Congratulations Eric & Karla.....enjoy!!! Not sure staying in the north all winter is a good idea though :-)

I'm having flashbacks of the ice storm that shut down the whole town of Decatur, IL, when I was a kid. Our whole family slept in the living room using our camping equipment for bedding and lights, etc. Grandma and Grandpa had to move out of their all electric home. Sure was pretty, though, will all that ice covering everything in sight.

Good Morning Jeri and everyone. We have cloudy skies here in Clarkston, WA but no rain. Need to keep moving further south towards the sunshine. Hope everyone has had a wonderful summer.

Sandie - If you are still in Clarkston go over to Lewiston to a place called Effies Tavern. The biggest burger you'll ever eat. Tina and I shared one and it was very good too.

We are near Florence, Oregon on the coast. It has been cool to cold, gray skies and off and on rain today. We may have waited to late to go down the coast and have good weather. Kind of reminding me of when we went up the coast back in early summer of 2012. Gray and drizzle most of the time.

Travel safe everyone.

Weather has been almost perfect here in Gulf Shores, AL. That good because our AC died and we have about a 10 wait until a new one can be installed. Gets up to 80 during day but cools off quickly in evening. Survival without AC by running fans!

Its been rainy here in Virginia for the past week. Guess the gods are trying to make up for all the heat and humidity over the summer. I flew to California last week for granddaughters wedding. It was beautiful in California until the day we left and it hit 106 in LA. That usually doesn't happen, the Santa Ana winds were carrying the heat from the desert.

Hope you all have a great winter wish we could be there.

well if it's weather update time, here ya go, in greater Chicago land it has been rainy for the past few days and in the 60's but today it will be partly sunny and maybe 70. Fall is in the air and the colors are the coming. (so is the snow, I know. But I am ready) We've already turned on our fireplace for a enjoyable night by a fire. Haven't done that in 8 years.

Spent yesterday helping my daughter to get ready for our grandson's 5 birthday party. Oh what fun!

I saw that place as we drove through town but Jim has been really sick (we think it was the oysters he had) so we didn't make it Effies. We're headed out this morning and he is finally feeling better. Next time.

I hope Jim is well again and it was nothing more serious than bad food. That's bad enough!!!

We're in Winnemucca and it is finally warm enough for me to put on a short sleeve shirt rather than a sweatshirt.

I can hardly wait! Tomorrow we're in for buckets of hard rain ....not happy about that. We're off to Florida this week (if there are seats left on the plane) and after that we're heading south from here. We're finally in the process of charting our travel.

PS ... We've already shut down the "cabin" and are in town for a few days.

Safe travels. See ya in Arizona later this winter. :)

Looking forward to it!

We moved a whole 10 miles from the Kelso Elks to our son's driveway. The mud brought in by the rain and the neighbors convinced us it was time to move after only 3 days there. At 5:30 this morning the Canadians started their diesel engine and ran it for about an hour. This went on and off for the next 4 hours. We wondered if they didn't pay for the electricity and were trying to boondock. Who knows and now who cares.

Was that move South? Every little bit helps.

Love it when people run their truck engines. Many people simply do not think of others!

Another pain are people who insist on SLAMMING their RV doors. Again, I don't think they care that someone is living 10 feet on either side of them. This can go one all day long! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Whew......now I'm tired. Sorry about the rant :D

We are back in Apache Junction. And it's definitely "warm" here - 95 today. Once we got the house sold, we really had a great summer and lots of fun on our travels. But it feels kind of good to be back and settled for a couple of months at least. Now to start the round of doctor appointments. And all that kind of fun.

We're not "happy campers" with the Thousand Trails park in Vegas. It's a real mess. The storm damage from 8 months ago is still laying around the pool area. We have 4AM noisy neighbors and we even had to use a shoe horn to get into our spot. We'll probably be out of here in a few days ... have to meet with cousin first and then we're on the road to somewhere .... probably. Weather is supposed to improve. It's been nasty too.
