Kirk W
This isn't your typical RV park................. From the story in that link: The bodies of a man and a woman were found Sunday in a travel trailer at a campsite next to the suspect’s residence. Four males initially thought missing were found dead Monday afternoon in a pond on the suspect’s property.
Daveh
Yes Kirk. Sounds very odd. I was wondering whether anyone out that way knew more details.
Kirk W
Living only a short distance from Anderson Co where it happened, it has been covered by the local news. Other than some additional information about the arrest and the history of the suspect, there has not yet been much about it all. It don't sound like an RV story, but just more of the family squabble type thing. No pictures of the RV yet but the property from the road looks like a dump. Solo18
I would not really call them "campers" since they were staying on someone's property that they knew. I sounds like it was a permanently parked trailer. To me a "camper" is someone on vacation temporarily staying in a campground.
TXiceman
From the photos on the Tyler news, it was not a campground. They appeared to be staying on an individuals property. Ken
bigjim
This time year some could be hunters and it could be a hunting camp or hunting land leased.
justRich
This time year some could be hunters and it could be a hunting camp or hunting land leased. Probably. It says a "campsite" - not an RV park. It could be just a stone fire ring and a boondocking parking spot.

Al F
This happened on private property, not boondocking, or a campground, or a RV park. More details at: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2015/11/16/family-confirms-6-killed-texas-campsite/75893806/ In many areas of Texas and probably other states there is land which has been carved up into 5-25 acres sections available for purchase as a vacation spot or hunting spots. Many times these are marketed as "Ranchettes"
Kirk W
Here are a few more details from WFAA news reports. An RVing friend in south TX says that the elder Johnson's used to own a lot in the Escapee park, The Ranch. I've not been able to verify that.
