  1. Good to hear you are coming along. Don't get soft, but use the meds.
  2. Mine, like Roger and Dave's, will be a conformis knee, if in fact they will do conversion knees. I think the implant will "Conform" to the trucks we all have! Since I'm having to have them do a little more work (tear the leg apart a little farther), I'm trying to plan it so I have plenty of time to rehab and get it done right!
  3. I'm having my knee conversion put off until next year late summer. Nobody warned me about staying on those pleasant pain meds for as long as I did (23 days), so use this as your warning! You want to get weened off of them as soon as you can. You don't want to suffer what your body will do if you are on them too long. I don't know what the druggies of the world do when their body starts shutting down and begins to hurt major time? I guess they just take more pain meds!

    Rally/tires

Roger, that guy does some nice work! Is it all by hand? Looked like it in one of the videos. I'm thinking he dismounts the wheels?
  5. Someone had one of these at the National Rally about 3 years ago. I think it might have been home built though. May not work on longer ones like Phil has?
  6. I would swap it with the spare and contact Goodyear to find out their recommendation with the heat!

Maybe Steve will see this post. He lives there.
  8. Dave, you will be fine in just a matter of time! It was probably only 4 or 5 weeks after surgery that I was able to move my truck at Rick's place to avoid the 5 inch hail that took completed the hail damage to the trailer. You will be fine in January. I may be right behind you. I will find out tomorrow what the plan is.
  9. It did say in the recall under the Remedy area, that Red Loctite would be the one to use. Also torque to be 45ftlbs. Is there are breakdown somewhere of the parts we are talking about? I will search.
  10. OK, so you say the tires only have 150 miles on them. Like Nigel mentioned, have the wheels been re-torqued? One of the best things I have learned thru this group is to go back to the last thing that was done (new tires for you) and see what happened. You can chock your wheels, lift up each wheel individually and then place something on the ground just next to the bottom of the tread. Spin the wheel and see how out of round that tire may be. If it is, and after checking the bead next to the edge of the rim, take it back. Defective tire. It happens.
  11. Strong stuff in the beginning is OK, just don't be on them long term. Someday I will share my experience with that when we see each other again! Bless you man,
  12. Sounds Great Dave! Major hint!!!! Stay in front of the pain with the meds. Don't wait until it hurts too much! For anybody else maybe needing one replaced, and being situated in California, take a look at this. A little amazing, and maybe not for everyone, but wow!
  13. Sunburned!!!!! Well I see you're fitting right into the lifestyle!! Good on ya.
  14. Oh it does sound like you have experience doing this😦😲.
  15. Just keep thinking about the better than normal my friend. Bless you man,
  16. The Baja and the state of Sonora can be really different than rest of Mexico.

    HDT VS MDT

Do you own a home that you could pull equity of and sell later? Are you looking at new, or preowned?
  18. You might look at this link. These folks know what they are doing.
  19. This reminds me of the story during our 1st year of participating on this forum, where one of our members pulled his 5iver down into Mexico, unhitched and drove back to the U.S. for whatever reason. When he returned to cross the border with his truck - they wouldn't let him enter. Don't remember what the outcome was of that, but I know he was looking for someone with a pickup truck that would come and pull his 5er north!
  20. Search Mexico and HDT on the forum, or HDT in Mexico, and see what you get. A part of Mexico is possible, but others have had issues. Look for the caravan guys in Escapees who take groups down there. They probably have the latest info. I would not take our HDT down there. They think it is commercial - you're doing business. Once you are further down in the country, lots of things can change. Even the Salvation Army lost one of their vehicles when it was taken down there by volunteers to during one of their disasters. After all, you are not in the U.S. anymore.
  21. This is the Mexico Insurance company I use for our vehicles when our ministry is in Mexico. Everything is over the phone and they email you the policy. Nice lady who takes your information. Be patient with her and she will get you a quote.
