  1. Nothing major I have a backup camera in my rear tag frame and I've noticed it's hard to see the black trailer ball receiver on the screen. So I taped a downward pointing triangle on the front of the receiver and sprayed it with white plasti-coat (the peel off stuff). And that really improved the visibility. I would have just used a couple of strips of white or yellow electrical tape but couldn't find any, of course when I needed it (see Murphy's law) tho now I think of it I do have some white gorilla duct tape. Anyway you may want to try it.
  2. Hengs is what I used, goes on easy, not expensive and has very good reviews.
  3. Alachua County Florida (Gainesville area the first medium sized city on I75 coming from the GA border) is supposedly enforcing home detention except for 'essential businesses'. However after 24 hours the only result I heard is that there was a line wrapped all the way around a local supermarket to the rear side of the store. Before their 'helpful' policy there were no lines, a lot of bare shelves, but still enough stuff that no one was going without (except for paper products). Otherwise just about every type of shop you can think about is apparently essential since they are all open. Auto Parts stores, Hardware stores and so on The Florida Governor announced he will not be doing a state lock down with this exception: Anyone entering Florida from NY or NJ will be expected to enter a 14 day self quarantine. So be aware if you are coming from there, since almost all the cases here originated from those people.
  4. Probably won't affect many of you but Alachua County FL/Gainesville has issued a 'home detention order' and closed all 'non-essential businesses'. Supermarkets can't have more than 50 people inside so I guess there will be a mob milling around outside waiting to get in. And restaurants
  5. We only stop at CW when we need something on the road, I wanted some magnetic catches this last summer for example. Otherwise it's Amazon, Dyers or eTrailer. We used to buy their camping directory but the computer/phones have eliminated that. Otherwise their prices are high and driving to a store is a pain in the rear. I never even knew they had them, or maybe never paid attention to their social groups. I'm not any sort of joiner and going to the Escapade this coming June will be an outlier for me. Assuming it doesn't get canceled.
  6. Well If you say so, but I went back and read the original post plus the link you provided and both are exactly the same. There are some comments in the first link pointing out that then definition of 'essential' may be deficient. Otherwise I see little difference.
  7. Sure if you find something interesting there go ahead and post it. I never heard of it myself
  8. It just seems like this years is shorter than usual, names, birth dates, ethnicity and that's about it. 10 mins max. I don't think I have ever been sent the long form.
  9. For those that have not, they have moved online they send you a PIN and a website you are supposed to use to enter your data. They have moved into the late 20th century anyway...
  10. I'll have to look at mine, I really can't tell what that is from the photo. Try moving out to get more of the frame in a photo.
  11. I Use the long dead 2012 DeLorme Street Atlas to navigate on a laptop computer, the road net hasn't changed that much especially on major roads. The computer has a much larger screen, I have a laptop stand for the truck which works very well. Plus since I'm using Visible the laptop has internet access. I haven't figured out how to get googlemaps to recognize the GPS puck for real time navigation. The S&T is hardly perfect but it's the best available now days since all the software navigation companies gave up. You need to apply real world knowledge to S&T since it can route you into bad places. I use RV Trip Wizard for planning, also not perfect but pretty good once you adjust to it's many quirks.
  12. A lot of people seem to like Hensleys and Blue Ox, I've never used or even seen either one. Both are pricey tho.
  13. There is no reason not to have normal security in the campgrounds. This not a government layoff and rangers can still drive around without 'close social contact'. And in case of need they can summon local law enforcement which have to have close contact as part of their job. Padlock the restrooms, most of us are fully self contained, leave the dump stations in unattended operation.
  14. The really stupid thing is that they are closing for 60 days until May 15th. I think the whole idea of closing campgrounds, which are minimal contact, is moronic. But if they have to do it then why not 10 to 14 days at a time, extend as needed. They already canceled all meetings and social events in the cg so what does closing cg get them?
  15. That's why they have 9 engines, they can lose one w/o a problem. They did not land the first stage tho.
  16. We just walked thru the local Walmart to see what the idiots are up to, they've cleaned out the store, all the cereal, all paper products, most of the frozen foods, all the canned fruit and so on. About the only aisles that seem to be fully stocked were Beer and Coffee/Tea. I thought the beer supply seemed odd, idiots like to get drunk don't they? There were a few bottles of water, they must have just received a shipment. Oh yeah the fresh fruits and veg were about 80% gone. Oddly strawberries were still to be had but the recent supply of strawberries is such poor quality that even idiots don't want them. My wife works for the schools and just got a call saying the schools were closed until April 15th. Parents will be going berserk.
  17. I just ordered some stuff from Amazon and had no problem, plus I got a 'your order shipped' notice a couple of minutes ago for delivery tomorrow. So I rate that rumor as unproven and unlikely. Canada has closed the border to all except Canadians and Americans, so that isn't true. Mexico was playing some security theater and making threats that most likely will not be carried out unless this get a lot worse. Which I don't expect to happen, I think it will taper off and vanish with warmer weather. Just look at the US instances: New York, Illinois and Washington have over a thousand cases each. They each have cool weather right now. Plus they are centers of international travel. The rest of the states for the most part have 100 cases or so. I think this is a stupid and needless media and political caused hysteria. Article has map showing US incidence OK looking at the map in that article I was wrong. The high incidence states are NY, WA and Cali especially the SF (cool weather) part of the state. And most states are well below 100 cases.
  18. RV Travel park closures Here is a list of more closures including IL and some PA parks along with a lot of other places.
  19. LOL that's not how it works, they don't have to urge people to do it, they just report that TP was cleaned out at such and such a location. And the rush is on. We have hurricanes down here, and people stock up on supplies. But TP is not one that was on anybody's main list. Water, bread, candles, matches and staples. Always plenty of TP on the shelves, along with paper towels etc.
  20. If you can explain the toilet paper and water mad rush as anything other than media fed hysteria, I'd like to see it. Diarrhea is not even being reported as one of the symptoms. Our local supermarket is 100% cleaned out of ALL paper products, except paper plates. I understand that in two days they cleared $1,500,000 more than their normal sales on Thanksgiving week. And do people really think that public utilities are going to collapse?? Water plants in particular.
  21. I saw a report, unconfirmed, that New Mexico parks have closed their campgrounds and so have at least some of the NM COE campgrounds. Looks like it is true. AZ is open: Utah: Nothing on the CO website. Cali is open. WA is open and that's all I'm checking. Nothing on the main COE website tho. One other thing I saw earlier: Canada is closing their borders, period. No getty in.
  22. First thing is: we don't know the death rate. If, as suspected 90% of people who get have no serious symptoms, that will reduce the death rate drastically. But imay still be higher than the seasonal flu. One degree C is a little less than 2 deg F. But the wuhan virus may not be with us that long. Right now if you look at a global map of the virus occurances you will see that the worse outbreaks all are around the same latitude band. China, Italy, in the US New York state to Washington state are all in that band. And they have cooler temps. People wonder why it has not hit Africa and South America as much, they are all hot and humid. Here in this section of Florida where the temps are already in the mid 80's and the humidity is high most of the year, all reported cases have been imported from other places. Like Flu and SARs this virus may burn out as soon as the temps increase as Spring moves on. All this panic and hysteria for nothing.
