dirtyboots
I'm on the hunt for my perfect Travel Trailer Toy Hauler. Tried to look at everything on line, now as the weather gets better I'll be going to different areas/lots to see what is available and if I like it in person as to quality and such. I've pulled bumper pulls for 40 years - horse, stock, pipe, car haulers so will stick with what I'm comfortable with. My needs aren't for 'toys' but the extra room for my lifestyle. Looking at 26-30 ft, Would enjoy hearing what you have, what you like/don't like. Thanks!

Dollytrolley
Dolly trolley here, We have a 2004 / 2014 Curtis Dune 30 ft tt toy-hauler that we have completely remodeled including a Custom- Dolly-the-Paint-Horse removable haul-module in the "toy section". The custom removable horse-module allows Dolly to ride in slant fashion with very good ventilation and superb stability if we need to stop quickly. The module has it,s own heavy-duty fiberglass tub floor section with rubber horse matting and pine shavings horse bedding. The removable horse module wall sections have two large sliding windows that can be opened when we make a pit-stop so that Dolly-momma (DW) can talk and give Dolly a drink. When we stop for the evening we lower the ramp and Dolly walks down the ramp and into her custom PVC pipe panel corral with partial cover a side-roll-out-awning. Once we arrive at our final destination it takes less than 5 minutes to remove the Dolly-module and know one knows that a horse was ever in our living room!! We tow the Dolly-Box with what else but.........the "Dollytrolley"........this is a 1997 Freightliner Century Class HDT with a Cummins M11 engine and a 10 speed trans. This summer we plan to give the exterior of the Dollytrolley and the Dollybox matching graphics so stay tuned..... linnemj
We have a Forest River XLR MBV toy hauler trailer. It is 30' long, a V-nose, and has a 8' garage that also serves as our bedroom when the toys are out. What we like about it is that we use all of the trailer - the garage doesn't sit empty when the motorcycles are outside. We habe a queen size happi-jac bed in the garage. Forest River made some changes for us when we ordered that works well. I don't think many of this model was sold.

Upchuck
Toy Haulers, I'm new and I have an easy question.I want to Haul my HD Road King And I do not need a12 foot garage, wall to wall open in back. I need like 8,9 feet in and maybe 5 feet down Center. I guess what I'm asking do these trailer people make anything with smaller garages in back. I don't need 12 feet. As I said 9 feet long is plenty and 5 feet wide. Now trailer 3 of us, like maybe 26 to 29 feet long. I have a 2011 Ram Diesel 3500 srw,. Don't really want a 5th wheel.like to carry crap in truck bed and I have a cap .Any suggestions ? Oh then can you order specifically make trailer ? Thanks for any and all you suggestions.Oh and hi to all. Ex truck mechanical ic.
Kirk W
Toy Haulers, I'm new and I have an easy question.I want to Haul my HD Road King. And I do not need a12 foot garage, wall to wall open in back. First, welcome to the Escapee forums. We are happy to have you and will assist as much as possible. The answer to your questions is, yes. Different manufacturers do build toy haulers with different sized toy space. Keystone as an example has them from as short as 4.4' to nearly 13' in length. There are manufactures who build toy hauler models in both travel trailers and fifth wheels, but you can even find a few of them in motorhomes. Different builders make them in a wide array of prices and quality so you will need to do some serious research before you choose. Like most things in life, there are significant differences between the cheapest and the most expensive of toy haulers. The best thing for you to do is to start window shopping to see what is available and then learn about RVs and RV quality versus cost issues. Depending on the unit, some have couches in the garage, but they can either be folded up or removed entirely. 6-8 people will NEVER sleep in my trailer - I preferred the TH for extra space to do with as I pleased. It's working out great!

It has a small garage in the back that is just meant for one large bike, maybe 2 small bikes like dirt bikes. The nice thing is the bedroom sits over the garage so you effectively still have the entire length of the trailer to live in and you don't have to unload the bike unless you really need it. I thought it was an awesome design. - https://www.granddesignrv.com/showroom/2017/toy-hauler/momentum/floorplans/376th Dan (Class of 2017) - 2012 Ram 3500 & 2005 Alpenlite Valhalla 29RK Contact me at rvsolarconsulting.com or Two Wheel Ramblin
BlueLghtning
i do have a question for the toy haulers that usually haul motorcycles. My wife and I definitely want to take at least 2 motorcycles with us when we go full time. Maybe 3 if we can squeeze it, but I'd settle for two. A standard toy hauler with a 12' garage or so would work fine for the bikes. If the garage is a little longer, I could fit a dual sport sideways since it's smaller. My question is we'll definitely need the garage area for her work area while we are camped. I'll work at a desk/table in the camper. My concerns is how much of a pain I'll find it to constantly have to load/unload the garage for us to have that space? I guess a lot of that depends on how long we stay in one spot? The less frequently we move, the less pain it should be. The other option is we are pretty certain wewill end up with an HDT to tow our 5th wheel, so the option to tow the bikes on the back of the truck is there if we go that route. Now I don't think I'd like the bikes being outside in the weather all the time in the open, but we could have some sort of garage/storage area. The advantages there is we can leave the bikes on the truck if we don't want to ride them and we could opt for a regular 5th wheel with a lot more living space. The downside is loading bikes up on a truck like that is going to be a bit tougher and we'll probably end up with a less than ideal garage space to actually work on the bikes. Decisions...... marspec2003
My wife will probably be wheel chair bound in the future so I am now interested and moving from a fiver to a TT because of the lack of interior stairs. I am also interested in a toy hauler so a powered wheel chair/scooter could be loaded. Slide-out/s would be nice. Any suggestions? Have looked at web site for the Work and Play.
