IYQ, the restaurant I was trying to think of in Las Vegas is "Charlies". It's a bakery and mexican place and the food is really good. Check it out if you get a chance. Steve

Thanks Steve, I'll give Charlie's a try. I have to fine it first. This morning the wind behaved so I took a nice long walk. This afternoon the wind didn't behave so I took a nice long nap. I did get a couple of little projects taken care of this afternoon and put all the tools back away. It's Friday and most State Parks would be full to capacity. This one is almost empty. There were about 10 rigs here when I first got here. Most of them left. Now there are only 4 other rigs in the whole park. I had planned on staying here 3 weeks but I think I'll cut that back to two weeks.

Well, Paul is back from Texas- no issues driving the car back for our daughter, other than it felt like a feather blowing in the wind on the highway, after driving a dually for 2 years.

Hard to believe we have been here in Muncie IN for almost a month, and will leave here next Thursday.

We're on a buying frenzy right now. So much of our energy is spent on researching, pricing etc etc, we're going a little crazy with it.

On Tuesday, we ordered a brand spankin new 36 TKSB4 Mobile Suite! It should be built in 6 weeks.

We made some custom modifications so its really going to be "ours".

Tonight we ordered two La-Z-Boy recliners to put in the new trailer, and next week we are going to look at a new 2011 F450. Yikes!

We spent this morning at DRV picking out decor and going over some of the customization with the guys there.

I guess we're a little nuts, but once we have "our" trailer, it should last us for many years~

Well, I'm just about ready to renew my fishing license too. It's almost time. I had such good luck last year with the salmon catching that I thought I'd try again!!

We have the Winegard Traveler with Dish and LOVE it. Our Kingdome didn't work right. I guess it just wasn't compatible with the new dual DVRs. We record lots of shows for later watching and are Judy Judy fans too ... well, along with a few other ones.

Hmmm Judge Judy fans. I don't get it but it gave me an idea. At campfire some night we could all reveal our secret passions.

Sounds so exciting. We have made so many "modifications" to our rig it better last a very long time. But hey, Doug loves doing it. The latest is Parker's "house" got renovated and Doug lifted one of our stairs and made a nifty shoe cupboard. When I can blog, I will show (shoe?) it off.

We had such a great time tonight with Dave and Nancy. We were going to go out for Chinese food but couldn't ever find the restaurant. So we gave up and went to Yelp for help. I started reading the names of places and Nancy said - that one sounds good. Dave agreed and so off we went to find the Zinc Wine Bar and Bistro. It was out in the University area of Albuquerque and the food was beyond wonderful. And the company was even better. Thanks guys for such a good time.

When I got up this morning the weather was beautiful so I took a long walk. When I got back to the trailer there was NO wind so I got my tools out and started to carve. About 2 hours later Holy Hell broke out. A gust of wind come tearing through and turned my table over and scattered my tools. Luckily, I had replaced all the blade protectors so no damage was done. However it knocked a cane I was carving for next years raffle for the children of Niland, CA at the SLABS. It put several dents in it where it hit the gravel. They will have to be sanded out and the whole thing repainted again because I had mixed colors together to get the shade I wanted. I'd never hit the same color again. I got so busy this after noon that I forgot to eat lunch, After the wind forced me to quit I took another short walk and couldn't figure out why I was so darn hungry. That has been remedied.

Sue: Congratulations on your new protable Hacienda. I'd hate to have to buy a new trailer with all the Mods I've done to this one. I don't think I could do them again.

Steve: Do you remember what street Charlie's is on?

Well Hello, from Bernardo, a 1/4 mile from the end of the earth. I've been busy the last few days getting my water tank plumbed up and wired. The project worked exactly as designed. The pump transfers water from my truck's 210 gal tank, runs it through 2 filters and puts it into my "casita's" 550 gal storage tank. From there, by turning a couple of valves, the pump once again runs the water through the filters and supplies the trailer with filtered steady 65psi water. The whole system is running 12V DC from my trailer batteries which are recharged by the solar system. Can't ask for much better than that.

Now to find the wheels to fit the casita so I can drag it along to Quartzsite.

Thanks Steve. I know how to get there that's right down town (New Town)

Now I know I have Alzheimer's. I made a wash of Acrylic paint to dip a small carving of an Indian in because I didn't want it to be so dark you couldn't see the grain in the wood. It was a very weak solution. We'll I dipped it and sat it on a napkin so that it would dry. I knew it would be a little too weak to give the color I wanted so I sat the Acrylic solution to the side and went about another project. Well while I was scratching my head trying to figure out how to do it. I unconciously picked up the cup of Acrylic solution and took a big slug of it. Man that stuff taste worse than my cooking. I tossed the pain out on the ground so that I wouldn't do it again. Well the paint job was too light so I mixed up another cup. I darn near took another swig of the stuff but I caught myself that time and broke out the cranberry Juice instead.

Dave: man you work fast I just read the email saying you had to go back to Belen.

It was indeed an excellent time with great food and company, and you're very welcome, and we clearly weren't supposed to find the Chinese place :D.

My sons arrive for a short visit tomorrow, so we're taking them over to Page AZ to do Antelope Canyon, and then up to the Bryce/Zion area for a bit. We were supposed to be up in Island Park ID (near West Yellowstone) around the 25th to start our summer volunteer gig, but sadly enough, we just learned that the snow in Island Park ID is still much too deep and we need to wait until the first or second week in June. (Hearing this, we were confused about what to do for maybe 5 milliseconds. :D ) Just have to hang out with Mike and Julie and explore Utah some more... This life is tough, but we're doing the best we can...

Dave, that island park area is really nice. Carol's brother used to manage Henry's Lake state park right up there when he was still a state employee. We were there at the end of June, and they still had snow on the mountain. They had a large radar station at the top and 6' snowbanks :o There are a number of great fly fishing streams in that area. We also went to a mountain man festival while we were there. A lot to see (and I didn't even mention "Yellowstone" Steve

Well, I did remember to wake up this morning inspite of my Alzheimer's. I took a nice long walk and the wind got an early start just as I was ready to turn around and walk back toward the trailer the wind started blasting at me. So I had to walk at a 45 degree angle against the wind. I played around with some carving stuff for a while then went in to eat some dinner. I didn't fix very much so as I was finishing I still felt a little hungry. I didn't want to blast the weight loss I've been having from eating my veggies raw. So I got out the Blue Corn Chips and set them on the table and opened the frig door to get the Hot salsa. The bottle is a little hard to get out of the shelf on the door of the frig. So as it came out of the shelf it hit the shelf above and I lost my grip on it. It hit the floor and splattered glass shards and Salsa from one end of the rig to the other. So Now I'm in a Mell of a Hess. I have Dropsy to go along with my Alzheimers. I am a little short of paper towel so to clean it up I took my teflon cutting mat and covered it with cling wrap. I scooped the glass and salsa onto the cutting mat and then took it to the waste basket and dumped the cling wrap and salsa in the waste basket and I still had a clean cutting mat. Then it only took two paper towels to finsing cleaning the floor. One wet and the other to dry. Then so I wouldn't find where the scattered glass shards were tonight on a trip to the bathroom with bare feet. I swept the whole trailer. Now all I need is someone to explain that all that red stuff splattered on my pant legs is really not blood.

Sounds like a real mess, Lee. Now you'll hear the crunch of glass the first time you pull in the slide. We had a good one day before yesterday. Carol opened the fridge and a bottle of pomegranate juice fell out. It was plastic, but it hit the floor and exploded :o we had juice on the ceiling, walls, couch, chairs and table. What a mess and sticky too. AArrgghhhh!

Okay Steve and Lee - I think we need to stop this dropsy stuff. I don't think my lemon bars made quite the mess you guys had to clean up but they were bad enough. Had a wonderful Mother's Day and I hope everyone had the same. We're expecting Wind today. Gee are we in NM? 50 mph gusts. Sound familiar Dave and Lee? But the good news is that it's supposed to calm down by the time we're ready to leave later this week.

Yep, these gentle breezes are becoming a pain. I have noticed the local weather folks don't even call it "windy" until it's blowin GALE force. I have found how to really stabilize the trailer though. I had been using normal wheel chocks, forgetting that I had a Bal-Chock in the storage. I installed the Bal-chock yesterday. It locks the wheels up solid and has really taken the shaking out of the trailer during this wind event.

I watch the weather in several areas and have noticed that east Texas and Quartzsite are also experiencing excessive winds this year. I'm glad I'm parked right now. I'll have to suffer by keeping the satelite dish down. It is only guaranteed to 50mph and it's blowin that hard now.

Yep, I saw Millie FLYING overhead with Dave in tow at the end of the leash several times today. I got my walk in early this morning but have been cooped up every since I whittle a while then get up and sweep the floor, Then bang on the piano for a bit and make a cup of coffee then whittle somemore then sweep the floor again. I hope the boys in the white jackets aren't look through my window. I'll be here one more week then I'm going up to Raton to Sugarite Canyon State Park for a while. At least that is in a canyon and if it's not lined up with the direction of the wind it should be a little more calm.
