We have been having problems posting comments in many of your blogs. I know Jeri mentioned this our her blog. Today I finally got the following message.

We’ve started restoring the posts that were temporarily removed and expect Blogger to be back to normal soon.

To get Blogger back to normal, all posts since 7:37am PDT on Weds, 5/11 have been temporarily removed. We expect everything to be back to normal soon. Sorry for the delay.

Now we know the problem.

Wow...I was beginning to think I was losing my mind! Or it was already gone! I could have sworn I wrote a blog, added pictures and posted it yesterday, and today it was gone! I couldn't find it anywhere! So I sat down and wrote another one and added pictures and when I went to post it, the other one was back! We're having a blast here in Georgia with friends and by ourselves! It rained a bit tonight briefly, no storm tho. Tomorrow we are attending a Military reunion in Savannah with a girlfriend of mine that is a widow of a Special Forces Ranger that was killed in a military accident in Germany several years ago. Rain predicted for tomorrow at 50%. It had been in the high 90s ever since we got here. We are going to just keep tolerating...and think we'll head down in Florida next. No need to cross over where the flooding is or where the tornados ravaged Tuscaloosa. Have a friend there now and it's truly aweful. Did have plans to check out Tunica Miss. on the river by one of the casinos, and now they are under water, so that saved me some money I'm sure. Hopefully Monday we'll go to Paula Deen's and run around downtown Savannah...we'll see.

As Always,

Friday the 13th. I have considered my lucky day. When I was 16 I screwed up and totaled two cars. The one I was driving and the one I hit. Both myself and the other driver walked away without a scratch.

Fast forward to today. I'm driving in my own yard and managed to bury the truck up to the spare tire. I called a neighbor and had her bring her Lincoln Towncar. It wouldn't move the truck. She called a couple of people to help but no one had a rig big enough to pull out a 7,000lb truck buried to the frame. So, I'm taking a break and the phone rings. A fellow. I have never met, tells me to set tight and he will be over within the hour to pull me out with something called a feed truck. He shows up with the biggest 10 wheeler I've ever seen.

Think of a very large dump truck with a dump bed reaching 10ft above the frame. He had driven over 7 miles to help a neighbor. He pulled my truck out with no trouble.

It turns out he owns a "small" dairy with 600 cows milked daily. No wonder he has such a strong truck.

All he would accept was a handshake and "thank you".

My luck on Friday the 13th is still holding.

Sounds like the reputation for Friday the 13th may be soured a tad. That's not bad luck to have someone help you out of a big hole! Our New Jersey daughter called today. She said it was Friday the 13th and had real bad news. The news ... her family is moving to Portland! That's bad news?

Terry finally made it out of DFW after his night sleeping at the airport. Blogger is finally up (kind of) but I'm so far behind reading that I'll never catch up. Maybe I'll just start with tomorrow. Don't know what we're going to do with "brother" and his assisted living issues. Geez .. things have been busy.

I still can't post comments to posts with Firefox that have embedded comments ... i.e. Sue's.

PAULA DEANS!!! so jealous. Now remember, same day reservations in person only. We had the buffet. And I had a mint julep even though it wasn't on the menu.

For our Friday the 13th experience Winnebago was able to buff out our tree scratches without having to repaint. Bad day? Not. Plus they finally replaced the toilet that kept trying to flood. Plus they found out the problem we have with the one slide topper is a broken spring which is now on order and should be here Tuesday morning. Now if they could just figure out what's wrong with our stupid furnace...

We are having a great time here with Jerry and Janice/ Dave and Nancy - some hiking- some MC riding - lots of FOOD and stories!!! Janice feed us Spaghetti night before last which sure hit the spot after a long ride.

Last night we had meatloaf, mashed taters, salad and cobbler - seems food is the common denominator - think we are due for a dinner out before Jerry and Janice leave next week- unless we can talk them into staying longer so we can eat more, hike more, eat more, tell more stories, eat more, explore, eat more, go boating, eat more................ Oh and perhaps drink a little Cranberry juice too!!

Well the wind is back with Vengeance. I take that back. Vengeance got tired of the wind too and left the state. I suppose I should be thankful for the one day out of 12 that was pretty good. Yesterday we didn't get much wind until evening and even then it wasn't too bad.

Today a truck pulled up beside my trailer and the guy got out and bolted a sign to one of the post there. I went out to see what it was and it was a Reservation only sign. The guy was the new Host who will be running the park. Later I saw him and ask if it is now a reservation site when will I have to move out. He said you have to be out of that site by noon tomorrow. I ask him why in the hell can't they give a little notice. I've already made plans to leave Tuesday to meet someone at Sugarite Canyon. He said I had to take my wife to the hospital and I just got here. I told him they knew it would be a reservation site when I came in. Why didn't they let me know and give me the chance to select a site that wasn't reservation only. Later I saw him and the ranger together and walk up to them. He told me he got the reservation list for Sunday night and my site wasn't reserved so I could stay Sunday and leave Monday. Then he said check with me tomorrow after noon and maybe you can stay there Monday night to if it isn't reserved. A stupid way to run a State Park.

Yesterday a car with a gal driving it came down the wrong way on our one way loop. She was going about 30. The posted speed limit is 5. She pulled into the site across from me and sat there. A little while later a truck with a guy driving it came the wrong way down the road and pulled in behind her. She got out of her car and got into the truck and they both took off. The Car sat there all day. That evening the guy came back with a little travel trailer. (an old one) and parked it then took off. About an hour later the truck came back and the lady jump out and got into the car and drove off with the guy in truck right behind her. Today people started showing up. I didn't count the cars but there were a bunch. They parked two cars and a truck pulling a boat on a trailer behind my rig in my driveway without asking or even letting me know. The two cars have gone but the truck and boat are still there. I'm glad I didn't have any friends expected to show up and spend the day with me. They couldn't get within a block of me to park. I think I'll be glad to leave this campground.

Sure would like to help everyone out with all the wind. We would love to have some of it up here in the northeast. Maybe it would help to dry out our campground. We are still trying to recover from the river flooding, and now its been raining for the past 2 days and it's supposed to continue off and on for the next week. Maintenance says they will need a week of dry weather and another week to clean up the sites. I'm afraid there are going to be a lot of disappointed people when we have to call to cancel their reservations

I really hate not having the internet and what I have now is a very weak signal. Haven't even tried with blog until today so missed all of the excitement. I'm so far behind on posting and reading I'll never catch up. We're in Cottonwood Campground at Canyon de Chelly. It is really incredibly beautiful here and our weather has been perfect. A breeze but no "wind". Sunshine but not hot. We'll be here until Tuesday and then we're going to move up to Bluff, UT. At least that's the plan for now. I don't think the signal is any better there.

We arrived in Amarillo, TX this afternoon. Beautiful weather....dry, no rain, no hail and no tornadoes. Going to be cool the next couple of days with highs around 70 and lows about 50, then back into the 80's. Looks like we are out of the high 98 degree weather for awhile....ahhhhhh.

I was watching a toddler walking in the camp site across the street. It would walk about 5 steps then a gust of wind would make it loose its balance and it would fall on it's prat, Let out a bellar, then get up and try again. repeat repeat. Yep our friend the wind is still with us. However today it put on a show for us. About a dozen young people pulled in all in a White van. I don't know how they all got in there but they all got out and started unloading a ton of equipment that was in there too. The fun came when they started putting up some fairly large tents in this wind. They finally got all 4 tents put up but it was quiet a show watching the process.

I thought I was loosing weight by eating all my veggie raw. I'd better have my scales checked. I was sitting outside in my campground folding directors chair. As I started to get up the bottom split from front to back. I'm glad I was in the process of getting up or I would have ended up on the ground. I think there is an RV center in Raton, NM near Sugarite Canyon. I hope so or I'll be doing a lot of standing. I don't think there is a Wally World there. At least my 2005 Wal-Mart book doesn't list one and there is one in Trinadad, CO just 22 miles up the road.

All the rigs moved out of the sites they marked as Reservable yesterday except me. Now they are all empty except for when the kids in the van parked. They stretch out over 3 sites but only have the chains down on one. Talking about a bunch of people in one vehicle, a local bunch pulled into the site across the street this morning to use the site for DAY USE. When they left this afternoon they piled 11 people (about 6 of them kids) in a pickup truck, plus a rather large bar-B-Q grill with LP tanks.

Tomorrow about 1PM I'll hook up and take the rig to the dump station. When I'm finishe there I'll just circle back around and pull into the site across the street which is not a reservable site and leave it hooked up ready to pull out the next morning. And wouldn't you know, they are predicting high winds for the next 3 days. Not that we haven't been having high winds every day. They just didn't predict them. When I get out of the wind I'll have to practice untill I get my land legs back. I may not be able to sleep without the topper popping and the trailer rocking back and forth all night.

They have been predicting those winds. You just are not familiar with the terms. It's taken a while but I have deciphered their code. When the weather folks in New Mexico say "breezy" they mean "gale force". When they say "windy" they mean "hurricane force". Their idea of "calm" is steady at 35 with gust to 50.

I think you're right Dave, Today they predicted Windy, It start out with just a breeze, not bad at all, Then gradually increased to somewhere between tornado and hurricane. This eveining it's calmed down a bit. The trees are only at a 45 degree angle.

I'm all hooked up, tanks dumped, full Fresh Water and I even have the jacks up just incase the wind dies down too much and I don't have anything to rock me to sleep with tonight. I should only be about a 2 to 2.5 hour drive and I'll be at Sugarite. Just incase I can't get into Sugarite I have the direction to all the commercial RV Parks written down. I sure nope it get me out of this wind.

When I first got here I had a very good data signal. Now the signal is strong enough but tne speed has dropped off util it's as bad as Villanueva and they didn't nave any signal that would register on the phone till I turned on the amplifier. I'm noping for a better signal at Sugarite.

I have a bandage on one of my index fingers (No I didn't bandage the wrong finger.) (and I didn't cut it. It's for a hang nail that gets so dry I can't touch anything with it without making it bleed.) (I'm tring to soften it up with triple antibiotic salve.) Anyway it hits about 4 keys every time I try to use that finger . I've about worn the backspace out.

Hey, Paul, we just finished getting our Wineguard satellite installed at Kjelshus RV in OKC. Now we're starting to look like a weather truck with two sats and a couple more antennas. I think I'm going to try and find one of those "golf ball" looking things to put on the roof then "the look" will be complete. Are you still planning on getting you A/C worked on? I'm sure Gary could get you in. We're sitting right outside his gate, and he ran a 30A cord to us for tonight. We are going to Freightliner tomorrow to get our odometer checked and see if we have any service bulletins we may have missed. Then maybe back to the casino. Gotta get more chalk!! Steve

What a day! Started out this morning parked outside the fence at Kjelshus RV, where we had the winegard traveler installed yesterday. Carol left to play tennis (lucky gal), and I stayed there to get ready for an appointment with freightliner for my odometer issue. Before I left the RV place, I told Gary (the owner) that one of my slide toppers was getting ragged and I needed to replace it. He said, "put your slide out and I'll get the numbers off the topper". I went to put it out and sheared off a bolt in the slide mechanism. I thought I had another one, as I had done that before. NOT! Gary didn't have one either, so I managed to get the slide back in, and headed out for Home Depot. I found some grade 8 bolts there and proceeded to fix the slide in their parking lot. Then I headed out for freightliner to get the odometer problem looked at. After 4 hours at freightliner, they agreed with me that I might as well keep my current odometer and they will give me an affidavit attesting to the true mileage. Then, I went back to where I got my satellite installed and put the slide out to let them read the numbers off the slide topper and order the replacement. Slide worked this time. Left there and went to look at a pickup truck that I was planning on trading the trailblazer for. Well, the truck looked nice, (good detail job), but it appeared to have been in water, or at least a lot of salt water. Lot of undercarriage rust. I passed on it and wound up bidding on a truck on ebay that I had been watching for a couple of weeks. I wound up getting the truck on ebay and now have a plane ticket to leave for Detroit to pick it up on Thursday. I might have to harass Paul and Sue, or maybe Boogity, on my way back here. They wanted 900 to ship the truck back here, and I got a plane ticket for 250, so I may come out OK. Anyway, It's been a very busy day today.....No wind or weather though :P

We arrived in scenic Moab yesterday for two weeks of fun. We'll have to hold off on the exploring for a day or so as we've had rain off and on today and more on the docket for tonight. We've had some wind, too. But, nothing at all like Santa Fe!

We're looking forward to meeting up with Jim and Sandie here. When can we expect to see you two?

Safe travels to all!

We will be there tomorrow afternoon. I am so looking forward to a reliable internet signal. We are at Sand Island BLM Campground on the San Juan River near Bluff, UT. It's beautiful here - but we've had rain and cold today also. My signal is good right now but in two minutes it might be gone. We are almost out of water and I am so looking forward to hookups and a long long hot shower. See you guys there. We're also staying at Portal RV Park on the north side.

We have moved a little bit. Feels good. We are just up in Salmon Arm for about 4 days. Visiting with Doug's Mom right now. We have insisted that her medication is cut in half and she is so much better. No hallucinations at all and the memory is much better.

It's very warm here, about 24*C which is the high 70's F. We are parked in Doug's brother Bill's shopping centre's parking lot. Complete with dump station. And the best news - HOCKEY, on television. Until now we have just listened on the radio. Our beloved Canucks are doing fantastic. GO CANUCKS GO.

So I have good internet and cellphone too. It would be nice to meet up on-line, MSN or live on Facebook. I'll watch for y'all.

Hey the SUN has returned to my part of the Pacific North West. YYEEEEEHHAAAAWWWWWW  So yesterday we headed over to Anacortes, WA and walked onto the ferry going to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. Once there we rented a "Scoot Coupe" for the day and proceeded to tour the Island. Met a GREAT park volunteer out at American Camp and learned a lot more about the "Pig War" between America and England. Thanks Janice. Ended up our day on the Island at a restaurant over looking Friday Harbor and the Marina.

Canadians are DONE. Sorry, it sure would have been nice to have two Canadian teams playing for the Stanley Cup. But, Canucks are going to win. That's all that matters to us.

We're still in Panguitch (next to Bryce), where the sun is definitely not shining (well, to be fair, it's nighttime...) But it didn't shine today, either. Frozen rain (S***) a lot of the day, and up in Bryce, it was white. All of this week it's been on and off rain, but in spite of that it's great to be here. Mountains! Hills! Elevation! NO dust storms and constant high wind! Last week was great, though, and we hiked Bryce and Zion with my sons, who apparently took the good weather with them when they went back east. Incidentally, one of my sons explained the name of this town (Panguitch) as a contraction of "penguin sandwich". This raised more questions...

Sure wish you guys would have kept your rain to yourselves. We had a few moments of sunshine and then your rain showed up very uninvited. Raining again this morning. Hope there's a museum or something we can do indoors today. Tomorrow is supposed to be almost sunny. Yea.
