  1. The setup you see in my picture below, gives me my driver car wherever I am. Many of us are set up this way. And you will save a ton over the mdt price.
  2. We just set up camp at Hillsdale Lake State Park, south of Olathe, Kansas. Will be here about a month.
  3. "Garmina" proven herself to me several times like that. But then other times she hasn't got a clue!
  4. Contact Gregg and see if he has a suggestion on getting yours repaired faster.
  5. All set up at Hillsdale Lake State Park, south of Olathe, Kansas. Good timing as they just turned on the water to our loop at the park today. Using the 30amp outside loop which is right on the water. Just need the sun to come out after it rains tomorrow! This is a great park and now it is even better since we have our own tank on the truck for dumping our trailer tanks.
  6. Arrived in East TX in the piney woods for about a week, just south of Tyler. Will head up to Hillsdale State Park in Kansas in about a week. Jack, get things a little hotter up there for us. Don't mind the cool nights, but like it in the mid 70's during the day.
  7. Rod, you should see a small box pop up when you click on the blue. The real link is inside the box.
  8. On the road (HWY 35) today as we leave the big city of Sanger, TX, and will overnight at Cabella's, south of Austin, and then on to the RGV for arrival on Saturday. Might be a little crowded with so many rigs headed south! Looking forward to the drive! Have I said how much I love driving this rig?!
  9. Jim, glad you made it out! See you down the road sometime.
  10. Pulling out of Hillsdale Lake State Park (KCK area) and will be in Hutch for the Rally by the afternoon.
  11. I kinda run along the same lines as Jack. We have this huge 5th wheel with lots of basement storage, and we quickly filled it up. Really knew that I wanted the size cab of the 770/780 with all of it's storage area, and now have the right size drom so I can fill it up also! As a full timer, can't be without enough storage. Plus it rides real nice and is comparatively quiet! Yes, I enjoy driving it as much as anything I have driven - bobtail or towing.
  12. Wow! That's Great Advice! And it sounds like singling it was not the deciding factor! Good advice. Drive a few and imagine the next 5 hours in it, for a few days in a row!
  13. Jim and Jack - guess we'll see you both in Hutch before you see each other in Tampa?
  14. John. Welcome. Learn all you can and don't skip the Resource Guide, Jack's website as well as Mark's. Come to the Rally in October and check out some of the rigs there. There could even be a few for sale. Depends on how fast you want to pull the trigger, but like rickeieio said, there are some great complete packages out there now. Enjoy the hunt!
  15. Will be back on the road after an extended time in the RGV. Will be spending the night at our favorite Cabela's south of Austin and then on to our home base in East Texas for about a month.
  16. Great advice Rick, and coming from such a young guy I too have had to make a few longs runs because of appointments or schedule problems, and it isn't really worth it if all you remember is what you saw while sitting behind the wheel.
  17. Welcome, Continue to read and enjoy learning everything you can about these big guys. I, like you, always like learning from others who have been there and done it (right or wrong).
  18. Phil, PA in the winter and then South TX in the summer!!!! We need to have a talk. We will stop by after the 26th when we come out of Mexico. It will be good to see you. Take care and stay cool
  19. Well, going in a little opposite direction than most today . We are headed south back to Mission, TX. Have a Family Missions Trip to run into Mexico so we are going to be there for a few weeks. I would say stop on by, but you shouldn't be in the area during this time of year, and I won't be at my rig anyway. Be blessed,
  20. Janet, We were in DeFuniak Springs last early November and stayed at Sunset RV Resort.. The folks there were real nice and even made sure I could have the space next to us for our truck! Have fun.
  21. Welcome aboard! Search the Resource Guide to quickly find a lot of answers to your questions. Tons of info there.
  22. Well, sitting in East Texas now, a day later than I should be, and once I get my rig unstuck in the meadow tomorrow, we can start the bed build. Not a big rush, and I will be here for a few months. On Edit: The Rig is Free, the Rig is Free, thank God Almighty, the Rig is Free!
  23. Back down in North Texas for two weeks. Staying at Shady Creek Park north of Frisco. Might be the last time we stay here! Trucks can't stay with you on the lot anymore, and this place is packed! Ready to get down to Mission.
  24. Arrived at Sunset King Lake Resort north of Destin, Florida, in Defuniak Springs. Should be here about 10 days. And no, it is not warmer than when I left Missouri!
  25. Bruce and Sharon, We were just at Space Craft yesterday after being there a couple of days and hoping we'd see you pull in and get a chance to chat. But some other HDT was pulling in just as we were pulling out. They were coming in on the east side of the front building as we were swinging out on the west side of the building! But it wasn't you! Maybe we will see you at next year's rally or somewhere else down the road. Be safe. Now we are at Rutlader Outpost RV Park, south of Louisburg, KS. waiting for our Ballots to get here.
