Wanderin
Update on Lee: It is sad news. He has a brain tumor and believe this is probably what caused the symptoms of the stroke. Now they feel he may not have had a stroke at all as diagnosed by the doctors in New Mexico. However, they cannot operate. He can't speak and isn't eating. He was originally put in assisted living but is in the hospital now. He will be moved to hospice before long. I hope he is beyond realizing what is happening. And the hospice people really do provide adequate pain relief. Lee must have a dilly of a headache. Freddy & Delcie
We close the Campground today. Leave tomorrow for Cochiti Lake for a few days letdown. It has been a tough summer. Next year we are taking a smaller campground with about half the sites, we are getting to old to take care of 45 sites. Hope everyone is well and happy. {we are} Hope to see everyone this winter, not sure where we'll be yet. Thinking about the Escapade in Tucson in March. Stay Safe!! LIFE IS GOOD!!!! Wanderin
I have very sad news. I received an email from Lee's niece this evening. "Lee passed away yesterday evening in the hospital. He made it 4 weeks in the hospital, but the Doctor said the tumor was pressing on his temporal and frontal lobe and that eventually it would cause him to stop breathing. I'm so sorry to have to give you this news, but I can't tell you how much I appreciate you guys checking in on him this whole time. It means a lot to me, and I know it meant a lot to Lee. steved44
So sorry to hear that Jeri. We knew it was just a matter of time, but still couldn't force ourselves to believe it. He's sure going to be missed. I don't know how many nights he and I were the last two around the campfire and told war stories until we were both mostly asleep. He would always be the one to post something on the forum just to get the rest of us to wake up and start posting again. He was an inspiration to all of us to keep going, keep camping and keep living. Now he's got a whole new campground to set up in. They'd better have full hook ups in heaven, or they're going to be sorry. Rest in peace IYQ!
