  1. For western Kansas, Lake Scott State Park. Just south of KC/Olathe is Hillsdale State Park. They should be reopening after the 4th. We should be at Hillsdale before the Rally. Ooops! I have to get signed up!!
  2. I thought this discussion was regarding an HDT (which a 1 Ton doesn't qualify as)?????
  3. Steve and Rick have said it pretty bluntly, and I agree, you have some homework to do! Like you are finding out with the builders that you are working with, until you figure out the weights of what will be on the points of your measurements, not many will be involved with giving you a plan (and if they do, well there is no liability). Sounds like you haven't been to a Rally yet (next one is in Oct), or read enough of the postings about bed builds, or looked in the Resource Guide. It's homework time. So how short is your trailer?????

    Ac problem

Padraic, yours could be close to mine. 1 compressor feeds both. Yes, you could retire the one in the sleeper. I know I would not want to retire mine though. I have a lot larger sleeper (770) and we sometimes need to turn that a/c on to stay comfortable.
  5. Pete, getting in and out was the main reason I looked at these smart cars yeas ago. It does not sit low at all! Most sportier cars out there have real low seats in them, and that wasn't going to be for me. The smart works just fine and I'm 6'2" tall.
  6. As Phil asked, what county are you in? Polk county is real easy and everyone there knows what to do for our trucks to MH.
  7. I forgot the link for anyone interested. http://www.rvnetwork.com/topic/134293-2006-40-travel-supreme-fifth-wheel-trailer/
  8. I agree with all comments above regarding NH over DRV. For quality and major $$ difference, Mark and Dale's Travel Supreme is still available and will also come with all new goodyear's and AGM bats.
  9. Glenn, that is kind of a confusing statement. If you didn't get clearance under it, it wasn't raised up enough. If you slammed it up, you still didn't have it raised up enough. For anyone reading this still, slow down the unhitch procedure and let your leveling valves do what they do. Watch for the gap between the pin plate and the hitch.
  10. Sir Lance, just engage your PTO (cruise) and set it a little higher. Truck should stay running.
  11. Better said by a farmer! Or would that be former farmer?
  12. Glenn, remember, your bags are under a certain pressure to hold your trailer weight at a certain height. Remove that weight and the pressure will push the hitch up.
  13. Randy, take it easy until the surgery bro. Best of luck to you, and we will be praying for you.
  14. Not that long, but it does take a little bit for it to rise.
  15. So we pulled into a campground at Canyon Lake, TX (just below the dam) late yesterday afternoon and the quick decision was made to wait until this morning to offload the smart. Fired it up late morning to move the truck a few feet for the right angle to offload. 30 minutes later I am firing it up again to move back into position with the trailer---------and no start. So I am immediately thinking thru all the threads I have read here in the past. We have power, no bad connection at battery. The starter is engaging and is turning the motor over. Just no start! So I'm thinking fuel. Popped the hood and pushed my manual primer plunger. No start. Looked at the fuel filter and didn't see anything leaking and no signs of wetness anywhere, and the plastic fuel bowl is half full. Then I spotted it. One large bubble came up from the bottom of the Davco unit. Kept watching it and about 15 seconds later, another bubble! I went around and pumped the primer again many times until I felt the push back of the fuel. Truck cranked for about 3 seconds and started up! So I'm thinking Things are not tight around the Davco unit, or I have finally had a failure of the check valves in the fuel system. I thought I had read where this 2001 Volvo motor has 3 check valves, and maybe it's an age thing, but I'm not remembering where they all are at? Any ideas guys? I'm also hoping I can get to my next destination and check on the check valves there. Obviously once it starts I don't have a problem, so I'm thinking I don't need to be involved with the truck this week, and can go on down the road. Thanks in advance for your thoughts guys.
  16. Brad, sounds like a Windows issue! ha ha. Glad it's fixed.
  17. Wow! That is really quiet! I can't even hear it!!!!😀
  18. I did have our mechanic look at the system and get prepared for a flush. He was the first guy to hook up an air hose to the cap and pressurize the system. Yep. You could just hear some bubbling happening in the upper driver side of the radiator. Replaced with plastic (or whatever it may be), $$420, and some thought it might be a PEX product. That would be nice if it were, but probable not. Replaced the thermostat and we will see how it does.

    Air leak help

Rick, your Lady Mechanic is a keeper!
  20. I figured Vern would pop in and give you some good pics. If you go to the http://hdtrally.com/ for the National Rally, you can click on Previous Rallies at top of page and then click on any of the years. You will find photos of Truck/Attendees. You will have 15 years of photos. There will be a few in there.
  21. Should be for a pair. If you only need one, then call them. When I purchased my ramps from them, it was a pair.
  22. Both Pressure Pro and TST claim 215 and 218 pressure readings per their website.
  23. Thanks. We arrived in the Rio Grande Valley just a little bit ago. Yes, I know - wrong time to be here! Will be looking at it more tomorrow. Maybe.
