GlennWest
My 2016 is difficult to fill with fuel. Will take 4 gallons good, then click, click, click to get a few more gallons in. On the Smart Car forum seems a commons problem with the 2016s. Any on you having this problem? Got mine in shop now. 2003 Teton Grand Freedom towed with 2006 Freightliner Century 120 across the beautiful USA welding pipe.https://photos.app.goo.gl/O32ZjgzSzgK7LAyt1
Jack Mayer
I don't have that particular issue, but I do notice that the gauge is pretty far off. As best I can determine about 1.8 gallons off. Jack & Danielle Mayer #60376 Lifetime Member Living on the road since 2000PLEASE no PM's. GlennWest
My guage screwy too. If you stop at the 4 gallons it will reag full. After you drive 20 miles or so, it reads little more than half. 2003 Teton Grand Freedom towed with 2006 Freightliner Century 120 across the beautiful USA welding pipe.https://photos.app.goo.gl/O32ZjgzSzgK7LAyt1

billr
Venting issue would be my guess. Agree. Take rear lower body panel off. Check the vent hose. The panels have a specific way to remove, be careful not to pull and break fittings. Warranty still? Take it in? NoDirectionHome
Don't work right with our fuel. Hilarious! Is our's too thick? I can only assume our pumps are too high volume for the vent. rdickinson
Nope, mine doesn't. Doesn't get anywhere near the mpg that the Diesel got but has a lot more get up and go.
redcrzr
I have issues filling my 2016. Like others, the fuel gauge reads .5 gals left & I have a hard time squeezing in 6.5. Dribbling in the the last of it. I always figured it was the shape of the neck. Pain in the area. Jack Mayer
Glenn, I'll be interested in the "fix" on yours and what you see. I'm "short" at least 1.5 gallons, it seems......although the tank reads full on the gauge. I have not run it "dry" yet, though, to determine how much I can put in max. GlennWest
Yes mine would always shut down at 4ish gallons. I be showing 1 bar so 1.5ish off also. Our cars don't hold much and I want it full. They didn't even question my complaint. Smart told them to replace tank and reprogram it. Still have it too. Been all week. Bad thing about this I banged up the loaner. Man riding on bicycle with dark clothing and no reflectors. I hot him at about 40 mph. He was just on down side of railroad tracks. They are elevated so headlights didn't come on him until it was too late. He not hurt thakfully. 2003 Teton Grand Freedom towed with 2006 Freightliner Century 120 across the beautiful USA welding pipe.https://photos.app.goo.gl/O32ZjgzSzgK7LAyt1
