  1. Are you going to retrack the nasty posting on Facebook about the bank president who is not the owner?
  2. Never heard of 'upper/lower Teton view campsites'. We've dry-camped many times at Gros Ventre campground and Colter Bay campground in the park. We like Gros Ventre much better as the you can see more of the mountains and there are also more animals roaming.
  3. This action is a little premature until the real reason is known.
  4. Hmmm... 25 yr. with the family and then you changed? What's the difference?
  5. Sounds like we're not the norm but in 16 years of full-timing and getting water from many different sources and not all municipalities, we never sanitized. We drank and cooked from the tank. Every so often we'd buy a new fresh water hose. We did use good water filters though.
  6. There are many gigs where you can do it being a single. Also, many things to do 'in the background' around from the public.
  7. The above are excellent things to think about. I would also suggest you do a Google for RVing in cold weather for additional help, including some YouTubes. You'll definitely be looking at dual pane windows and if you can find one with smaller windows that would save some heat loss. Plan to get the silver window insulating material to cover windows. Put insulation in any roof vents. Possibly adding more weather stripping around the door. Use heat tape on exposed piping. You're getting some answers that you don't agree with because the majority on RV forums don't RV in extreme weather. Perhaps you could find a forum especially for that which would be helpful for you. Some manufacturers you might look into are: Outdoors RV http://outdoorsrvmfg.com/ Northwood Mfg., Lance and Triple E There are probably some Canadian manufacturers that I'm not familiar with and they might be geared more toward winter camping. Best of luck in your search! You'll find the right one for you.
  8. I'd highly recommend you travel south for the winter & fly back for visits. It will be a lot cheaper than paying for propane to stay north in the winter in addition to other issues you may have because of the cold temps.
  9. Money comparisons have absolutely nothing to do with volunteering!!!! That's not the idea of volunteering. Do volunteers in a soup kitchen compare what they could be making at McDonalds?
  10. Here's his letter of apology for doing this on 'the spur of the moment'. How old is this guy anyway? https://ryan-andersen.org/
  11. One of the links Lou gave above was evidently from the person videoing this incident. He states "He was asked to stop. He sent two teens down to switch plates on the trucks; the little girl started copying him as well". What a fine role model he is to his family. His wife isn't any better if she just stood there smiling. Grrrrrrr!! http://rebrn.com/re/this-guy-vandalized-the-corona-arch-for-a-family-photo-this-week-4400070/
  12. Wish we were going again this year. That would be a fun gig. It's a neat facility in a gorgeous setting.
  13. We've used Fidelity, Vanguard, Wells Fargo, Bank of American with our Escapees mail forwarding address, Texas.
  14. Congratulations on making the decision. It's a wonderful lifestyle! I don't understand though why you will purchase something already. There are great states to investigate rather than going to the same place all the time. Just wondering....
  15. Freedom RV is another. They used to be a Newmar dealer.... surprised it's not on your list.
  16. Your SKP# is 119565 as shown below your picture. It's also called your membership #.
  17. If you want to do the Old Mission and Titan then you could stay at the Desert Diamond Casino at 1100 W. Pima Mine Rd. and I-19 between the two attractions. The casino has a very large circular area for RV parking with vegetation privacy on one side. It's better than the one in Tucson and only about 15 miles further.
  18. If you want to get a 'mountain fix' just take a drive up toward Mt. Lemmon via the Catalina Highway - go as far as you want - nice views of the city. Take Valencia east of the casino to Kolb north and right on Tanque Verde and not far a left on Catalina Hwy. (Mt. Lemmon). You could also take Valencia west to I-19 and a little south. There will be a sign and you can also see it in the distance against the mountain but not sure of the street name - it could be San Xavier - it a gorgeous white old mission church that is open to the public... no fee; very nice.
  19. How many RV parks have you found with such close proximity to N.Y. city? That's why they get the price they're asking. If you want to do the city that's where you'll stay unless you want to stay many miles away and commute into the city. I think you might be talking of Liberty Harbor RV.
  20. Oh, to have see through tanks so we know what's REALLY in there!
  21. For our 16 years of full-timing we do exactly as LindaH posted above. Leave grey water valve closed and you don't have to worry about the sewer hose getting smelly and you don't need a 'P' trap in the hose. Your inside drains create the 'P' trap. No odors. If you're concerned about not having enough room in the grey tank for your morning shower, just get in the habit of emptying the tank in the evening. Rid-X - sewage needs bacteria to dissolve. This is a natural process. It's always in your tank. If you use Rid-X and then dump it out it's not adding to the process. The Rid-X isn't in there long enough to do anything that the natural bacteria can't. Rid-X was made for septic tanks where the stuff stays in there. Adding chemicals to the black tank kills the natural bacteria. Use plenty of water. That's all you need. If your questions came about because of odors you're getting in the RV, check your venting pipe on the roof.
  22. The RV Water Filter Store has very good information regarding the types of filter. They have displays at RV rallies or order online. If you have questions about what you might need he is very patient and helpful. http://www.rvwaterfilterstore.com/
  23. If you don't go for the expensive resorts you'll do just find. Best of luck to you!
  24. Although this survey would give a 'general' idea it would really be beneficial to see a questionnaire where one had to actually fill in numbers and answer questions such as what kind of RV, towing a vehicle, etc. as this makes a difference in fuel costs, etc. so that everyone submits the same itemizing and also some extra questions as to how much you stay in a place before moving on and what type of RVing you do - private parks only, public parks only, boondocking only or a mix of the three. With that additional information a newbie could then zero in on the kind of RVers they are and get a little more realistic idea of cost.
