  1. The SKP Co-Ops were initiated by groups of members who put their time and expertise into locating land, acquiring funds, and planning the park. They were built at a time when state regulations were a bit easier to navigate, and by many members who volunteered their time and skills to keep development and construction costs low, making them affordable for co-op members who wanted to join. Unfortunately, things are very different now, making the construction of new co-ops cost prohibitive without more involvement from members. While the creation of a "Co-Op specifically is unlikely", the Escapees Board of Directors continues to seek ways in which the club can expand its parking system. We do have the goal of purchasing land to create and a new park focused on the needs of working RVers. At this point in time no notable progress has been made on the purchase due to zoning and other limitations.
  2. Hi Travis,

I would like your feedback on what you see for FT RV'ers working PT, FT, Contract, etc. on the road.  I'm about 10 years away from retirement and while I can live on significantly less living the RV lifestyle, I would still need more than what someone might earn as a Workcamper to supplement that income or lot rent exchange.  It seems this is an area that you are pretty knowledgeable about and hoping you can give me some honest feedback.  I have a B.S in Computer Science, MBA and other certifications.  I'm not looking to replace my current income but something in the neighborhood of $40K'ish.  Just curious how realistic that might be.  I troll several job boards and most of them it seems in my field are so specialized in specific products/ tools/ industries or require more than 50% travel.

What do you see in the way of postings for business professionals (if any)?

    Thank you.

  3. First of all, on behalf of Escapees RV Club we thank you for your business and support. Your satisfaction is very important to us, and we hope we have been successful in providing you with an excellent experience with Escapees services. We never like having to write these types of letters, but it's unfortunately sometimes necessary. Due to raising economical costs and the lack of price increases over the past several years, it was necessary for us to raise some selected rates at Escapees operated RV Parks. With a member base rate of $22 per night, we feel Rainbow's End and our other parks, are still very affordable and well under the national average for campground rates. We do utilize add-on fees such as 50 Amp and pull-thrus because we believe we should not build in these types of charges to guests that do not use them. Giving each guest the ability to choose what they want for amenities and what they do not depending on their length of stay, type of stay, time of year and so on. With today's modern RVs running more electronics than ever and normally running two if not three ACs, we have seen a steady increase over the past few years for electric consumption across the board. And since we only meter our monthly stays we must cover these increasing costs. Pull-thrus are generally intended to be utilized as short term stays and for those that are passing through. If we didn't charge more for these limited number of sites, our guests looking for a quick and easy setup would have a difficult time finding a site available to them, forcing them into a back-end site more often than not. Our premium sites are fully cemented pads and sitting area and are our version of a resort style campsite. So using Rainbow's End as an example as you have, you could theoretically have a daily rate increase of $11 if you were to utilize every single add-on we have. However, this is very unlikely for extend stays or even most guests. We try to accommodate everyone's lifestyle and wants as much as we can and therefore try to provide an abundance of options. Let's also remember that most of our parks have a large activity center, clubhouse, and other facilities you won't find a most standard campgrounds that are maintained by the campground operation.
  4. We got your request for the wording changes. We will consider the change from "right" to "privilege" in our next update, which will be soon.
  5. While TRA Park is still part of the Rainbow Parks system, we discontinued promoting it alongside our other Rainbow Parks about a year ago. It is primarily occupied by long-term guests who work in the nearby oil fields. As such, it is less of a destination park than our other Rainbow Parks and may give members an inaccurate perception of our Rainbow Parks system. It has no activity center, clubhouse, ERPU, or deeded lots. The member discount, policies and operation remain the same, and overnight guests are still welcome. TRA Park is still included in our discount park listings so that members are aware it is available, but we do not promote it as a Rainbow Park due to the reasons listed above.
  6. Great News! Sumter Oaks is open again to visitors!
  7. She does not have account on the discussion forum. As stated before the park managers and staff are not ready to accept anyone into the park for a number of reasons. There is large amount of limbs and safety hazards, the sewer systems is also till down. Park staff and volunteers are occupied with cleaning the park and making repairs. When we are ready for the public, I will post and update. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working as fast as we can to resume normal business operations.
  8. We are still busy gathering information about the condition of Escapees Sumter Oaks RV Park in Bushnell, FL. Our managers have arrived safely and are trying to assess the damage at this time. On the surface, it looks like some trees are down and the rear part of the park is flooded, but the activity center, office, general RV sites, and ERPU member’s structures appear to be in good shape. All tentative guests can watch for updates via our social media pages or may go to the Sumter Oaks’ Rainbow Park page (https://www.escapees.com/…/p…/rainbow-parks/bushnell-florida) for updates and future reservation information. At this time, we anticipate about a two week delay before we can accept park residents or guests to return. We are hoping by that time we will have power and water restored, and our clean-up crews will have had time to do what is necessary to ensure the park is safe and comfortable again. We will issue refunds for reservations affected by the park closure.
  9. Xscapers specific information, such as convergences, is found at www.xscapers.com. However, as stated in several of the posts, the website is currently under maintenance and is displaying the Escapees website until it is fixed.
  10. We are hoping by the end of the week. Due to the complexities of our custom code, a recently applied update did a real number on the site.
  11. As previously mentioned the Xscapers website has been under maintenance and is not live at the moment. I assume you are having difficulties finding more information pertaining directly to the group. Make sure you join the FB Group Page at www.facebook.com/groups/xscapers I have a feeling you are only following the business page currently. Hope this helps!

  13. This is incorrect to some extent. Xscapers does offer its own unique resources and information. We have also created special events that cater to working aged demographic to better fit their lifestyle. Becoming and Escapees RV Club member gives you access to the group since it is apart of the same membership. The website was recently updated which caused some bug in the site. This is why there currently seems to be no information pertaining directly to Xscapers.
  14. While doing some website upgrades the Xscapers site got a little banged up which is why the site currently looks the same as Escapees. We expect this issue to be corrected very soon. In the meantime here is a little background on Xscapers. The group is a lifestyle group within the Escapees membership and does not function as its own independent club. The group does however specifically cater to the working RVer and offers its own unique events called convergences. Beyond that the site also hosts unique information pertaining to those working aged RVers and has also inspired Escpaees to create more member benefits such as a Job Board.
  15. Yes, the Club News is a opt in and opt out email subscription. Regarding the recent Wholesales Warranties Club News, it was sent by HQ and we felt the piece was appropriate due to our partnership and the changes to their services. We do agree that this newsletter was more product related then our typical Club News and is not generally the goal of the subscription. However, much like the RVer Insurance Exchange Club News, these types of articles have relevance to the RVing community and our members which is why we felt they were within our guidelines. Out of respect and appreciation we do not send any information via Club News that we feel is solely spam. You can rest assured that we will provide important club information and updates through our Club Newsletters.
