tomorrow. Fortunately Wally World is only about a mile from here. We had another mild rain today that keep things for getting into the 90's. That made for a nice day of participating in my favorite sport (The fine Art of Doing Nothing) I carved for a while then watched the boats go by for a while then took a Steve to rest up from all the excitement. Two of my neighbor Ladies came to the door and invited me to there site for a fish fry. I had just eaten a sandwich and besides I'm not too fond of fish so I had to turn them down. I thanked them for inviting me and for their generosity. Not because I'm so polite but because they may have steaks one of these nights. HA! ccsimpson
5/4 to 5/7 Panquitch, UT. Will visit Bryce Canyon and Cedar Breaks. Hve been here before but just hate to miss a visit to such a beautiful place. Â Had to skip Vermillion Cliffs due to requirement for 4 wheel drive vehicle, 6 mile hike to "the Wave", plus a waiting list for a pernit to hike the park. IYQ
I got up this morning with big plans on getting this trailer cleaned up. Well, I still have the plans and I'm still thinking about it. That is a big improvement over the norm. Normally I wouldn't even think about it. I did get the dish washing Detergent and I got the truck gassed and ready to go Sunday morning. But I don't know where the rest of the day went and the funny part about it is I didn't even have time to sneak in a STEVE. Oh Well, there is always tomorrow. This park filled to capacity today. Everyone has come to go fishing. The air is so think with Gasoline fumes I'd be afraid to light a match. Everyone is getting their boat ready to go and after a few beers some of them have a little difficulty hitting the hole while pouring gas into the Outboard engine. It is just now getting dark and I'll bet the smoke from camp fires and the fumes from the gas make a good combination. IYQ
Didn't do much the early part of the day. It was overcast and comfortable outside so I sat and carved awhile. After the sun got below the trees this evening I went out and hooked up the trailer so I'll be ready to leave in the morning without getting all dirty and sweaty. If I don't get tired or sleepy I think I'll drive on through to Perry, GA tomorrow. It's only about 260 miles but thats about 150 more than I like to do in a day. I'm the king of slow pokes when it comes to running the highways. About 3 hours of driving is enough especially when I'm just killing time anyway. I get a lot fewer callouses on my rear end that way too. IYQ
I made it to Perry, GA today. I'll be staying here untill the morning of the 17th. I came through the trailing edge of a severe thunderstorm as I was going through Columbus, GA. There was continious lightning and reports of quarter size hail. I didn't get any hail and just a little of the rain but it got so dark everyone was driving with there headlights on. I'm sure glad I didn't hit the heart of that storm. Over in eastern AL an 18 wheeler decided he would pass me and two other cars on a curve and hill. It was in a 45 mph speed zone and he was going at least 65. Just as he was passing me two cars popped over the hill coming from the other way. I pulled to the right as far as possible and so did the two cars coming head on. Everything came out OK but it sure was close. I hope the cops nailed that trucker down the road before he killed someone. Time for a Steve. IYQ
I had good plans on doing a lot of cleaning today that didn't get done. This morning I went to a little business area about 2 miles east of here and got my ear lowered. (I heard reports that the dog catcher was on the prowl) When I got there it was raining like mad. I sat in the truck until it slacked off a bit then made a dash for it. I'd been better off if I'd just came back home instead. The hair cut was lousy. When I got home and got it dry it looked like she had used a hatchet to cut my hair. Oh Well, it'll grow out again. (All to soon). It rained a couple of time this afternoon but not a whole lot of water from it. Between rains I sat outside and carved. steved44
Yeah, Lee, they told me mine would grow out again about 20 years ago and guess what....... I do have excellent neck hair though  Last week I started having trouble with my satellite Internet. I thought it was the trees we were by causing it, but now that we moved back to the casino and had no trees, it still didn't work. Turns out after a little troubleshooting it seems the transmitter has an intermittent problem. When it's cool out it works pretty good, but in the heat of the day, not so. I ordered one today with 2 day shipping so I guess by Wednesday I'll have a project to work on. The tech said it would take me about an hour to change it out, so that means after an hour of getting on the roof, an hour resting up there, and another hour climbing back down to get the right tools , Could take all day. Hmmmmm I don't have anything to do anyway, do I.  I talked to Jim Dixon this afternoon while he was being driven back home from the hospital. He sounded really good except they wouldn't let him take his "morphine drip" home with him. Sure glad he's on the mend, and I'll bet Sandie is pretty happy too. Go Jim!! IYQ
Yeah Jim. But those poor fish are in a heap of trouble now. Thanks for the report Steve and I still have plenty of hair on my ears. She didn't touch that. It's been off and on Sunny and cloudy today. Not bad when the clouds are covering that sun but it sure do get hot in a hurry when they don't. I spent the morning mucking out this trailer. I only got as far as getting the bathroom clean except the shower which I'll do while taking a shower. I got the kitchen pretty well done except one cabinet under the frig and the floors look pretty darn good. I still have everything in the slide out to pick up, clean, clean the place it was sitting and put back in place. Now if I can only get the EPA to come take down that silly yellow tape they strung all over the place. By one PM I was so pooped I just gave up and took a Steve. Tomorrow I'll tackle the half of the slide that the Piano is in. IYQ
My Vehicle registration and a whole lot of other mail came today. It was only sent Monday. I did the linen laundry this morning but that's where my planned work day ended. I started taking care of the mail that came instead. So Now I'm insured for another year. I voted on a Con Ed Proxy. I got the registration stickers on the Truck and Trailer. And I sprayed polyurethane on a box I just got done carving. And it's 4PM already. After I get some vittals in me I'll take a shower and scrub down the shower stall then get the rest of the clothes ready for the laundry tomorrow. This holely T-shirt I'm wearing will be the scrub rag for the shower. At least that won't be in the laundry tomorrow.
