  1. I'm currently reading the "Sunset on America" series from Ryan Schow. It's a post apocalyptic EMP thriller series that's a real page turner. I'm also almost patiently waiting for Amazon to release volume 22 of former fulltime RV'er Nick Russell's "Big Lake" series, "Big Lake Drunk". The Big Lake series are lighter mysteries with a touch of humor thrown in. The book is finished, but Amazon is still doing whatever it is they do before making books available to us. Nick's other mystery series, the "John Lee Quarrels" series is a bit darker, and his third series, "Tinder Street", is well researched historical fiction. I've found all of them to be very good reading and well worth my time.
  2. Thanks for the heads up, Derek. I have kernel 5.15.85 installed, as well as 6.0.14 and 6.0.15, so I'm not sure where I stand update wise since 5.15.85 is higher than the 5.15.61 fix recommended in the article.
  3. They work well with both horizontal and vertical polarization, and even circular polarization if anyone is using that. MIMO communication sends and receives the same data as several signals simultaneously through multiple antennas. This type of antenna diversity uses multiple antennas to improve signal quality and strength of an RF link.
  4. According to the FedEx website, the FedEx Delivery Manager lets you request a delivery redirect. https://www.fedex.com/en-us/delivery-manager.html
  5. Aah! I forgot about that. Try installing the FedEx app and see if it allows you to change the delivery address. I've done it with the UPS app, but I haven't tried it with the FedEx app. Their website might have more info on that.
  6. Could you set up a temporary forward with the post office to get it to your current location? My billing address is my mail forwarding service, so I just had them FedEx the Visible phone and SIM to me back when I signed up a couple of years ago.
  7. Just to clear up one point that's been mentioned in this thread a few times, a "hotspot" is a "modem/router". Both terms describe the same device or feature.
  8. Definitely get to his other two series when you get a chance, Derek. Both are quite good, and all three series are available with a Kindle Unlimited subscription.
  9. John is correct that the 140 volt output, although too high, would not affect the ATS operation. ONAN calls for a 132 VAC max no-load voltage and and a 112 VAC minimum full-load voltage for most non-inverter 60 Hz models. The frequency range should be 63 Hz max at no load and 58 Hz min at full load. If the voltage reading is stable, then the voltage and frequency are adjusted using the idle stop screw and the governor speed adjustment nut. Again this applies to non-inverter models. If the voltage is varying with no change in the load, then the voltage regulator module is suspect. The service manual for your generator model will have more detailed information on testing the electronics.
  10. NY Times best selling author Nick Russell is a former fulltimer that published the Gypsy Journal for a number of years, and has also written a number of RV related travel books among others. He currently writes three different series of fiction novels, the Big Lake series, the John Lee Quarrels series, and the historical fiction Tinder Street series. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=nick+russell&crid=2QPBDRL04G15Y&sprefix=nick+russell%2Caps%2C298&ref=nb_sb_noss_1
  11. That's actually a somewhat common situation when someone leaves the shower or outside shower shut off at the shower head with the faucets still on. The open connection between the hot and cold becomes a mixing point that warms up the cold side or cools down the hot side.
  12. Your link above without the "IMG" tags...
  13. Thanks, Jay. That's what I would have expected, but not being in the situation, I've never looked into it.
  14. That's an interesting situation, Rod. I'd suggest talking to a Medicare specialist to find out how the Medicare premiums would be handled if you don't take the SS payments.
  15. I never saw much point to flow-thru sensors since you still have to remove a valve cap. My arthritic fingers actually find it easier to remove a standard TST sensor than a small valve cap. I don't use any locking or security measures on my TST sensors that would make them harder to remove.
  16. When we park in a space, I need the door nearly wide open so I can reach out with my cane to support myself as I get out. My wife needs the door wide open so she can exit with her purse and portable oxygen concentrator with my assistance.
  17. Another vote for the TST TPMS. We've been using our 10 sensor 507 system since 2013, and a 510 system before that on our previous motorhome since 2008. The performance has been very good, and the rare times I've needed to contact tech support, the response has been great, even getting a call back on a Sunday one time.
  18. Even the parking lots with multiple handicap spaces often have the problem with end spaces. And I agree on smaller vehicles taking the extended van spaces. I suppose if that's all that's available maybe, but the one you mentioned was definitely rude.
  19. The simplest setup would likely be to just replace the existing cylinder hoses from your auto change-over with longer ones and connect your two 100 lb cylinders in place of the smaller cylinders. Switching back would be as easy as moving the hoses back to the smaller cylinders.
  20. They typically have a space on one side, but not both sides for a space next to a standard space. Here's a photo showing what I mean. The parking layout apparantly assumes only one person in the vehicle needs the extra space for exiting/entering the vehicle.
  21. I agree handicap parking is problematic at times. My wife and I both have hang tags as well as handicapped plates on our toad. I use a cane and have difficulty walking long distances due to arthritis, while she is on oxygen, has spine damage, and also can't walk long distances. One pet peeve is when we're in a handicap space with a regular space next to it and the regular parker pulls in so tight to our car that opening the door wide enough for easy entry is impossible. I'd really like to see stores add a marked no parking space next to the handicap spaces. It wouldn't need to be the full width of another space, just wide enough to allow full door opening. I've only seen that done once in the time we've used the spaces.
  22. Given the number of zero additional premium Advantage plans available, I don't think cost should be an issue, so there's no "waste of money". And there are benefits to most Advantage plans over original Medicare even if you're quite healthy. Annual physicals for example, are not covered by Medicare beyond a very basic "Wellness Visit". Most Advantage plans do include annual physicals though, including EKG's, blood tests, and other tests that may be indicated by your health status. Given the zero cost, having an Advantage plan could be worthwhile if for no other reason than having it available "just in case".
  23. If your former employer is paying for your supplement, that's great. The fact is though, Advantage plans cover things Medicare doesn't, and with the zero additional premium plans, my wife and I pay less in co-pays per year than the premiums on any supplement. The majority of our doctor visits are with our PCP, and there's no co-pay. Specialists are $40 per visit, but those visits are usually no more than 3 or 4 a year, with most once a year.
