Vegas Teacher
O.K. I know some of you are thinking why is he talking about a series on Netflix about Chess? Well this is why....... My background is in Science. I have a Master's Degree in Molecular Biology. I know how to use the scientific method. If you look at what we do with our semi's it is a lot of: 1. Observation of a problem or issue the truck is having 2. Hypothesis ( a testable statement) 3. Experiment - Repair or attempt at fixing the issue 4. Outcome - Does experiment or repair A lead to B or C or D or possibly done. 5. Solution, if all goes well. 6. Conclusion - I will make sure next time before I leave the garage / storage unit / yard before I go on that trip I will do the following or check the following........ The above follows how I teach the scientific method to high school students. Same in the movie about Chess. You could always see the wheels turning in the Chess Grand Masters head. - Observation / Problem / Solution...... If you watch the movie you will see the same personality types on there, that you see on the forum. The people who watch what is going on, the guys who are truly gifted at what they do, the guys who give great advice and inspire us to do more to our trucks along with the others. So it you get a chance watch the series on Netflix "Queens Gambit." The series is based on a book. trimster
What? Wait! You're supposed to do something between... 1 and 3 before you grab the 4# hammer and start beating the crap out of it? 1. Observation of a problem or issue the truck is having 2. When I throw out the scientific method I do favor the G.A.B.H. method, I learned from a gunsmith = get a bigger hammer. sandsys
Great series! We just finished watching it last night. I thought the rules were: 1. iI it moves but shouldn't apply duct tape. 2. If it doesn't move but should apply WD-40. 3. Force to fit. Which may require the above mentioned hammer.
