Hello Class,

I have been visiting my brother for the last 7 days and have not had internet access that would let me update the class site. Worse than dial-up.

For those that have emailed pics, I will get them posted as soon as possible. Have some catching up to do. I will get it done!

Glad to read everyone is having a great time.

Jim and Bette we are so happy things are going well for you two. May blessings continue to be with you. I will get the class update done, also you emailed me.

We spent today geocaching with Joe and Nancy Liston. We're in Pahrump, Nevada and found 9 caches today - that should put us over 100 found! icon_biggrin.gif

We also did some wine tasting with Joe & Nancy on Saturday.

Wind finally stopped blowing all of the time and it has been really pretty. Heading for Napa Valley next Sunday.

icon_smile.gifHey guys...we are in Deming, NM

Gene & Shirley came by and picked us up in Benson, AZ this morning and we made it to Deming... icon_smile.gif

We are styin at the El Rancho Lobe RV Park.. a P/A Park...very resonable and it is only 20 miles out of town...not really but it did seem like it when we were heading out here...from the I10...we turned on to a 2 lane HWY...from there the HWY turned into a gravel road icon_redface.gif...then at the stop sign where we were to turn left to get to the entrance to the park...we were then on a dirt road...We finaly made it out here and there is a gate that has to be opened by the Mgr. he met us at the gate...Very nice gentelman...Gravel pad...pull through...50amp service...Intetrnet and no cable TV and Gene & Shirley's KingDome doesn't pick up anything either...BUT...all that said...

We are havin' a great time!!! icon_biggrin.gif Today was our 31st Anniversary...G & S fixed us a great Steak dinner with all the trimmings...what a treat... icon_biggrin.gif

We will be here for three nights and then on to Van Horn, TX.

We are having a great time being background actors in the various TV series and pilots we've done so far; but, we sure do miss traveling! Most of the shoots are 10 to 12 hours a day, mostly sitting around waiting for your scene to shoot, re-shoot and reshoot. We are listed with a couple of casting agencies; and, I am listed with an agent for TV commercials; but, no work from them yet. Suzanne is getting headshots made so she can list with the same agent. Next week, I will be taping the pilot episode of "Caveman", based on the GEICO commercials, should be fun. We are paid up at the Birmingham RV park in Van Nuys through the end of April; and, if there is still work available, we'll extend through May when the new series' episodes and pilots go on hiatus. Unless Stephen Spielberg can't start his next film without us icon_biggrin.gif , we will hitch up and head east toward Chicago to visit our son, Adam.

Jeff and Suzanne..........after getting to know what great folks and 'hams' you are, we are just so excited for you. Keep us all posted before a show or commercial airs, so we can be sure to see it. Some of us don't normally sit still long enough for TV!

We have been having so much fun with Dave and Barb O'Keeffe this week. They have taught us the ropes on geocaching. After climbing mountains, hiking 1/2 mile treks across the desert and scaring Jack Rabbits out of the bushes we have logged 18 caches in two days. No doubt about it, we are addicted now!

The Stockton Escapade is nearing. Do we circle Lake Tahoe before or after?? Then up the western coastline?? Take the motorcycles on the Alaska ferry?? WOW! What a life! icon_wink.gif

M2Togo; Depends where yo are coming from as to whether to circle Lake Tahoe before or after the "Escapade"...

I noticed that you have an "HDT" Are you guys planning to attend the "informal 2nd annual "HDT" Rally", on you way up the Western Coast??? It is in June at Winchester Bay, OR...Check out the HDT Thread and you will get all the info...

We are on the road today...along with Gene ans Shirley...we are on our way to Van Horn, TX...suppose to have snow tonight... Can't wait...

Charlie60,

We are leaving the SKP park in Pahrump, NV on the 16th. We finally decided to head to Stockton by going around the southern end of the Sierras. Then we can take all the time we want after the rally to explore Lake Tahoe on our motorcycles.

Our truck is a class 6 and considered an MDT. We are members of that BOF and hope to catch up with some of those folks at the Escapade. We plan to spend some time at Winchester Bay, so maybe we will get to see some of the HDT rigs.

Enjoy the snow!

Charlie - we get to see the "stars" occasionally. Suzanne was right behind James Wood in "Shark" and he was quite amusing with some additional dialogue which was cut from the final take. We were both right behind Edward Herrmann during "The Gilmore Girls" shoot. He was the only actor we recognized although the others in TGG may be well known to those who follow the show. Suzanne did a pilot with Rikki Lake on Wednesday. Jeff will be doing "Caveman" next week and may get to work with the "Caveman" of the GEICO commercials. Who knows what else may come up?

icon_biggrin.gifHey Ya'll...(we're in TX now...gotta talk- the-talk)

Dave and Toni...Where ya'll headed...we're in Van Horn Texas (not far East on the 10)...will be here tonight then off to Ozona, (2 nights) tomorow and then up to Snyder,TX, (2 nights) from there we're headed South again first to the TX Hill Country, that some have been talking about (Fredricksberg), then Further South to get back on the 10 to head to Florida...Fredricksberg is the only place I really like in TX... icon_cool.gif

icon_wink.gifJeff and Sue..."I'm so proud to know ya"... Can't wasit to see ya on the TV...that'll be a kick... icon_razz.gif

It didn't snow last night icon_biggrin.gif but it did get colder than a witches b***...36 when we got up...we woke up to a giant clap of thunder...at 9:45AM. Haven't slept that late in a long time...I think it was just the time change though..We are now 2 hours ahead of PT and an hour ahead of MT so that throws us off 2 hours...so it was just 7:45 to our brains... icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyway, today we will have a catch up day...do the laundry clean the coach and get ready to get on the road again tomorrow...This is the longest stretch of 2+2+2+ (travel 200 miles, stop by 2:00PM & have 2 margaritas when you get there)that we have done...it is fun, challenging in a way but really fun...

Yesterday we got "slowed down" by the Border Patrol Inspection road stop...they were lookin' for drugs and illegals...we didn't have to stop but it was a little intimidating... icon_eek.gif

Mike just about caves in when things like that happen...that's why he won't go to Mexico...he hates the border crossing...

Anyway...Bill and Helen & those of you that're in the Hill Country...give us some info re: the parks that you have stayed in...Will you still be there around the 13th...that's probably when we will be there and stay for a few days...They do have great German food there... icon_biggrin.gif Have you been to Johnson's ranch??? I went on a tour there from Austin once, it was really interesting...beautiful property, especially this time of the year.

Hey Mike,

How are Ya’ll doing ????

We heard from another couple that that club park was real nice, but it’s a trip getting there. They said that there were Motorhomes still in the POTHOLES icon_eek.gif from last year. Well, maybe not that bad. Anyway, we’re thinking of going back sometime late NOV or early DEC (we think) but, you know, that will change at least 2 or 3 times .

Charlie,

We’re spending a couple of days at Carlsbad Caverns and then to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to see family there and then check the weather to see what road from there.

If your on I-10 in LA, stop at mile marker 44 at the Coushatta Luxury RV Resort and Casino icon_biggrin.gif. it’s a really a great place and cheap too. $17 fhu with concrete pads, wide entrance roads, and high speed internet in the clubhouse. Oh yeah, there’s a Casino there too…..

Talk to you guys later …..DAVE & TONI icon_cool.gif

OK U-All, Is it y'all or ya'll, or maybe even yawl or does it really make a rat's bottom? Part of being a Texan is dumbing down, or is it dumbing up or dummying down or up? I'm so confused. Anyway............

Charlie, I am spending the night at Walmart in Fort Stockton. Is it freakin' cold here or what? Yeah, Al Gore and global warming my arse. I went thru a bleepin' slush storm today on I-10. Anyway, we should be passing each other tomorrow on the freeway. If you guys wanna buy me breakfast, lunch, dinner or all three give me a call at 530 415 9595.

If anyone knows of a good place to get an oil/filter/lube job between here and Yuma please let me know.

Cheers, U-all/y'all/ya'll/yawl..............mike

The weather forcasts say that it is suppose to be better today...and by tomorrow it will be in the 70s & 80s depending on just where you are...This is FREAKING weather...we really haven't been warm except for a very few days since Last November the 1st in Astoria, Oregon...That is a literal statement...not an "fish story"... icon_smile.gif

You better be careful...and get to your destination in one piece...From what they...whoever "they" are...we are suppose to be done with this stupid struff after this storm...I sure hope "they're" right...

Happy Easter to all my fellow rollin' classmates.

Good Mornin' Charlie,

I probably won't get out of here till noon the way I'm dinking around. I talked the local Pizza Hut into delivering a pizza to me in the Walmart parking lot last night and I ate the whole stinkin' thing myself so I won't need to be eating for awhile anyway. The weather will be much better today. It's already slightly warmer than it was yesterday. Anyway, you got my number if you wanna hook up later. Peace-out.

Hey Dave and Toni, Thanks for the call today. I am currently at Sunny Acres. It's a great place for 15 bucks. Not sure if I'll be able to get in at Bogarts tomorrow without an appointment. The folks here recommended the Ford place for a LOF. No appointment necessary. You guys take care of yourselves and be safe. Be careful driving in that LA traffic Dave icon_wink.gif

Hi Charlie; We have been staying in the Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park, 3 miles south of Fredericksburg on highway 16. There are three RV parking areas here and we are in the first one by the entrance gate. The spaces are gravel, but it looks like they are blacktop underneath. Anyway, solid and pretty level and it has stayed dry even with all the "weather" the past few days. These spaces are long pull thrus with full hookups and a pecan tree and picnic table. There are park bathrooms and I think they have showers too. We have enjoyed this place enough to come back to it when we travel in this area. It is very open with lots of grass and trees - like a big park. There is a baseball diamond down the hill from us and the golf course is just over the hill. There is an air strip close to us, but very few plane traffic. The fairgrounds, racetrack etc. are in the area too, but not so close. The best part - it's $20 per night compared to $25 - $30 for anything else in town. If you want to pay more, Oakwood RV Park looks very nice and it is south of Main Street on highway 16 also, not as far as we are, on the west side of the highway. Bill and Helen are in the Fredericksburg RV Park on Highway Street. You can get there from Highway 16 or 87. It is very nice too.

We are finally headed home to Kansas today. Have been here 3 days longer than we expected to be. Looks like the weather will hold for a few days.

Tons of things to see here. The Bluebonnets are in bloom north of town, but don't know what the freezing temps have done to them.

Have a good trip.

icon_biggrin.gifHey guys thanks for the info...we got a park just outside of San Antonio at a P/A park for $12.50...so we'll swtay there and do day trips to Fredericksberg and Austin, etc...we'll be there for about 3 full days so we will see what we can...the bluebonnets are first on my list...I sure hope that the freeze didn't kill them all...

We are now in Napa, California ready to bend our elbow and hit as many wineries as we can over the next week.

We had quite a trip from Pahrump - - THE WIND icon_eek.gif I thought we were going to get blown away when we stopped overnight in Mojave. Yesterday morning they issued a high wind warning for Hiway 58, so we detoured a little south and then up to Fresno. And wouldn't you know it, every time we turned, the wind shifted into our face. We came up 99 - the section of I-5 we were on south of Bakersfield was a washboard - figured 99 couldn't be any worse. Was actually not to bad, and we did get to see more towns, etc.

We are staying at the Napa Expo fairgrounds in downtown Napa. $20/night with full hookups including 50 amp power. Trees overhead, an elementary school (so it will be quiet at night) on the west side, really nice. And they are putting in a new RV park with concrete pads that should be finished by this summer. Really a nice place to stay while touring the area.

We will be heading up the coast next week and going to try and get to Seattle by Mother's Day. It has been 41 years since I spent Mother's Day with my mom - figured it was about time.
